Thompson was helped off the field by team trainers after suffering an apparent knee injury covering a punt. The Lions have yet to disclose the severity of Thompson's injury, but he did leave for the locker room shortly after coming off the field. The Ohio University alum spent most of last season on Detroit's practice squad.
