Jones completed 10-of-19 passes for 172 yards with two touchdowns and an interception Sunday against Green Bay.
Jones is getting an extended look this preseason with multiple injuries to Bruce Gradkowski. Through three games, Jones has completed 49-of-97 passes for 500 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions, and is making a case to back-up Ben Roethlisberger even if Gradkowski is healthy.

Jones faces competition as the back-up to Ben Roethlisberger, now that Bruce Gradkowski (shoulder) has been activated from the PUP list, according to ESPN.com.
Through two preseason games Jones, who has never thrown a pass in a regular season game, has completed 39-of-78 passes for 328 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Gradkowski, who has served as a back-up most of his career, is more familiar with the Steelers' offense, but is only a 52.9-percent passer himself. Neither is a viable fantasy option at this time.

Jones played all of Sunday's Hall of Fame Game against the Vikings, completing 16-of-32 passes for 135 yards in a 14-3 loss.
Backup tight end Jesse James did Jones no favors, dropping an easy touchdown and fumbling away a reception. Still, Jones was largely responsible for his own stat line, with his lack of accuracy and composure playing a big role in a three-point showing for the Pittsburgh offense. To be fair, Jones spent much of the game throwing to players who won't make the final roster, as the Steelers held out all of their key playmakers Sunday night. The former fourth-round draft pick hopes to beat out Bruce Gradkowski for the backup QB job.

Jones will start Sunday's first preseason game against the Vikings.
Jones' starting opportunity only comes as a result of Ben Roethlisberger not being expected to play in the Steelers' opening exhibition contest. Still, it's worth noting that Jones, and not veteran Bruce Gradkowski, will get the first chance in the preseason to impress as Roethlisberger's projected primary backup.
Thu Jun 5 201422:33Landry Jones struggling with accuracy
Steelers 2013 fourth-round pick Landry Jones is struggling with accuracy for the second straight offseason.
Per the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Jones' "passes are not finding their mark," and it's been an issue through five OTA practices after Jones managed a 45.5 completion rate last preseason. Jones is at least aware, conceding "probably some accuracy issues" have been his biggest downfall. Jones completed 66 percent of his passes as a senior at Oklahoma. "Yeah, but the windows were a lot bigger," he admitted. "Everything contracts; it's a lot different here."

Fri Aug 9 201313:15Landry Jones 'struggling' in Steelers camp
According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, rookie QB Landry Jones has "struggled" through two weeks of Steelers camp.
"I think we're going to find out a lot about where he is after Saturday night," said coach Mike Tomlin, referencing Pittsburgh's preseason opener. No details on Jones' struggles are available, but he's competing with John Parker Wilson to be the third-stringer and isn't putting heat on backup Bruce Gradkowski.

Thu Jun 13 201315:05Steelers get QB Landry Jones under contract
Steelers signed fourth-round QB Landry Jones to a four-year contract.
The maddeningly inconsistent Jones looked like a future first-round pick at times in college, but he sees ghosts in the pocket and crumbles under pressure. He'll be the No. 3 behind Ben Roethlisberger and Bruce Gradkoswki as a rookie, but some think the Steelers will try to groom Jones as Big Ben's successor.
