The Chiefs know sixth-round OL Laurent Duvernay-Tardif will be a project and may not contribute much as a rookie.
"It's a big swing and we're hoping for a home run," scout Pat Sperduto said. "You've got the [coaches who] can develop him. They'll close the gap as fast as they can and we'll see how quick he hits the field." LDT, 23, was working mostly as a backup guard during the spring after spending his college career in Canada at McGill University. At 6'5/298, he ran a 4.94 forty, repped 225 pounds 33 times on the bench press, and posted a 33.5-inch vertical.

Sixth-round OL Laurent Duvernay-Tardif reported to the Chiefs at 307 pounds.
He's up nine pounds from his Pro Day weight. The Canadian Football product is an outstanding athlete, and has been working at both guard and tackle in early-offseason practices. Duvernay-Tardif could push to start by 2015.
