Tue Jul 29 201413:27Redskins could give up on rookie OT Moses
The Washington Post leaves the door open for the Redskins to possibly cut third-round OT Morgan Moses.
Beat writer Mike Jones does write that it would be "hard to see them giving up on a third-round pick this quickly." But Moses is having trouble adjusting to the speed and strength of NFL pass rushers. Tom Compton has outplayed Moses as the No. 3 tackle behind starters LT Trent Williams and RT Tyler Polumbus. Moses' name was brought up as a potential first- or second-rounder before going 66th overall to Washington. He'll be a reserve in year one.

ESPN Redskins reporter John Keim said rookie OT Morgan Moses has struggled early in training camp.
Keim cautioned "it will take Moses time" to develop into a starting caliber tackle. Many thought Moses would push incumbent RT Tyler Polumbus for the starting job this year, but it has become clear he has a lot of developing to do. He will likely spend his rookie season as a reserve, but Moses could push for snaps in 2015.

Fri May 30 201413:54Morgan Moses not ready to start for Skins
Redskins coach Jay Gruden conceded third-round OT Morgan Moses is a ways away from pushing incumbent RT Tyler Polumbus for a starting job.
"He's got a ways to go," Gruden admitted. "He's moving over to right tackle and we're introducing him to the outside zone the way we want it, the protections the way we want it and it's going to take some time." Polumbus was better than given credit for last season, and Moses enters the pros as a total project in terms of run blocking. He's more likely to push for snaps in 2015.
