Brown (illness) is listed as active Sunday at Tampa Bay.
Brown's team-high snap count among wide receivers has yet to translate in the box score, as he sits in a tie with Jerricho Cotchery (ankle) and Mike Tolbert (groin) with seven targets through three games. Even with Cotchery out Sunday, Brown still must contend with Greg Olsen (28 targets) and Ted Ginn (22 targets) for looks in the Panthers' passing attack.

Brown (illness) is listed as probable for Sunday's game in Tampa Bay.
Brown logged full practices Thursday and Friday, suggesting that his illness was only a minor issue. He leads all Carolina wideouts in snaps, yet still has just five catches for 70 yards and a touchdown on seven targets through three games. Despite playing fewer snaps than his teammate, Ted Ginn seems to have emerged as Cam Newton's second-favorite option behind target-hogging tight end Greg Olsen.
Thu Oct 1 201515:22Brown (illness) practiced fully Thursday
Brown (illness) practiced fully Thursday, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.
Brown was sidelined by an illness Wednesday, which has diminished to the point that he was unhindered in drills Thursday. Despite racking up a team-leading 76 percent of the offensive snaps this season, he's managed a measly five receptions for 70 yards and one touchdown on seven targets.
Thu Oct 1 201511:14Brown (illness) returned to practice Thursday
Brown (illness) returned to practice Thursday, Joe Person of the Charlotte Observer reports.
Brown sat out Wednesday's session with an illness, but he's back on the field Thursday and should be expected to play in Week 4. While Brown has logged the highest snap count of any Panthers receiver, eh has just five catches for 70 yards and one score on the season.
Wed Sep 30 201516:04Brown missed Wednesday's practice due to illness
Brown missed Wednesday's practice due to an illness.
Brown has logged the most snaps of any Panthers wideout this season -- 76 percent of the offensive snaps versus 61 percent for Ted Ginn and 44 percent for Devin Funchess -- but Ginn and tight end Greg Olsen have received the bulk of Cam Newton's passes this season. Meanwhile, Brown has just five catches (on seven targets) for 70 yards and a touchdown through three games. Once his current bout with an illness subsides, owners will hope that his significant usage translates to tallies in the box score.

Brown caught three passes on four targets for 57 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's game against the Texans.
The second-year pro made the most of the few looks he received, finishing second on the team in receiving yardage thanks largely to a beautiful 36-yard leaping touchdown catch. Brown has an opportunity to earn more playing time this season, with few viable receiving options ahead of him on the Panthers roster, and he will look to build on Sunday's performance when the Saints come to town in Week 3.

Brown caught two passes (on three targets) for 13 yards in Sunday's season opener against the Jaguars.
Brown and teammate Ted Ginn were named the Panthers' starting wideouts ahead of Sunday's game and although Ginn led the team in receiving yards and targets, Brown had a rather quiet performance. With more proven pass-catchers like Greg Olsen and Jerricho Cotchery, and rookie second-rounder Devin Funchess coming along, Brown will need to impose himself more moving forward to maintain his current depth chart standing.

Coach Ron Rivera has named Brown and Ted Ginn as his starting wideouts for Sunday's season opener against the Jaguars, ESPN.com reports.
With top wideout Kelvin Benjamin on IR, 6-foot-4 rookie Devin Funchess is the player with the more intriguing fantasy upside down the road, but Brown's speed gives him a chance to be a contributor in the Panthers' offense out of the gate. Of course with Ginn, Jerricho Cotchery and Kevin Norwood also candidates to factor in early on, a wait-and-see approach is in order for Brown, who caught 21 passes for 296 yards and two TDs in 13 games for Carolina last season.

Brown had one catch on seven targets for five yards in Friday's preseason game against New England.
It was another tough game for Brown, who dropped at least two passes, including an easy 30-yard touchdown from Cam Newton. On the play, Brown made a nice double move to beat cornerback Malcolm Butler, but simply dropped the ball at the edge of the goal line. He's probably got the most upside of any Carolina pass catcher, other than rookie Devin Funchess (hamstring), although his struggles this preseason have really hurt his own cause.

