Eifert had eight catches on 12 targets for 90 yards and two touchdowns Sunday against the Seahawks.
Eifert scored three touchdowns in the first two games of the season and then had three catches for 69 yards in the next two games combined -- including a donut in Week 3 against the Ravens. He bounced back in a big way Sunday, and he is now tied with James Jones and Larry Fitzgerald for the NFL lead in receiving touchdowns. Up next is a tough Week 6 matchup at Buffalo before the Bengals' bye.

Eifert caught three of his four targets for 69 yards in Sunday's game against the Chiefs.
The third-year pro bounced back to finish third on the team in receiving after being held without a catch in Week 3, putting up his second-highest receiving total of the season. Eifert has struggled to repeat his 104-yard, two-touchdown game from Week 1, but he remains one of the better red zone threats among tight ends. The Bengals will face a Seahawks defense in Week 3 that has been relatively vulnerable against tight ends this season.

Eifert didn't catch a pass against three targets in Sunday's win over the Ravens.
Eifert had a touchdown called back on a controversial replay review - the catch rule invoked more famously against Calvin Johnson and Dez Bryant in the past was applied here as well. He was also called upon to block more often against the Ravens aggressive blitz scheme, as the Ravens' pass rush got to Andy Dalton more frequently than the Raiders and Chargers did.

Eifert nabbed four passes on five targets for 49 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's win over the Chargers.
Sunday wasn't quite as good as Week 1's nine-catch-two-touchdown performance, but he managed to find the end zone while split out wide. Eifert has lead the Bengals in targets in each of the first two weeks of the season, and his versatility and ability to create mismatches should mean that the passes will continue to come his way. The Bengals like to pound the ball and have A.J. Green on the outside, so performances like Week 1 may be hard to come by. Games like Sunday's against the Chargers could be the very-solid norm, however.

Eifert hauled in 9 receptions for 104 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 33-13 win over Oakland.
Sunday was more along the lines of what the Bengals had in mind when they drafted Eifert in the first round in 2013. After missing virtually all of last season to a dislocated elbow, Eifert led the Bengals in targets on Sunday with 12. Game plans change week to week, but Eifert showed off a good rapport with Andy Dalton and, even when not the focal point of the offense, could vulture touchdowns throughout the season as a dangerous red-zone target.

Eifert caught both of his targets for 30 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Bears.
Andy Dalton (neck) was forced out of the game, leaving Eifert to work with A.J. McCarron, who completed 12 of 17 passes for 149 yards and a touchdown. Eifert is a popular breakout candidate and has reportedly been excellent in training camp, but there is some concern about his workload in an offense that figures to rely on Jeremy Hill and A.J. Green. Eifert is likely done for the preseason with five catches for 67 yards in three games.

Andy Dalton has frequently targeted Eifert throughout training camp, the Bengals'official website reports.
Eifert has been one of the standout performers at Bengals camp, with multiple reports referring to him as "uncoverable" or "always open". Now that he's healthy and Jermaine Gresham is no longer on the roster, the third-year Notre Dame product is looking at an expanded role in the offense, potentially even emerging as Andy Dalton's second-favorite target behind A.J. Green. Of course, Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson loves to run the ball, and WR Marvin Jones is also healthy after losing all of 2014 to an injury.

Eifert (elbow/shoulder) indicated that he feels as though he is at 100 percent for the first time since the beginning of the Bengals' 2014 OTAs, Paul Dehner Jr. of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
With Jermaine Gresham no longer rostered by the Bengals, opportunity knocks for the 2013 first-rounder. While 2015 draftees Tyler Kroft and C.J. Uzomah slot in as backup options for the Bengals at the tight end position, with Gresham not around to absorb targets, Eifert appears primed for a bounce-back this year, on the heels of a 2014 campaign in which he caught just three passes for 37 yards in one regular season contest.
Mon Jun 22 201512:03Although Bengals took cautious approach during OTAs and minicamp
Although the Bengals took a cautious approach during OTAs and minicamp, Eifert appears to be fully recovered from last season's shoulder and elbow injuries, ESPN.com reports.
Eifert was somewhat limited during offseason practices, but he'll likely be a full participant in training camp. With Jermaine Gresham no longer around, the 2013 first-round pick is expected to take on a larger role in the offense, possibly even serving as Andy Dalton's No. 2 target. Eifert is one of the league's most physically-gifted tight ends, and he reportedly looked excellent in his limited work this offseason. Of course, he'll be playing in an offense that wants to focus on the running game, and WR Marvin Jones (ankle/foot) is also returning from a major injury to compete for targets.

