Murray rushed for 39 yards on 13 carries and added three catches for 18 yards in Sunday's loss to Denver.
The third-year back has only recorded one 100-yard game this year, and he's currently averaging just 67 yards rushing per game. Murray is a solid asset in PPR leagues however, as he's averaging 3.4 catches per game. Murray is certainly the No. 1 option in the Raiders backfield and they'll continue to feed him ball moving forward. He should have a nice matchup next week against a San Diego defense that ranks 28th in the league in rushing defense at 126.8 yards per game.

Murray (shoulder) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Murray, who is coming off a 15-carry, 49-yard effort this past Sunday against the Bears, will thus take aim Sunday at a rugged Broncos' defense that has surrendered an average of 90.2 rushing yards per game thus far this season.

Murray (shoulder) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Broncos, CSN Bay Area's Scott Bair reports.
Murray followed up a big game in Week 3 against the Browns (26 carries for 139 yards) with a 15-carry, 49-yard effort this past Sunday against the Bears. He'll take aim this weekend at a rugged Denver defense that has allowed an average of 90.2 rushing yards per game to date.
Thu Oct 8 201519:50Murray (shoulder) limited as Thursday's practice
Murray (shoulder) was limited as Thursday's practice, but he's expected to be fine for Sunday's game against the Broncos, the San Francisco Chronicle's Vic Tafur reports.
Though he was limited for a second straight day, Murray doesn't seem to be in any real danger of missing Sunday's game. His matchup is the larger concern, with the Broncos allowing just 3.5 yards per carry and 79 rushing yards per game, despite aleady facing Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles.

Murray (shoulder) was limited at practice Wednesday.
We'll track Murray's status as the week rolls along, but so far there is nothing to suggest that his status for Sunday's game against the Broncos is in any danger. Murray followed up a big game (26 carries for 139 yards in Week 3) with a 15-carry, 49-yard effort this past Sunday against the Bears.

Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio said Murray didn't play the final drive of Sunday's loss to the Bears because the team felt Roy Helu was a better option for the situation, ESPN.com reports.
Although Del Rio said Murray wasn't benched, it was pretty clear that the Raiders kept their workhorse off the field because of his mistakes and poor performance throughout the game. Murray has otherwise been solid in a three-down role, so his pair of miscues (a lost fumble and bobbled pass) shouldn't have much impact on his workload, unless he makes similar mistakes in the coming weeks. Murray draws a dreadful Week 5 matchup with the dominant Broncos defense.

Murray rushed for 49 yards on 16 carries and added three catches for 12 yards in Sunday's loss to Chicago. He lost a fumble during the contest.
Despite the off day, Murray still ranks among the top 10 backs in the league in rushing yards and yards per carry. The fact that Murray is among a dwindling few backs who are a true bell cow for their teams adds to his value. His fumble shouldn't draw too many red flags as it is his only lost fumble in 181 career touches.

Murray carried it 26 times for 139 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's Week 3 matchup against the Browns.
Murray had a monster day in a balanced Raiders' offense that went for 469 yards of total offense on Sunday. He caught one pass for 10 yards to give him a total of 27 touches on the day which was very promising for fantasy owners. Murray is clearly the main workhorse in the Raiders' offense and if they continue to throw it around as successfully as they have over the last two games, the third-year back should have some large holes to run through. Murray will get a matchup against the Bears in Week 4.

Murray had 15 rushes for 65 yards with a touchdown and caught all three of his targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 37-33 win over Baltimore.
Murray had a long rush of only nine yards, but still averaged a respectable 4.3 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Taiwan Jones was the only other running back to carry the ball, and he had just two rushes for nine yards. It was a nice rebound performance for Murray, who had the benefit of playing with Derek Carr for an entire game, after the young QB left Week 1's loss to Cincinnati early. Murray will face a solid Browns' defense in Week 3.

Murray tallied 44 yards on 11 carries and also caught seven passes for 36 yards in Sunday's Week 1 opener against the Bengals.
The Raiders' offense struggled today after quarterback Derek Carr left with a hand injury, but Murray still had a fairly productive day, especially in PPR leagues. Murray is without a doubt going to be the workhorse out of the backfield in 2015 and if Carr's injury causes him to miss any extended time, the Raiders will likely feed Murray the ball even more. The third-year back will get another tough matchup in Week 2 when the Raiders play at home against the Ravens.

Murray gained one yard on seven carries in Sunday's preseason game against the Cardinals.
One of Murray's carries went for 13 yards, so the other six obviously weren't pretty. He's still locked in as Oakland's lead back, and the offensive line should actually be decent, or perhaps even pretty good. It was just one bad showing, in a small sample size, against one of the NFL's better front sevens.

