McGee is currently penciled in as the starter next to Antonio Smith on the interior of Oakland's line. The ends are Justin Tuck and LaMarr Woodley. McGee, a sixth-round pick last April, started six of the final eight games as a rookie. The Raiders liked his progress as a run defender. McGee will certainly face competition. | ||||||

Raiders sixth-round rookie DT Stacy McGee says the off-field issues that almost derailed his football career are behind him. | ||||||
McGee was popped for DUI and on marijuana charges in two separate incidents while at Oklahoma. They surely contributed to his fall to the sixth round of April's draft. He's now been inserted in the starting lineup next to Pat Sims and has drawn praise from his coaches. "He's starting to learn how powerful he is," DC Jason Tarver said. McGee has earned positive marks on 163 snaps. | ||||||
