Austin caught two passes on six targets for just six yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Packers. He also ran the ball three times for another 22 yards.
The mercurial receiver made a minimal impact in the passing game after posting his best line of the season in Week 5, but he was able to salvage this performance with his fourth touchdown in the last two games. Austin's contributions in the receiving department have been all over the map this season, but the Rams are committed to putting the ball in his hands in the running game and on special teams as well, affording him a number of ways to generate fantasy production. The Rams will take on the Browns in Week 7, after their upcoming bye.

Austin had six receptions on seven targets for 96 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 24-22 upset win at Arizona. He also had two carries for 20 yards.
Austin caught a 12-yard touchdown early in the game, a 47-yard bomb from QB Nick Foles at one point in the first half, and added another 12-yard score in the fourth quarter. The Rams have been trying to keep Austin involved, but this was easily his best game of the season as a receiver. He'll try to put up another big performance in Week 5 at Green Bay.
Mon Sep 28 201518:17Tavon Austin:
Austin registered five receptions on Sunday, converting them into 38 yards in a 12-6 loss to Pittsburgh.
This was actually a pretty productive game for Austin, as he rarely gets up to five receptions. He didn't break anything loose, but still had a decent contest. Unless he scores on a long touchdown, however, he isn't going to get enough touches most week to carry much fantasy weight.

Austin rushed four times for a team-high 40 yards and had one catch on three targets for six receiving yards during Sunday's loss at Washington.
Austin continues to provide little in the passing game, and while he was able to lead the team in rushing yards, it was mostly because Tre Mason (seven carries for 26 yards) and Benny Cunningham (one carry for zero yards) were so unproductive. The Rams are clearly trying to find ways to get Austin the ball in space, but because he's such a limited receiver, he makes for a very inconsistent fantasy option.

Austin rushed four times for 17 yards and a touchdown, caught two passes on five targets for minus-2 yards, and returned a punt 75 yards for a touchdown Sunday against the Seahawks.
Austin has always showed electric speed with an ability to break open a play any time he touches the ball, but he struggles to get consistent looks in the passing game and needs an open field created for him instead of making the space himself. He got a few more reps in the passing game because Brian Quick was inactive, and with so many other options in the passing game, Austin's fantasy upside is still rather limited unless they develop a game plan specifically built around getting him a high number of touches.

Austin caught one pass for 35 yards in Friday's 18-3 preseason loss to the Raiders.
Austin's one catch was a screen that he took quite a ways before getting tackled. This would be the way the Rams would most like to use Austin, with quick shots that put him in a lot of open space, and he will likely see some carries in the regular season as well.

Austin nearly matched his receiving totals with his rushing yardage in 2014, putting up 242 yards through the air and 224 yards on the ground.
Austin did not have a solid fantasy season, as he failed to score a receiving touchdown or more than four receptions in a single game. While the Rams did use him a little more in the running game, he never combined for more than 60 yards in a game.

Austin caught 2-of-4 targets for 14 yards, adding one reception for eight yards, in Thursday's 12-6 loss to the Cardinals.
Austin started over Stedman Bailey and rarely left the field, yet the former first-round draft pick finished with between 10 and 20 receiving yards for an eighth consecutive week. Austin's actually done more damage on the ground than through the air over the last four weeks, but it's impossible to count on consistent running production from a wideout. While the increased snaps are indicative of a desire to get Austin more involved, that's yet to play out in terms of targets or receptions.
Tue Dec 9 201413:02Austin in for 66 percent of snaps at wideout
Austin was in for 66 percent of snaps at wideout, and collected two catches for 14 yards to go with 46 yards rushing and a punt return for touchdown on Sunday, Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Austin has scored in three straight games and is being used more and more creatively by the Rams. If you badly need a receiver in a non-PPR league, Austin may still be available.
Sun Dec 7 201411:38Austin (back) active for Sunday's game against Washington
Austin (back) is active for Sunday's game against Washington.
Injury-wise, Austin should be fine for this one. He has topped 50 total yards just once all season, but if you're scraping the bottom of the barrel for options this week, consider that the Redskins have given up a whopping 26 passing scores and Austin has a touchdown in back-to-back games.
Fri Dec 5 201421:51Austin (back) probable for Sunday's game against Washington
Austin (back) is probable for Sunday's game against Washington.
Austin was added to the injury report Friday as a limited participant, which would normally be a concern, but the probable tag is reassuring. With that said, Austin's hit-or-miss role and questionable efficiency as a receiver make him a risky fantasy investment in most cases.

Austin caught a pair of passes for 11 yards and added two carries for 24 yards and a score in a 52-0 victory over Oakland on Sunday.
Austin only has two touchdowns on the year, but both have come in the last two weeks. His numbers are by no means overpowering, with 34 catches for 186 yards and 25 rushes for 144 yards, but he does seem to be on the uptick. He has five rushes for 51 yards and two touchdowns his last two weeks.

Austin played 50 snaps in Sunday's 27-24 loss to San Diego, catching three passes for 11 yards and rushing three times for 27 yards and a touchdown.
Austin is rarely leaving the field as of late, with the Rams settling into a three wide receiver setup along with Kenny Britt and Stedman Bailey. He had a decent fantasy day Sunday, which have been few and far between for him, but it appears the Rams are at least trying to get him more involved in the offense.

Austin caught a pair of passes for 11 yards and rushed twice for seven yards in a 13-10 win against San Francisco on Sunday.
Austin moved up the depth chart with the injury to Brian Quick, but did not take much advantage on Sunday. Austin has only 13 catches for 123 yards in eight games, and should not be relied upon for fantasy contributions at this point.

Austin caught 4-of-5 targets for 35 yards and gained 16 yards on three carries in Monday's 31-17 loss to the 49ers.
Austin now has eight carries for 42 yards in four appearances, but he's still only a small part of the passing game. It's quite telling that this was comfortably his best showing of the season.

Austin (knee) caught both passes thrown his way for 33 yards Sunday against the Eagles.
The Rams seemingly still haven't figured out how to use Austin effectively, failing to get him with the ball in space. He missed Week 3 due to a knee injury, but didn't appear to be slowed by it Sunday. It's possible he wasn't given a carry due to the knee concern, but ultimately he's just not getting enough targets to justify starting in most fantasy leagues.
Sun Oct 5 201411:33Austin (knee) active for Sunday's game against Eagles
Austin (knee) is active for Sunday's game against the Eagles.
Austin was a game-time decision after being limited in practice all week, but he apparently did enough in pregame warmups to warrant his active status. While his knee injury hasn't help, it's been a very disappointing season so far for Austin, who has three catches on four targets for 34 yards this season.
Sun Oct 5 201409:33Austin (knee) expected to return to action Sunday against Eagles
Austin (knee) is expected to return to action Sunday against the Eagles, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Austin, who suffered a sprained knee in Week 2, thus appears slated to return to the Rams' Week 5 wideout mix, though we'd like to see him get a full and productive game in before endorsing him as a lineup option.

Austin (knee) won't have his Sunday status determined until St. Louis' 1:00 eastern time kickoff.
Austin was a limited practice participant all week, but it looks like the team will monitor his knee's reaction to the stress before deciding whether he'll suit up against the Eagles.

Austin (knee) is questionable for Sunday's game against Philadelphia.
With limited practices logged in each day this week, Austin seems to have a good chance at returning from his knee injury Sunday. Unfortunately, his second season has been quite disappointing so far, and it's hard to reliably predict when Austin might make a fantasy impact.
