Robinson injured his MCL against in Week 2 and hasn't practiced since, with the running back's Week 6 status cloudy as well. T.J. Yeldon heads the Jags' rushing attack, in any case, though Robinson figures to reclaim a complementary role in the team's backfield once he returns to health.

We'll revisit Robinson's status Friday, but he's iffy, at best, for Sunday's game against the Bucs at this stage.

As Week 3 approaches, it's looking more and more likely that Robinson's sprained knee will keep him off the field against New England. Robinson rushed just one time for nine yards in Week 2's win over Miami before exiting the game.

Robinson is expected to see enough work this season to make him fantasy relevant, although the big take away from Friday's preseason game is that Yeldon is likely to receive all the goal line work, which isn't much of a surprise given his superior size to the former Michigan QB.

Robinson had four carries for 22 yards in Friday night's preseason opener against Pittsburgh. He was the starting running back with rookie T.J. Yeldon sitting out due to a finger injury.

As new offensive coordinator Greg Olson stated during the offseason, the Jaguars committed to the running game Friday, despite averaging just 3.1 yards per carry. Robinson is currently listed as a co-starter along with the rookie Yeldon, so this is a position battle worth monitoring in the coming weeks.

Robinson is expected to sub in for T.J. Yeldon at the beginning of certain possessions, the Florida Times-Union reports.

Robinson showed some explosiveness on his 135 carries (4.3 YPC) last season, but second-round rookie T.J. Yeldon is the heavy favorite to enter Week 1 as the starter. Toby Gerhart may also have some kind of role, so Robinson will need to fight for his touches. The former college quarterback will also compete to return kickoffs.

Robinson is past the foot injury that ended his 2014 season, the Florida Times-Union reports.

Per the report, Robinson, who landed on IR after Week 14 last season, indicated that he was cleared to do everything back in February, which puts him in line to re-establish a role in a Jags' backfield that also includes Toby Gerhart, Storm Johnson, Bernard Pierce and possibly another option via the upcoming NFL draft. Prior to his injury, Robinson carried 135 times for a team-high 582 yards, with four TDs, to go along with 23 catches for 124 yards in 13 games for the Jags.

Robinson, who was placed on IR after Week 14 due to a mid-foot sprain, pried the starting job away from Toby Gerhart midway through the season and immediately turned in a pair of impressive, 100-plus yard performances. He followed up with a 94-yard, one-touchdown effort the following week but struggled the rest of the way, failing to top 60 yards in any of his final four games. Heading into next season, Robinson figures to have the inside track on the starting job, but it remains to be seen whether he can be a true starting-caliber back in a successful offense. Toby Gerhart will likely be given the opportunity to earn back some carries, and it wouldn't be a surprise if Jacksonville addressed the running back position at some point in the draft. As for Robinson's foot sprain, he was initially given a 6-to-8 week recovery timetable, so he should be close to 100 percent by the time the playoffs wrap up.

Robinson's statistical regression continues, as he's now rushed for fewer than 50 yards in each of his last three contests. He remains the No. 1 running back ahead of Toby Gerhart and Jordan Todman, but his workload has decreased of late, as he's carried the ball progressively fewer times since the the Cleveland game (22 carries) on Oct. 19. Robinson also did not catch a pass for the first time since that win over the Browns, despite being targeted twice by Blake Bortles.
