Kelce caught three of his six targets for 35 yards in Sunday's game against the Bears.
Another quiet game from the third-year tight end, who has now failed to top 58 receiving three times in five tries. Despite the lack of production, Kelce is still a large part of the Kansas City offense and could see his role expand further, with running back Jamaal Charles likely out for the season with a knee injury. Now reeling from four straight losses and the injury to their star player, Kelce and company will travel to Minnesota in Week 6.

Kelce (groin) is active for Sunday's game against the Bears.
Kelce was a full participant in practice on Friday, so he should be a full go in this game.

Kelce caught five of his seven targets for just 49 yards in Sunday's game against the Bengals.
Despite the Chiefs throwing 45 times on Sunday, Kelce was held in check, producing his leanest fantasy output of the season. He was needed a big more as a blocker in this one, as Cincinnati generated consistent pressure on Alex Smith, but his seven targets indicate that he remains a big part of the offense. Kelce has a home matchup with a Bears defense that has allowed an average of just 35 receiving yards per game to tight ends this season.

Kelce finished with 80 yards from six receptions (on 10 targets) during Monday night's game against the Packers.
Kelce's 10 targets set a career-high Monday night, when his 80 receiving yards were fueled by a long gain of 38 yards, once again displaying Kelce's unique big play ability for a tight end. Although running Jamaal Charles stole most of the red zone work, fellow teammate Jeremy Maclin's strong performance Monday could afford Kelce less attention from opposing defenses moving forward, another encouraging development for his fantasy stock.

Kelce caught four passes for 58 yards on five targets in Thursday's 31-24 loss to the Broncos.
With the Chiefs either leading or tied until the final 30 seconds, Alex Smith only attempted 25 passes. Kelce played nearly every snap and had an efficient night that included an impressive 29-yard catch-and-run, but his volume was disappointing in the wake of a 6-106-2 receiving line (six targets) in Week 1. Kelce should be more involved in the coming weeks, starting with a Week 3 Monday Night Football game in Green Bay.

Kelce (hip) is active for Thursday's game against the Broncos.
Coming off a 6-106-2 receiving line in Week 1, Kelce was a full participant throughout the week of practice. He'll be up against an excellent defense, but the matchup could lead to more targets than usual, as the Broncos boast a fantastic group of cornerbacks. At the very least, Kelce has a better matchup than the Kansas City wide receivers.

Kelce (hip) is listed as probable for Thursday night's game against the Broncos.
Kelce, who has practiced fully this week, is in line Thursday to serve as the Chiefs' top TE and a key target for QB Alex Smith, after catching all six of his targets for 106 yards and a pair of TDs in Week 1's 27-20 win over the Texans.
Mon Sep 14 201523:47Kelce (hip) full participant at practice Monday
Kelce (hip) was a full participant at practice Monday, Terez A. Paylor of the Kansas City Star reports.
Despite landing on the Week 1 injury report with a slightly sprained ankle, Kelce took part in all drills and clearly wasn't the worse for ware Sunday in Houston, racking up six catches for 106 yards and two touchdowns. Carrying a new ailment this week, he appears set on a similar course for Thursday's outing versus the Broncos, who contained Kelce to seven combined receptions (on nine targets) for 117 yards and no scores in two matchups last season.

Kelce turned in a dominant performance Sunday in Houston, catching all six of his targets for 106 yards and two touchdowns.
Kelce displayed an excellent rapport with quarterback Alex Smith, catching both of his touchdowns in the first quarter. The 25-year-old tight end exited the game briefly after suffering an injured abdomen on a big hit, but returned a few plays later. Assuming Kelce shows no ill effects from the injury moving forward, he has the potential to provide elite production at the tight end position moving forward.

Kelce (ankle) is active for Sunday's game at Houston.
Kelce, who is one of Alex Smith's favorite targets, should be just fine for this game.

Coach Andy Reid noted that Kelce (ankle) practiced Monday and "is good to go" in advance of Week 1, Terez A. Paylor of The Kansas City Star reports.
Kelce, who is bouncing back from a slightly sprained ankle, is thus on track to start at tight end for the Chiefs on Sunday against the Texans. Along with wideout Jeremy Maclin, Kelce is poised to be one of QB Alex Smith's top targets in Chiefs' passing game this season.
Tue Sep 1 201514:30Travis Kelce: (Ankle) Dealing With Minor Sprain
Kelce (leg) has been diagnosed with a sprained ankle, and Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said the tight end would likely play in Thursday's preseason game against the Rams if it were a regular-season contest, Adam Teicher of ESPN reports.
Kelce's departure from Monday's practice created some concern, but he's apparently just dealing with a minor sprain. Though he'll still sit out Tuesday's practice and Thursday's preseason game, it sounds as if the Chiefs expect him to be fine for Week 1. If Kelce's injury lingers, James O'Shaughnessy would be next in line, with Demetrius Harris (foot) potentially also playing a role.
Mon Aug 31 201521:01Travis Kelce: Leaves Practice With Leg Injury
Kelce departed Monday's practice early due to a leg injury, the KC Star reports.
Kelce was seen walking off the field under his own power, but at this point the extent of the injury remains unknown, and the Chiefs' training staff said an update will not be available until Tuesday. Assuming he's healthy, the 25-year-old, who hauled in 67 passes for 862 yards and five TDs last season, could be poised for an even bigger season in 2015. While the team brought in Jeremy Maclin from Philadelphia, Kelce remains one of Alex Smith's top targets in what should be a more balanced offense in 2015.

