Bills Director of College Scouting Kelvin Fisher suggested fourth-round CB Ross Cockrell could be an option at safety.

The Bills failed to replace Jairus Byrd in the draft or free agency outside of signing Corey Graham, but Cockrell projects as more of a dual-position, reserve option at safety than a candidate for the starting job. Buffalo could move Aaron Williams to free safety, with Jonathan Meeks, Duke Williams, Da'Norris Searcy, and UDFA Kenny Ladler competing for snaps on the strong-side. Cockrell should open 2014 as the Bills' No. 5 corner.
