Mon Jun 2414:53Jorge Polanco Reinstated From The 10-Day Injured List
The Seattle Mariners reinstated second baseman Jorge Polanco (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list ahead of the team's series opener against the Tampa Bay Rays. Polanco has been out since May 26 due to a right hamstring strain, but he should resume his everyday role as the Mariners' second baseman upon his return. It has been a rough start to the year for the 30-year-old at the plate, as he is hitting just .195 with five home runs, two doubles, and 14 RBI in 46 games this season. Given his poor numbers in 2024, Polanco should likely be left on waivers in most fantasy leagues right now.

Sat Jun 2212:26Jorge Polanco Goes Deep Twice In Rehab Game
Seattle Mariners second baseman Jorge Polanco (hamstring) went 2-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI, two run scored, a walk and a strikeout in his latest minor-league rehab game with Triple-A Tacoma on Friday night. Polanco was also able to play a full game on defense, so it would be a surprise if he's not reinstated from the injured list to join the team in Miami against the Marlins. The 30-year-old switch-hitter finally got his bat going during his rehab assignment, and fantasy managers in deeper leagues will be hoping he can carry that over to the big leagues. When he returns to the M's, he'll be carrying a weak .195/.293/.302 slash line with five homers and 14 RBI in his 159 at-bats. Despite his poor performance in Seattle so far, Polanco is going to see regular playing time at second base.

Thu Jun 2013:52Jorge Polanco Plays In Full Rehab Game
Seattle Mariners second baseman Jorge Polanco (hamstring) played a full minor-league rehab game on Wednesday with Triple-A Tacoma as the designated hitter and went 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored. Now that Polanco has played in back-to-back games two separate times on his rehab assignment means that his return to Seattle is probably imminent. The 30-year-old switch-hitter played seven innings at second base on Tuesday and should be back from the 10-day injured by the weekend. Polanco should return to regular starting duties at the keystone for the M's when he's reinstated, although his .195/.293/.302 slash line with five home runs and 14 RBI in 159 at-bats in his first year in Seattle has left a lot to be desired by fantasy managers. Rookie Ryan Bliss has seen some run at second with Polanco injured.

Mon May 2718:49Jorge Polanco Headed To Injured List
Seattle Mariners second baseman Jorge Polanco (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list with a right hamstring strain on Monday evening. Polanco, who injured the same hamstring earlier in the season, exited Sunday's game with the ailment. Infielder Ryan Bliss was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma as a corresponding move. Bliss figures to factor into the playing time battle at second base alongside Dylan Moore. Polance was slashing a dismal .195/.293/.302 across 159 at-bats this season and is officially droppable if any fantasy managers were still holding onto him.

Sun May 2615:59Jorge Polanco Exits Early On Sunday
Seattle Mariners second baseman Jorge Polanco left Sunday's game against the Washington Nationals with right hamstring tightness. He was replaced by Josh Rojas who entered the game at third base while Dylan Moore shifted to second. It is a worrying injury for the 30-year-old as he had just missed time with an injury on the same hamstring. He has also dealt with similar ailments over the course of his career. Polanco has struggled at the plate this season with an underwhelming .195/.293/.302 slash line. He has also produced five home runs, 14 RBI, 15 runs scored and a stolen base through 46 games. Polanco is tough to justify rostering in the majority of formats with his injury frequency and limited production.

Wed May 2217:20Jorge Polanco Back In Mariners Lineup
Seattle Mariners second baseman Jorge Polanco (hamstring) is returning to second base and will bat seventh for the M's on Wednesday against the New York Yankees and left-hander Nestor Cortes in the Bronx. Polanco returns to action for Seattle after missing over a week with a right-hamstring injury. The 30-year-old veteran switch-hitter has struggled to get things going at the plate in his first year with the team in 2024, as he's hitting .192/.298/.308 with five home runs, 13 RBI, one stolen base and 15 runs scored in 146 at-bats. Polanco has been better in May, though, going 11-for-46 (.239) with a homer and three RBI in 11 games. His fantasy managers will be hoping he can pick up where he's left off this month after missing the last week. Polanco has two hits and an RBI in 10 career at-bats off of Cortes.

Tue May 2118:50Jorge Polanco Remains Out On Tuesday
Seattle Mariners infielder Jorge Polanco (hamstring) remains out of the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the New York Yankees. The good news is that Polanco was available off the bench during Monday's contest. It's a bit odd that he still remains out of the lineup despite being available to bat. The 30-year-old has missed seven straight games. It doesn't sound like he'll need to be placed on the injured list but we'll see what happens over the next few days. Dylan Moore will cover second base and bat ninth versus right-hander Clarke Schmidt on Tuesday.

