Biermann (non-injury related) is active for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Biermann was absent from Wednesday's practice, but logged full sessions Thursday and Friday. He provided a lift for the Falcons while seeing 27 snaps off the bench in Week 2, providing four tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble.

The Falcons have re-signed Biermann, ESPN.com reports.

Biermann had the best statistical season of his career in 2014, recording 77 tackles, 4.5 sacks, a forced fumble and three pass defensed.
Biermann had a great bounce back year one season after being limited to two games with a torn Achilles. He picked a great year to have a healthy and productive season, as he'll be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. The Falcons are expected to have a fair amount of cap room this offseason, so they'll likely pursue Biermann if they can get him for the right price.

Biermann racked up five total tackles and 1.5 sacks against the Buccaneers on Sunday.
Sunday's game was Biermann's best performance of the season, as he registered his first sack on the year. He'll look to build on that performance in Week 11 against Cam Newton and the Panthers.

Biermann (Achilles) tallied one tackle against the Titans on Saturday.
Biermann appeared hesitant to go all out at times, and it doesn't look like he's completely comfortable with his surgically repaired Achilles tendon. He'll likely get some work in Thursday's preseason finale, and he's still expected to start at defensive end, but he could lose playing time if the injury doesn't let him go all out for the full 60 minutes.
Fri Jul 25 201408:49Falcons DE/OLB Biermann to be limited
Falcons DE/OLB Kroy Biermann (Achilles') will be limited at the beginning of training camp.
Biermann tore his Achilles' in Week 2. He'll have every third practice day off and won't play in at least the first preseason game. Coach Mike Smith fully expects Biermann to be 100 percent for the opener. The Falcons need Biermann to return to form, as he's one of their most experienced edge players.

Wed Mar 26 201411:27Kroy Biermann has started on-field work
Falcons DE/LB Kroy Biermann (Achilles) has begun on-field work.
Biermann blew out his Achilles during Week 2 of last season. He's ahead of schedule and figures to be near full strength by the time training camp rolls around. Biermann is a valuable and versatile piece in Mike Nolan's hybrid scheme.

Mon Sep 16 201314:42Falcons place DE Biermann, FB Ewing on I.R.
Falcons placed DE/LB Kroy Biermann (Achilles) and FB Bradie Ewing (shoulder) on injured reserve, ending their seasons.
The loss of Biermann is huge; he was a movable chess piece in Mike Nolan's defense, playing every snap and operating as both an up-front and second-level player. Look for the Falcons to lean on Jonathan Babineaux more at defensive end going forward. Ewing's loss is less significant; he only played 14 snaps through the first two games. Still, the Biermann injury is big and could cause a ripple effect on an Atlanta defense that already had average talent.

Sat Jul 27 201321:08Biermann getting extended look at linebacker
Falcons DE Kory Biermann saw extensive playing time at linebacker during Saturday's camp practice.
Biermann is expected to be used as a "movable piece" in Mike Nolan's 4-3 defense and is likely ticketed for a situation role. The Falcons upgraded at end by adding fourth-round pick Malliciah Goodman and fifth-rounder Stansly Maponga to the defensive line rotation this offseason.

Sat Jun 1 201311:07DE Biermann to convert positions?
Falcons DE Kroy Biermann could see the majority of his snaps at 3-4 OLB in the team's multiple defense.
The Falcons plan on running a hybrid defense under Mike Nolan, which will feature more 3-4 looks than last season. The team drafted two traditional defensive ends and added Osi Umenyiora through free agency, increasing the odds Biermann will focus on more of situational role. Nolan added Biermann is a player he believes can help cover athletic tight ends, implying he may also see time at SAM linebacker in 4-3 alignments.

Mon Jan 21 201315:41Coach Mike Smith doesn't rule out 3-4 DEF
Speaking at Monday's season-ending presser, Falcons coach Mike Smith didn't rule out switching from a 4-3 defense to 3-4 scheme in 2013.
"I'm not ruling out anything," Smith said. DC Mike Nolan was a 3-4 man until arriving in Atlanta, and a switch has been rumored for over a year. The Falcons' 4-3 attack generated just 29 sacks in 2012, which was 28th in the league. DE Kroy Biermann would be a candidate to shift to linebacker in a 3-4 scheme, while OLB Sean Weatherspoon would potentially kick inside.

Fri Nov 2 201209:45Biermann playing four different spots
In addition to special teams, Falcons DE Kroy Biermann has played four different spots in Mike Nolan's defense this season.
"The man is a beast," says veteran pass rusher John Abraham. Biermann has been used as a "spy" on Cam Newton, Robert Griffin III and Michael Vick, and has even dropped into coverage as a safety. In his 4-3/3-3-5 hybrid scheme, Nolan has used Biermann as a "movable chess piece," to borrow a favorite term of NFL Films guru Greg Cosell.

Thu Mar 1 201210:34Falcons expected to announce Biermann deal
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the Falcons are expected to re-sign free agent DE Kroy Biermann within the next 36 hours.
Per beat writer D. Orlando Ledbetter, the re-signing is "imminent." Biermann should come relatively cheap after a disappointing 2011 season. Per Ledbetter, the estimated cost will be $10 million to $12 million over 3-4 seasons.

Sun Jul 31 201119:45Falcons to use 'revolving door' at end
The Falcons are expected to use a "revolving door" approach at defensive end this season.
Incumbent LE Kroy Biermann was oh-so-close to countless sacks last season, but finished off only three of them. He's now No. 3 on the depth chart, sharing snaps with RE John Abraham and new starting LE Ray Edwards. The wave-type rotation should keep all three pass rushers fresh. Biermann has plenty to play for in the last year of his deal. Abraham's in a contract season too.

Mon May 30 201121:05Falcons DE Biermann about to break out?
Scouts Inc.'s Matt Williamson believes Falcons LE Kroy Biermann may be "on the cusp of breaking out."
Williamson praises Biermann's "better-than-advertised speed" and "motor that never stops." He also suggests that Biermann is a better pass rusher than given credit, which echoes data from Pro Football Focus. Though the Falcons are expected to target defensive ends in free agency, that may be more due to John Abraham's age and expiring contract than Biermann's effectiveness.

Tue Apr 12 201119:43Biermann's sack total doesn't tell full story
Although Falcons DE Kroy Biermann recorded just three sacks in 2010, his 48 quarterback disruptions were just nine fewer than Pro Bowl teammate John Abraham's total.
Biermann put pressure on the quarterback on 11.71 percent of pass-rushing opportunities, which put him in the same neighborhood as Terrell Suggs and Julius Peppers. He also played the run well, finishing 13th in Pro Football Focus' defensive end ratings. Biermann is a candidate to break out with double-figure sacks in 2011.

Tue Sep 7 201019:01Biermann enters starting lineup
The Falcons first regular-season depth chart confirms that Kroy Biermann has beaten out Jamaal Anderson for the starting left end job.
From a production standpoint, it was no contest. Biermann was one of the most active reserves in the league last season while Anderson has failed to make plays since being drafted in the first round four years ago. The switch will improve Atlanta's pass rushing up front.

Fri Aug 20 201008:25Biermann pushing for starting gig
Falcons coach Mike Smith confirmed that DE Kroy Biermann is pushing for a starting job.
Jamaal Anderson is the current starter opposite John Abraham. Biermann has had a sack in each of the first two preseason games and caused a fumble from Tom Brady last night. "Production is what's it's all about," Smith said. Biermann had five sacks last season as a situational pass rusher.