Kelce snagged two passes for 42 yards and a touchdown in Friday's preseason game against the Titans.
Kelce and the other starters played most of the way through the second quarter, and the star tight end put together another solid outing. With little competition for targets outside of Jeremy Maclin, Kelce could be in for a big 2015 campaign if he can stay healthy.

Kelce had two catches for 15 yards on two targets in Saturday's preseason opener against the Cardinals.
Kelce has the requisite athleticism to stretch opposing defenses deep down the field, but his targets in the Kansas City offense mostly came on short passes last season. He still managed to put up a whopping 9.9 yards per target, largely because of his excellent work with the ball in his hands, not to mention a 77-percent catch rate. Kansas City's conservative, Alex Smith-led offense may limit his opportunities to pick up large chunks of yardage, but the expectation of a major increase in snaps means there is still plenty of upside to be had.

Kelce's offseason goals included gaining weight (up to 255 from 250 with a goal of reaching 260), increasing his understanding of the playbook and improving his ball security, the Kansas City Star reports.
Kelce worked on gaining weight to serve better as an inline blocker, and appears to have accomplished part of that goal. His understanding has also reportedly improved, and he's worked on keeping the ball "high and tight" according to head coach Andy Reid. Despite a productive 2014 campaign (67 receptions for 862 yards and five touchdowns), the third-year tight end fumbled four times (lost three) last season, likely costing the team a game against the Raiders as a result. Following the offseason departure of Anthony Fasano, Kelce enters 2015 as the undisputed No. 1 tight end entering the season, and he and Jeremy Maclin should serve as the top two targets in the passing game. Given the way Alex Smith likes to play the position, Kelce could be in for an even bigger season in 2015, possibly placing him among the elite tight ends in the league.
Thu May 28 201511:44Kelce confident he'll be Chiefs' 1st tight end this season
Kelce is confident he'll be the Chiefs' No. 1 tight end this season, NFL.com reports. "I come in and take the role, it's as simple as that," Kelce said. "It's not like it's a hidden secret or anything. I'm probably the most comfortable in the offense for being on the field for an entire year."
Kelce enjoyed a mini-breakout season in 2014, bringing in 67 passes for 862 yards and five touchdowns while playing alongside Anthony Fasano. However, Kelce played just two-thirds of the team's snaps. That number figures to skyrocket this season with Fasano moving on to Tennessee, making Kelce the Chiefs' clear No. 1 tight end and possible No. 1 receiving option, with new addition Jeremy Maclin expected provide the stiffest competition for targets.

Kelce will likely take on a bigger role in the offense in the 2015 season following the release of Anthony Fasano on Thursday.
Kelsey led the Chiefs with 67 catches and 162 receiving yards in 2014, tacking on an additional five receiving touchdowns. Fasano's departure leaves he, Demetrius Harris and Richard Gordon as the Chief's current top three tight ends. He heavily outperformed Fasano in 2014 despite a limited snap count. His expected expansion in the offense should make him one of the better options at tight end heading into the 2015 season should the Chiefs elect to roll with the current corps.

Kelce had seven catches on eight targets for 84 yards, and he recovered a fumble in the end zone during Sunday's win over the Chargers.
Kelce's season ends with 67 catches on 87 targets for 862 yards and five receiving touchdowns, all of which led the team. He established himself as the team's top receiving option, and while the Chiefs are unlikely to go all of next season without a touchdown by a wide receiver like they did this year, Kelce should be expected to be another solid fantasy tight end option.

Kelce caught four passes for 31 yards on seven targets Sunday against the Steelers.
Kelce continues to be an inconsistent option at tight end, following up 110 yards against the Cardinals and 59 yards and a touchdown against the Raiders with a dud Sunday. He will face a Chargers team that allowed 35 points against the 49ers last week, though they allowed just 114 yards through the air. Kelce will likely be a risky option again in Week 17 but he should continue to play as normal with playoff implications on the line.
