Chiefs re-signed OLB Frank Zombo.
The former Packer had a solid first season in Kansas City, appearing in all 16 games and making five starts. Although primarily a special teamer, Zombo notched two sacks, a pick and a forced fumble as a defensive fill-in. He'll serve in the same role in 2014.

Chiefs signed OLB Frank Zombo, formerly of the Packers.
He's reuniting with ex-Packers personnel man John Dorsey, who's now the GM in Kansas City. Zombo, 26, racked up four sacks in 2010 but his production has dipped steadily since and he managed eight sack-less tackles last season as a reserve in Green Bay. He'll compete to back up Justin Houston and Tamba Hali.

Zombo will slide into the rotation at outside 'backer behind Erik Walden and Clay Matthews. He'll see some snaps with first-round pick Nick Perry out this week with a knee injury. Zombo has battled injuries throughout his entire career.

Zombo is out with a hamstring strain. Neal is missing this game with a knee injury, but has made substantial progress and could return for Week 11. Marshall Newhouse gets another start at left tackle with Clifton (hamstring) out.

The Packers have ruled out OLB Frank Zombo (hamstring) and DE Mike Neal (knee) for Week 10.
Playing in just his second game of the season last Sunday, Zombo pulled up lame. As he's been doing nearly all year, Erik Walden will fill-in at right outside linebacker. Neal has resumed practicing, but remains week-to-week.

Zombo was appearing in just his second game of the season thanks to knee issues. His status is uncertain, but he's a poor bet to suit up against the Vikings. Erik Walden should continue to see the bulk of the snaps at right outside linebacker in Zombo's absence.

The Packers have ruled out OLB Frank Zombo (knee) for Week 7.
The initial diagnosis was a knee hyperextension, usually a 2-4 week injury. Erik Walden will continue to start at right outside linebacker after rotating with Zombo against the Rams. Walden has just one sack through six games.

Zombo missed the Packers' first five games with a shoulder injury. He split reps with Erik Walden at right outside linebacker, notching four tackles. Zombo should be able to regain his starting job within a few weeks.

Zombo had an X-ray of his fractured shoulder blade on Thursday. "I feel 100 percent, I feel great," said Zombo, "and so basically once they take a look at that, they'll determine when I can get back." Erik Walden is Pro Football Focus' 27th-ranked outside linebacker through three weeks, so Zombo could regain his starting job in a few weeks.

Packers OLB Frank Zombo will miss a "significant" amount of time after fracturing his scapula in warmups prior to the team's second preseason game.
The scapula is another term for the shoulder blade. Zombo might be a candidate for injured reserve, depending on the Packers medical staff's timetable. Zombo and Erik Walden have been rotating with the first-team defense at right outside linebacker, so that job now figures to go to Walden. There have been rumors that Brad Jones, a starter in 2009, is on the roster bubble.

Writer Dan Arkush says "nobody has a clue at the moment" as to whom among Frank Zombo, Erik Walden or Brad Jones will win the job. He also believes Green Bay very well may end up spending its No. 32 pick on an OLB. If so, Georgia's Justin Houston is a distinct possibility

Packers OLB Frank Zombo has declared himself 100 percent recovered from a late-season knee injury.
He's been out since early December. With starter Erik Walden battling a high ankle sprain, Zombo could end up playing a pivotal role on Sunday. The undrafted rookie entered the season as the starter opposite Clay Matthews.

Starting OLB Erik Walden (ankle) was still out, although if Walden can't play in the Super Bowl or is limited, Zombo is a viable alternative. The Packers' starting right outside linebacker to open the year, Zombo reeled off four sacks and two forced fumbles before missing the last month of the season.

Packers OLB Frank Zombo is again expected to be inactive this Sunday when the Packers take on the Bears in the NFC Championship game.
The owner of four sacks and two forced fumbles during the regular season, Zombo last played in Week 14. If he's out for the sixth straight game this weekend, Erik Walden will again take his place at outside linebacker. Walden has played well this postseason, registering seven tackles, one sack and a forced fumble.

According to FOXSports' John Czarnecki, Packers OLB Frank Zombo (doubtful, knee) has been downgraded to out.
Zombo was limited in practice all week and will most likely need to wait until Week 17 to return. Erik Walden will hold down the position until Zombo can return.