Eifert, who dealt with an elbow injury last season and is still bouncing back from shoulder surgery, expects to be fully recovered by the time training camp begins, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
At this stage, Eifert -- who played just one game last season -- has to avoid contact to his surgically-repaired shoulder, but he is able to run routes and catch passes as he continues his rehab. With Jermaine Gresham still unsigned and unlikely to return to the Bengals, draft picks Tyler Kroft and C.J. Uzomah were added to bolster the team's TE depth. Assuming no setbacks though, Eifert will open the season atop the team's depth chart at the position, poised for a fantasy breakout after combining for 42 catches for 482 yards and two TDs over his first 16 NFL contests.
Mon Apr 20 201517:42Eifert (elbow) one of few tight ends on Bengals' current roster
Eifert (elbow) is one of few tight ends on the Bengals' current roster, which could change following next week's NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Eifert, who played merely eight snaps last season due to elbow and shoulder complications, is currently the unquestioned starting tight end on the Bengals' roster. However, given Eifert's trouble staying healthy, as well as little depth behind him, Cincinnati is expected to target tight ends some time in the upcoming NFL Draft. With long-time Bengal Jermaine Gresham unlikely to be re-signed, it appears Eifert will assume vastly increased responsibilities this season, should he keep a clean bill of health.
Fri Dec 26 201413:24Eifert
Eifert, who has been on IR/designated to return with an elbow injury, has undergone season-ending shoulder surgery, the Bengals' official site reports.
Per the report, Eifert -- who suffered a dislocated elbow in Week 1 -- was destined for offseason shoulder surgery due to an injury that he suffered in training camp, in any case. When it became clear that the tight end's elbow wasn't responding as hoped, Eifert went ahead and had his shoulder issue addressed, with an eye toward being fully recovered well in advance of the 2015 campaign.

Coach Marvin Lewis noted Friday that Eifert (elbow, IR/designated to return) is "progressing," ESPN.com reports.
When asked Friday if he thought there was a chance that Eifert could return this season, Lewis said yes, but such an outcome is not imminent, with the report suggesting a potential scenario in which the tight end may get back into the playing rotation during the final three weeks of the regular season.

Coach Marvin Lewis acknowledged that there is a chance that Eifert (elbow, IR/designated to return) may not return this season, ESPN's Coley Harvey reports.
Based on that assessment, it's clear that the tight end's return is not imminent as Week 11's game against the Saints approaches. In Eifert's continued absence, Jermaine Gresham is in line to remain the Bengals' top option at the position.
Wed Oct 29 201414:53Eifert (elbow
Eifert (elbow, IR/designated to return) proceeded to the rehab field during Wednesday's practice, the Bengals' official site reports.
Though Eifert is eligible to play as soon as a week from Thursday in Week 10's contest against the Browns, the report suggests that at this stage it doesn't look like the tight end will be ready for that contest. We'll let you know if optimism on that front increases in the coming days, though it's worth noting that the Cincinnati Enquirer previously suggested that a potential Week 11 return to action for Eifert appears to be a more plausible scenario.

Eifert (elbow) has been placed on the Bengals' injured reserve/designated to return list, ESPN reports.
Eifert suffered a gruesome-looking dislocated elbow during the first half of the Bengals' season opener and now won't be able to return until Cincinnati's Week 11 game in New Orleans. As a result, fellow tight end Jermaine Gresham should experience a welcomed boost in his fantasy stock, as he could rival running back Gio Bernard to be the Bengals' second option in their passing game behind star wideout A.J. Green.

The Bengals believe that Eifert dislocated his elbow Sunday against the Ravens, NFL Network's Albert Breer reports.
Such an injury would sideline him for some time, so if the fears are justified, Breer suggests that Eifert could be a candidate for the team's IR-designated for return designation. Such a scenario would would of course boost the value of fellow Bengals' TE Jermaine Gresham.
Sun Sep 7 201413:41Eifert exited Sunday's game against Ravens with elbow injury
Eifert exited Sunday's game against the Ravens with an elbow injury, NFL.com reports.
Eifert went down after making a catch and pretty obviously appeared to have suffered a dislocated elbow. The second-year tight end has since been taken to the Bengals' locker room for further evaluation and is now considered doubtful to return to action. Prior to exiting Sunday's game, Eifert led the Bengals with three catches for 37 yards. Should Eifert be sidelined for the remainder of Week 1, Jermaine Gresham should benefit from facing significantly less competition for targets at tight end.
Sun Sep 7 201411:44Eifert (shoulder) active for Sunday's game against Ravens
Eifert (shoulder) is active for Sunday's game against the Ravens.
Eifert assuaged most of the concern about his shoulder injury by practicing fully all week, but with Jermaine Gresham still around to steal reps at tight end, it's still difficult to buy into him as a clear-cut starting option in fantasy leagues for Week 1. Given his physical gifts as well as the presence of A.J. Green on the outside to occupy most of the attention from the defense, Eifert certainly has the ability to break out in his sophomore season. However, Gresham may need to miss time with an injury in order to truly feel bullish about Eifert's prospects.

Eifert (shoulder) is probable for Sunday's game against the Ravens after practicing fully all week, the Bengals' official site reports.
Eifert is set to work in tandem with fellow TE Jermaine Gresham in Week 1, a potential time-share that could turn both players into hit-or-miss fantasy options out of the gate.