Murray carried the ball four times for 20 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's preseason game against the Vikings.
After showing flashes of brilliance last season and having enjoyed a strong training camp to this point, Murray appears set to begin the season as the unquestioned starter in an Oakland backfield that also rosters the likes of Trent Richardson, Roy Helu, Taiwan Jones, Michael Dyer and George Atkinson.

Murray had six carries for 35 yards in Friday's preseason opener against the Rams.
Murray played the first two drives of the game before giving way to Trent Richardson, who picked up 18 yards on five carries of his own. Murray is set to lead the Oakland backfield, but Roy Helu (undisclosed) will likely handle a good chunk of the passing-down work and Richardson may have a shot to carve out some kind of role.

Murray has been seeing the Raiders' first-team running back reps in training camp, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
That trend continued Thursday, as Trent Richardson -- in his return to practice -- saw plenty of second-team reps behind Murray. Meanwhile, Roy Helu and Michael Dyer are dealing with undisclosed injuries, but at this stage, the pecking order behind Murray is less settled than the notion that he will head the Raiders' backfield out of the gate. At 6-foot-3, and in the 225-230 pound range, Murray also possesses breakaway speed, attributes that lead GM Reggie McKenzie to believe that the 25-year-old back out of Central Florida is up to the task of leading the Oakland running back corps. "No question," McKenzie said of Murray. "He can do it all."

Everything at Raiders training camp has suggested that Murray will lead the backfield, according to Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle.
Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio said in June that Murray is the favorite to start, confirming what was widely expected. Unless he struggles badly during training camp and the preseason, Murray should have every opportunity to lead the Oakland rushing attack. Roy Helu is probably best suited to a backup role, though he could also get a large share of the passing-down work.

Coach Jack Del Rio said Wednesday that Murray is the leader in the clubhouse for the starting running back job in 2015, Lev Facher of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
With the Raiders' minicamp winding down, Del Rio's statement comes as little surprise considering the state of the running back corps, which includes Trent Richardson, Roy Helu, and Taiwan Jones as Murray's primary competition. While his final tally of 5.2 YPC was powered by a 90-yard run in Week 12, Murray still chipped in 4.1 YPC in his other 81 scampers in 2014, implying his general effectiveness. If he holds onto the job through training camp, he'll be embarking upon his first full profession season, with few previous reps to hinder his potential workload.

Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio said Thursday that Murray is a candidate to lead the team's backfield, the San Francisco Chronicle's Vic Tafur reports.
Del Rio said Murray needs to work on his awareness and football IQ, but Oakland's new coach also praised the running back for his combination of size and speed. While the Raiders will likely bring in competition of some sort, Murray remains the clear favorite to open 2015 as the starter. Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew were both unimpressive in 2014, and it's possible neither will be back with the team next season.

Murray rushed for 424 yards and two touchdowns on 82 attempts, and caught 17 passes on 23 targets for 143 yards, in 15 games in 2014.
After sitting out his entire rookie season with an ankle injury, Murray was limited mostly to kick return duty to begin 2014, seeing just four carries in the Raiders' first six games. As the tandem of Darren McFadden and Maurice Jones-Drew continued to struggle, and the Raiders continued to lose, eventually the decision was made to give Murray a look in the primary role. He made an impact right away, rushing for 112 yards and two touchdowns on just four carries against the Chiefs in Week 12 before leaving the game with a concussion. Murray then exceeded 4.0 yards per carry in just one of his final four games, but he finished with four rushes of 20-plus yards and 18 rushes for first downs. By comparison, McFadden had just one rush of 20-plus yards and 20 first downs on 73 more attempts. Unless the Raiders add a premiere running back in the draft, Murray will likely open 2015 as the team's top option.

Murray had 10 carries for 37 yards and caught 4-of-4 targets for 60 yards in Sunday's 47-14 loss at Denver.
The game was close in the first half, but got out of hand late, limiting Murray's opportunities as a ball carrier. He did establish a career high in receiving yardage, and was the only Raiders' offensive player to do anything. He came on strong late in the year, when Oakland finally gave up on Darren McFadden, and showed some major upside, with his game-breaking speed. He is extremely tall for a RB at 6-3, so it will be interesting to see if he can hold up for an entire season, given his upright running style. In any event, he could be a big part of Oakland's offense in 2015, assuming the team doesn't draft a RB early.

Murray rushed for 86 yards on 23 carries and added three catches on four targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 26-24 win over the Bills.
Murray couldn't get anything going early on, with just five yards on five first-quarter carries, but the coaching staff remained committed to him and the second-year back was able to find more success as the defense wore down. While he is now averaging just 3.8 yards per carry in three games since his four-carry, 112-yard, two-touchdown breakout back in Week 12, Murray has brought a big-play element to the Raiders' rushing attack -- he has ripped off a 20-plus yard run in four of his last five games -- and has earned the right to close out the year as the team's workhorse.
