Sat Sep 26 201509:44Whitworth signed one-year
Whitworth signed a one-year, $9 million contract extension with the Bengals on Saturday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
Whitworth has been an excellent left tackle with the Bengals for ages, so it's a nice reward for the 33-year-old as he delves deeper into the veteran portion of his career. A big winner in this is Andy Dalton, who hasn't been sacked by a Whitworth-guarded pass rusher since 2013.

Bengals OL Andrew Whitworth will return to left tackle in 2014.
This was always the expectation after the Bengals lost Anthony Collins to the Bucs. Whitworth was a beast after shifting to left guard last Week 13, but hardly struggled on the blindside before the move. Now 32, Whitworth is signed through 2015.

Mon Feb 10 201418:44Whitworth would like to play LT
Bengals LT Andre Whitworth would 'prefer to play left tackle."
Whitworth may be a victim of his own success as he was an above average run blocker after switching to left guard half way through 2013. New Bengals OC Hue Jackson believes in the power-run game, and Whitworth's physicality would be a great asset on the interior line.

Sun Feb 9 201414:35Bengals may move Whitworth to left guard
The Bengals may explore moving LT Andrew Whitworth to left guard permanently under new OC Hue Jackson.
Jackson is a power-blocking proponent, and Whitworth's "violent" playing style makes him a strong fit at left guard, where he flourished in six starts to close out last season. Whitworth kicking inside hinges on the Bengals' ability to re-sign free agent LT Anthony Collins, who shouldn't be cheap to retain.

Thu Dec 19 201315:59Bengals LT Whitworth concussed in practice
Bengals LT Andrew Whitworth suffered a concussion in Wednesday's practice, and is uncertain for Week 16.
It gives Whitworth precious little time to get cleared for Sunday's game against the Vikings. He'll almost certainly be out, leaving Anthony Collins to man Andy Dalton's blindside. Collins started in Week 1 as Whitworth recovered from a knee injury. It's a concern, but not enough to downgrade Dalton from the ranks of the QB1s in a dream matchup.

The Cincinnati Enquirer considers Bengals LT Andrew Whitworth (knee) "extremely cloudy" for Week 1.
Whitworth missed the entire preseason with a knee injury, and was limited to individual work in Monday's practice. It's a big concern for the left side of a line that will be contending with Bears DE Julius Peppers on Sunday. The Bengals would be forced to go with career swing tackle Anthony Collins in Whitworth's absence. It's worth noting that Whitworth hasn't missed a game since 2008.