Brown did not catch any of his three targets in Saturday's preseason game against the Dolphins.
The Panthers opened the game in a one-wide formation with Brown getting the start in place of Kelvin Benjamin (torn ACL), who will miss the entire 2015 season. Brown gained nine yards on a reverse but otherwise struggled, dropping one pass and missing a tough touchdown grab on another. Previously expected to rotate with a few other players at the No. 2 receiver spot, Brown figures to see more snaps and targets in Benjamin's absence, but the extent of the uptick is unclear. Devin Funchess, Ted Ginn, Jerricho Cotchery and Jarret Boykin are also vying for expanded roles.
Tue Aug 11 201512:27Brown listed as starter on Panthers' initial depth chart
Brown is listed as a starter on the Panthers' initial depth chart, the team's official website reports.
It's a designation that probably doesn't mean much, as Panthers head coach Ron Rivera said Tuesday that he envisions a committee at the No. 2 wide receiver spot, according to ESPN's David Newton. It's essentially Kelvin Benjamin and then everyone else, with Brown competing against Devin Funchess, Jerrico Cotchery and a few other players for snaps. Even if he doesn't get much playing time in two-wide sets, Brown does have a shot to emerge as the team's slot receiver in three-wide formations.

Brown finished his rookie season with 21 receptions (on 36 targets) for 296 yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed eight times for 95 yards across 13 games played.
Brown made the Panthers' regular season roster on the heels of an impressive preseason that saw him earn Carolina's punt and kickoff return jobs. However, once the season started, the undrafted rookie developed as the sort of speedy slot receiver the team previously lacked. While Brown's season-end totals are fairly meager from a fantasy perspective, he could become of value in the deepest leagues if he continues to make strides as a pass catcher.

Brown (shoulder) is active for Saturday's game against Seattle.
Brown wasn't able to practice much this week, logging just two limited practices heading into Saturday, but he's evidently ready to return from his shoulder issue. He has a poor matchup, of course, playing on the road against the Seahawks.

Brown (shoulder) is questionable for Saturday's game against the Seahawks.
The designation isn't surprising, as Brown failed to practice Wednesday, and then was limited on Thursday. If Brown can't play in Saturday's game, Brenton Bersin will likely work as the No. 3 receiver.
Thu Jan 8 201512:54Brown (shoulder) participated in Thursday's workout
Brown (shoulder) participated in Thursday's workout, the Charlotte Observer reports.
While that's a step in the right direction for Brown, a bigger test with regard to his availability for Saturday's game against the Seahawks figures to be on tap during the Panthers' walk-through Friday, at which point the team plans to evaluate how the wideout's shoulder responds to contact.
Wed Jan 7 201514:35Brown (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday
Brown (shoulder) did not practice Wednesday, ESPN.com reports.
Brown remains listed as day-to-day in advance of Saturday's playoff game against the Seahawks. If he is out or limited at all in the contest, Brenton Bersin would figure to see added work for the Panthers this weekend.
Tue Jan 6 201514:39Brown (shoulder) worked on side during Wednesday's practice
Brown (shoulder) worked on the side during Wednesday's practice, Steve Reed of the Associated Press reports.
Brown, who was knocked out of Saturday's Wild Card game, is progressing well but coach Ron Rivera said he will assess the receiver Wednesday. At this point, Brown should still be considered day-to-day, and his activity level at Wednesday and Thursday's sessions will ultimately determine his status for the Panthers' matchup with Seattle.
Sun Jan 4 201520:56Philly Brown: Considered Day-To-Day
Brown (shoulder) is day-to-day, ESPN's David Newton reports.
Brown was knocked out of Saturday's wild-card game, leaving Brenton Bersin as the Panthers' No. 3 wide receiver. The Carolina passing game has a dreadful matchup in the divisional round, as few opposing quarterbacks have found success at CenturyLink Field over the past three seasons.

Brown (shoulder) has been ruled out for the remainder of Saturday's game against Arizona.
Before leaving the game, Brown continued to build on his promising rookie year, tying Greg Olsen for team leads of three catches for 37 yards, and he nearly had a touchdown catch on the play where he suffered the injury.

Brown left during the second quarter of Saturday's game against Arizona with an upper body injury.
Brown landed hard and appeared to injure his shoulder injury after a Cam Newton pass sailed too high in the end zone. Brown appeared to be in quite a bit of pain, so he might be done for the day. Brown tied Greg Olsen for the team lead of three catches for 37 yards before leaving.
