Lawrence recorded five tackles and his first regular season sack in Sunday's OT loss to the Saints.
He also had two sacks in the 2014 postseason, but this was his first one that would matter for IDP leagues. Lawrence will be joined in Week 5 by the returning Greg Hardy and with the veteran pass rusher commanding more attention from the offense, Lawrence could find it easier to get to the quarterback going forward.
Sun Aug 2 201509:41Lawrence one of stars of Saturday's practice
Lawrence was one of the stars of Saturday's practice, blowing by starting right tackle Doug Free in one-on-one drills, Rob Phillips of DallasCowboys.com reports.
With Greg Hardy suspended the first four games of the season the Cowboys will be counting on Lawrence to anchor their pass rush, and in the early part of training camp it looks like the second-year player will be up to the task. Double-digit sacks seems like a distinct possibility for Lawrence this season, especially once Hardy is back and drawing the focus of opposition blockers.
Sat Nov 1 201412:34Lawrence (foot) activated from IR by Cowboys on Saturday
Lawrence (foot) was activated from IR by the Cowboys on Saturday, Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News reports.
The second round pick will play Saturday, after the Cowboys released Lavar Edwards. While Dallas has been a pleasant surprise on defense, the pass rush has still been underwhelming, so Lawrence could give them a boost in that respect.
Tue Oct 21 201411:20Lawrence (foot) looked very good in practice last week
Lawrence (foot) looked very good in practice last week, and should be able to join the lineup immediately after he's eligible to come off IR following this week's game against Washington, the Dallas Morning News reports. "He has really improved his body during this time off," Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones said Monday. "He's used it to really have a lot of strength work. It's something that he didn't do as much [in college] as he's doing now. He's had quite a physical improvement."
The Cowboys defense has a mere six sacks so far on the season, so the rookie can't help but improve the pass rush once he makes his debut. If he hits the ground running in Week 9, Lawrence could be worth consideration in IDP leagues.
Tue Oct 14 201411:30Lawrence (foot) eligible to return to practice this week
Lawrence (foot) is eligible to return to practice this week, David Helman of DallasCowboys.com reports.
There's no indication yet of what his activity level might be like, but Lawrence will have two weeks of practice to get into game shape before he's eligible to come off IR.
Wed Sep 17 201411:44Lawrence (foot) no longer wearing protective boot
Lawrence (foot) is no longer wearing a protective boot, but has not yet started running, the Dallas Morning News reports.
He won't be eligible to come off IR until after Week 8, so the Cowboys aren't going to rush his recovery from a broken foot.
Sat Aug 30 201417:40DeMarcus Lawrence: (Foot) Placed On IR/Designated To Return
Lawrence (broken foot) will be placed on IR/designated to return, Brandon George of the Dallas Morning News reports.
Lawrence broke his foot at the end of July, and he was given a recovery timetable of 8-to-12 weeks. He can now officially be ruled out through the first eight games of the season, but the Cowboys' decision to use non-season-ending IR indicates that the team still hopes for a contribution from the rookie. While it's hard to imagine Lawrence emerging as anything close to an every-down player this season, there's always some chance that other injuries could eventually force him into such a role.
Thu Jul 31 201410:55Lawrence will undergo surgery on broken foot Thursday
Lawrence will undergo surgery on his broken foot Thursday, Nick Eatman of DallasCowboys.com reports.
The timetable for his recovery is still 8-12 weeks, but it's hard to see the rookie having much of an impact in the second half of the season given all the development time Lawrence will miss. The Cowboys' second-round pick will likely have to wait until next year to become a factor in the Dallas pass rush.
Wed Jul 30 201401:04Cowboys DE Demarcus Lawrence breaks foot
Cowboys DE Demarcus Lawrence has been diagnosed with a broken foot, and will be sidelined 8-10 weeks.
The injury requires surgery. It's a crippling blow for a defensive line that was already the worst in the league, and a terrible bit of luck for the No. 34 overall pick of May's draft. Lawrence suffered the injury getting "slammed to the turf" by LT Tyron Smith in individual drills. Lawrence was all but assured of starting right end duties. The job will now fall to retread Jeremy Mincey, who has only five sacks over his past 26 games. The Cowboys don't have a pass rush.

Tue Jul 29 201421:01Lawrence injures ankle, headed for x-rays
Cowboys DE Demarcus Lawrence is getting x-rays on his right foot and ankle after being forced from practice Tuesday.
Lawrence went down awkwardly on his right ankle while working against Tyron Smith in a one-on-one drill. He struggled to put weight on the leg after the injury, and eventually had to be helped off the field. The extent of the injury is not yet known, but the loss of Lawrence could be a devastating one for a Dallas defense already desperate for pass rushers.

Tue Jul 22 201409:06Rookie Lawrence expected to be Cowboys RE
The Cowboys' official website expects second-round rookie Demarcus Lawrence to open the season as the starting right end.
Dallas traded up to No. 34 to grab Lawrence in May's draft in an effort to replace DeMarcus Ware. Lawrence will compete with veteran Jeremy Mincey, but should have no problem outperforming him. He has a chance to contribute right away under DC Rod Marinelli. George Selvie is penciled in at left end.