Mon May 2017:27Jorge Polanco Available Off The Bench Monday
Seattle Mariners manager Scott Servais said that second baseman Jorge Polanco (hamstring) will be available off the bench, if needed, against the New York Yankees in the Bronx. Josh Rojas is making another start at second base and will bat leadoff for the M's versus Yankees right-hander Marcus Stroman. Polanco is missing a fourth straight game due to a right-hamstring issue, but it appears he's getting close to a return and should avoid a trip to the injured list. The 30-year-old Dominican veteran has had a rough start to his first year in Seattle, as he's currently slashing .192/.298/.308 with five homers, 13 RBI and 15 runs scored in 146 at-bats. Rojas has exceeded expectations offensively for the M's but has come back down to Earth a bit in his last five games with just one hit and seven strikeouts in his 21 plate appearances.

Sun May 1912:57Jorge Polanco Not In Sunday's Lineup
Seattle Mariners second baseman Jorge Polanco (hamstring) remains out of the starting lineup on Sunday against the Orioles in Baltimore. It will be the fifth straight game that Polanco has missed with a hamstring injury that could very well land him on the injured list. Outfielder Jonatan Clase, the team's No. 10 prospect per MLB Pipeline, is on the team's taxi squad right now and could join the active roster if Polanco lands on the injured list. On top of his injury, the 30-year-old Polanco has been a huge disappointment in his first year in Seattle, hitting just .192 (28-for-146) with five home runs, 13 RBI and 15 runs scored in 41 games played. Josh Rojas is getting another start at second base and is hitting leadoff against Orioles right-hander Corbin Burnes. Rojas is hitting .111 in nine career at-bats against Burnes. The 29-year-old is bound to cool off at the plate, but there's no ignoring the fact he's currently hitting .311 (37-for-119) with three homers, nine RBI and four steals.

Fri May 1717:10Jorge Polanco Still Out Friday
Seattle Mariners second baseman Jorge Polanco (hamstring) remains out of the starting lineup on Friday versus the Baltimore Orioles. It will be Polanco's third straight missed game due to right-hamstring soreness. The 30-year-old is considered day-to-day and will next have a chance to return to the lineup on Saturday. In his absence, Josh Rojas will make another start at second base and will bat sixth, while Luis Urias starts at the hot corner and bats ninth against Orioles left-hander John Means. Polanco has yet to get going at all really in 2024 with a slash line of just .192/.298/.308 with five home runs and 13 RBI in 146 at-bats. Rojas is exceeding everyone's expectations offensively this year and has gone 16-for-46 (.348) in 12 games in May. However, he's had only 11 plate appearances against lefties in 2024.

Wed May 1516:03Mitch Garver, Jorge Polanco Not Playing Wednesday
Seattle Mariners catcher/designated hitter Mitch Garver (back) and second baseman Jorge Polanco (hamstring) are both out of the lineup on Wednesday against the visiting Kansas City Royals. Garver was scratched from Tuesday's lineup due to back spasms and will miss his second straight game. Polanco will also sit out for the second day in a row due to a tight right hamstring. Mitch Haniger is the DH and is hitting third on Wednesday, with Josh Rojas at second base and batting leadoff against Royals right-hander Alec Marsh. Luke Raley is in right field and is batting fifth. Fantasy managers should consider both Garver and Polanco day-to-day and check back to see if they are back in the lineup on Friday for the series opener against the Orioles in Baltimore. Rojas doesn't have much power but has been swinging a hot bat this year with a .333 average (36-for-108) with three homers, eight RBI and four stolen bases.

Tue May 1418:21Jorge Polanco Absent On Tuesday
Seattle Mariners second baseman Jorge Polanco (hamstring) is absent from the starting lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against the Kansas City Royals. The Mariners will hold out Polanco after he made an early exit from Monday's game due to a hamstring issue. For now, fantasy managers should consider Polanco as day-to-day. In his absence, Josh Rojas will bat leadoff and cover second base for Tuesday's game. Rojas has been hitting well in the leadoff spot, so he could be an interesting streaming option here.

Tue May 1400:09Jorge Polanco Exits Early Monday With Hamstring Tightness
Seattle Mariners second baseman Jorge Polanco (hamstring) exited Monday's game against the Royals in the fifth inning with right hamstring tightness, per the team's Twitter account. Polanco went 1-for-2 with a single, a walk, and a strikeout before being replaced in the field by Luis Urias. Fantasy managers should look for further updates on Polanco's status once the game has ended. The 30-year-old has struggled with injuries throughout his career, so hopefully this one will not be serious.

Fri May 1020:05Jorge Polanco Getting A Breather Friday
Seattle Mariners second baseman Jorge Polanco is getting a breather on Friday in the series opener against the visiting Oakland Athletics. Josh Rojas will get the start at the keystone for the M's as a result and will hit leadoff against A's right-hander Paul Blackburn. Luis Urias is at third base and is batting ninth for the M's. Polanco is in need of a little break after recording only two hits in 18 at-bats with seven strikeouts in the recent four-game series this week against his former team, the Minnesota Twins. The 30-year-old Dominican switch-hitter's poor recent stretch has dropped his season slash line to a weak .182/.291/.299 with five home runs, 13 RBI and 14 runs scored in 137 at-bats. Rojas continues to get more playing time around the diamond for Seattle after his .348/.417/.533 start at the plate in 2024.

