Wed Jul 15 201514:27Miles signing with Giants on Wednesday
Miles is signing with the Giants on Wednesday, the Baltimore Sun reports.
An undrafted free agent in 2010, Miles has just 72 tackles in 67 career games (three), as he's mostly made his living on special teams. He did take on a larger defensive role with the Ravens last season, and he was surprisingly one of the stronger performers in a weak secondary. With the Giants having the least experienced group of safeties in the league, it's not out of the question that Miles could push for a starting role, even though he drew minimal interest as a free agent.

Miles did not play a defensive snap in Sunday's 29-7 win over the Falcons.
The Ravens used a four-safety rotation comprised of Darian Stewart, Terrence Brooks, Matt Elam and Will Hill. Miles, who worked as the nickelback earlier this season, did not have any kind of a role. The Ravens used cornerback Dominique Franks in the nickel defense, as opposed to going with a third safety. Miles mostly went unnoticed when he was getting snaps, which isn't necessarily a bad thing for a safety. He still figures to see see most of his playing time on special teams in the coming weeks.

Working as the nickelback, Miles played 50-of-60 defensive snaps in Thursday's 26-6 win over the Steelers.
With top CB Lardarius Webb (back) out for a second straight wees, the Ravens opted for a third safety over a third corner in the nickel. Miles didn't record any defensive snaps in Week 1, and while he held up well against the Steelers, he's unlikely to go anywhere near 50 snaps in the coming weeks. Miles does seem to be the top backup at free safety, which means he could perhaps come into some IDP value if Darian Stewart is benched or suffers an injury. Though not especially impressive through two weeks, Stewart has played decently enough that he should keep his job.
