Fri Oct 9 201515:46Kennard (hamstring) ruled out for Sunday's game against 49ers
Kennard (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the 49ers.
Kennard is off to an impressive start, with 25 tackles (15 solo) and an interception in four games. The Giants still don't have an every-down linebacker, but Kennard leads the group in snaps. In his absence, Mark Herzlich could get the start, though a bunch of players may benefit from added snaps.

Kennard missed practice for the second straight day with a hamstring injury Thursday, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Kennard, one of the team's best pass-coverage linebackers, had an interception last week and has been a decent source of tackles so far this season. If Kennard can't play, Mark Herzlich would likely start at strong side linebacker, with Jasper Brinkley also getting reps.
Fri Dec 26 201414:45Kennard (toe) out for Sunday's game against Philadelphia
Kennard (toe) is out for Sunday's game against Philadelphia.
Kennard has been a surprisingly prominent defender for a beat up Giants linebacking group, especially as a pass rusher, so his absence might be felt somewhat.

Kennard (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against the Falcons.
Kennard was questionable coming into Sunday's game, though he said his hamstring didn't give him any problems in practice this week. With a number of issues with the Giants' linebacking corps, Kennard could see a decent amount of snaps soon.

Kennard (hamstring) returned to practice Wednesday for the first time on a limited basis, but did enter the team portion of drills to work full speed, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Kennard (hamstring) is out for Sunday's game against Arizona.
Kennard left Monday's game against Detroit with the injury and was unable to practice all week. As a depth player, Kennard's absence shouldn't make a big impact.

The severity of the injury is unknown at this time, but look for a more revealing update later Monday night or early Tuesday. Kennard did not record a tackle before exiting.

Kennard has been a pleasant surprise thus far in camp and could even earn a significant role, the Newark Star-Ledger reports.
It's still early, and Jacquian Williams, Jameel McClain and Jon Beason (when he returns) are also in the mix. But Kennard could contribute out of the gate this year.
Thu Jul 24 201414:46Devon Kennard running with first team in camp
Fifth-round rookie Devon Kennard has opened Giants camp as the starting strong-side linebacker.
Undrafted rookie Dan Fox is running with the second team. It speaks to the Giants' depth issues at linebacker. Spencer Paysinger could eventually get into the mix with Kennard, while it's where Jameel McClain will likely shift once MLB Jon Beason (foot) returns to full health.

Sat Jun 21 201415:29Giants rookie LB Kennard in the mix to start
Giants rookie Devon Kennard could be in the mix to start at strong-side linebacker.
The Giants are using Jameel McClain to help replace MLB Jon Beason (foot), leaving Kennard and Spencer Paysinger to compete at the SAM spot. Jacquian Williams is locked on the weak side. Kennard impressed during OTAs and could see meaningful snaps if Beason misses early-season games. McClain will move back to the strong side once Beason returns.

Thu Jun 12 201421:00Rookie Kennard filled in after Beason's exit
Giants rookie LB Devon Kennard filled in as the first-team middle linebacker after Jon Beason left practice with a foot injury.
An outside 'backer in college, Kennard has been working exclusively as the second-team middle linebacker throughout OTas. Though Kennard filled in during practice, the Giants would certainly look to bring in veteran help if Beason is forced to miss any significant time.