Tue Mar 1211:11Jorge Polanco Having A Productive Spring For New Team
Seattle Mariners second baseman Jorge Polanco is showing his new team what he can do at the plate this spring. After bashing two home runs on Sunday, the 30-year-old failed to reach base for the first time Monday, going 0-for-3 with a strikeout in a 13-3 Cactus League loss to the Padres. Through his first eight Cactus League games, however, Polanco had reached base at least once via hit or walk in each game. After nine games now, the veteran is 7-for-17 (.412) with a double, two home runs, four runs, and eight RBI. He's collected four walks and has also been plunked once, with his OBP standing at .545 after 22 plate appearances. The 2019 All-Star has missed portions of the last two seasons due to injury so it's a welcome sight to see him healthy. He's currently projected to hit third in the Mariners order and is being drafted around pick 257 per his NFBC ADP, slightly behind his RotoBaller rank of 244.

Mon Jan 2920:06Mariners Acquire Jorge Polanco From Twins
The Seattle Mariners acquired second baseman Jorge Polanco from the Minnesota Twins on Monday, according to sources. It's unclear what the Twins are receiving in return. The Twins exercised Polanco's $10.5 million club option for the 2024 season, even after he played in just 80 regular-season games due to ankle, knee and hamstring injuries. The 30-year-old hit well when he was on the field, though, slashing .255/.335/.454 with a .789 OPS, 14 home runs, 18 doubles, 48 RBI, four stolen bases and 38 runs scored in 343 plate appearances. The move opens up regular playing time at the keystone in Minnesota for Edouard Julien. Polanco squared the ball up often and had strong exit velocities, but he's moving to another pitcher-friendly park in the American League. He should play regularly in Seattle but will be a significant health risk for fantasy managers.

Fri Dec 8 202316:37Twins Receiving Trade Interest On Jorge Polanco
The Minnesota Twins have received increased trade interest in infielder Jorge Polanco over the last week. The Twins exercised their $10.5 million option on Polanco for the 2024 season, but teams have come calling on the 30-year-old veteran this offseason. Durability issues have been Polanco's Achilles heal, as he missed a considerable chunk of time in 2023 due to ankle, knee and hamstring issues. But he was solid at the plate when he was on the field, slashing .255/.335/.454 with a .789 OPS, 14 home runs, 18 doubles, 48 RBI, four stolen bases and 38 runs scored in 343 trips to the plate over 80 total games. The switch-hitting Dominican might have a better fantasy outlook outside of Minnesota, but durability concerns aren't going to go away. If the Twins do trade Polanco, Edouard Julien would become the team's regular at the keystone in 2024.

Thu Nov 2 202319:20Max Kepler, Jorge Polanco Have Club Options Exercised By Twins
Minnesota Twins outfielder Max Kepler and second baseman Jorge Polanco both had their 2024 club options exercised by the club on Thursday. The decisions were widely expected after Kepler and Polanco both enjoyed quality campaigns at the plate in 2023. Kepler, who will earn $10 million next season, posted a career-high batting average of .260 while slugging 24 home runs alongside an .816 OPS across 130 games this season. He is scheduled to hit free agency following the 2024 season. Polanco, who will take home $10.5 million in 2024, dealt with a knee injury again this season but managed to hit .255 with 14 home runs, four stolen bases, and a .789 OPS across 343 plate appearances. The Twins hold an additional club option on the 30-year-old for the 2025 campaign. Both players will aim to contribute to a second consecutive AL Central crown in the 2024 campaign.

Sat Sep 30 202300:47Jorge Polanco Day-To-Day With Sore Ankle
Minnesota Twins infielder Jorge Polanco (ankle) departed Friday's game against the Colorado Rockies with right ankle soreness. He went 1-for-3 before Alex Kirilloff subbed in for him during the sixth inning. Polanco is being deemed day-to-day with his next chance to return arriving during Saturday's meeting at Coors Field. The Twins have dealt with enough injuries to key contributors this year, like Byron Buxton (knee) and Royce Lewis (hamstring), so it's fair to wonder if the AL Central champions elect to hold out Polanco until the playoffs. The former All-Star has been very productive when healthy, slashing .255/.335/.454 with 14 home runs, 48 RBI, and four stolen bases in 302 at-bats (80 games).

Thu Sep 28 202312:00Jorge Polanco Not Playing Thursday
Minnesota Twins second baseman Jorge Polanco is getting the day off on Thursday against the visiting Oakland Athletics. With Polanco starting on the bench, Donovan Solano will man the keystone and will hit third in the order against A's right-hander Luis Medina. Willi Castro is starting at third base and is hitting in the two-hole for the Twins. Due to injuries, Polanco has played in only 78 games for Minnesota this year, and he's hitting .258/.339/.461 with an .800 OPS, 14 home runs, 18 doubles, 48 RBI, four stolen bases and 38 runs scored in 336 trips to the plate. The 30-year-old Dominican switch-hitter has gone 18-for-71 (.254) with four home runs, four doubles, 12 RBI, a stolen base and 14 runs scored in his 18 starts in September.
