The speedster hit just .258/.303/.323 over 30 games for Kansas City this season. Bourgeois is pretty much a glorified pinch-runner, but the 30-year-old will get a minor league deal from someone.

Tue Mar 20 201216:49Royals acquire OF Bourgeois from Astros
Royals acquired OF Jason Bourgeois and C Humberto Quintero from the Astros for LHP Kevin Chapman and a player to be named later.
The Royals' starting outfield is pretty set with Alex Gordon, Lorenzo Cain and Jeff Francoeur, so Bourgeois figures to stick as a reserve outfielder. The 30-year-old batted .293/.393/.357 with one home run, 16 RBI, 31 stolen bases and a .680 OPS over 252 plate appearances with Houston last year. Wed Mar 7 201214:50Nats have talked to Astros about Bourgeois
Bill Ladson of MLB.com reports that the Nationals have talked to the Astros about outfielder Jason Bourgeois at least three times since December's Winter Meetings.
The Nationals would use Bourgeois as a stop gap option in center field, though a deal is not considered imminent. The 30-year-old batted .293/.393/.357 with one home run, 16 RBI, 31 stolen bases and a .680 OPS over 252 plate appearances with Houston last year. Assuming Bryce Harper begins the season in the minors, the Nats project to go with some combination of Roger Bernadina, Rick Ankiel and possibly Brett Carroll in center field.

Jason Bourgeois has been dealing with tendinitis in his left wrist lately.
Bourgeois took batting practice Saturday for the first time since the Astros' homestand began on Thursday. He came on as a pinch-runner Saturday and stayed in to take a few at-bats, so the wrist clearly isn't a major issue.

Fri Aug 12 201100:46Jason Bourgeois goes 3-for-5 in victory
Jason Bourgeois went 3-for-5 with a triple and two runs scored Thursday against the Diamondbacks.
Bourgeois was also responsible for one of the Astros' four caught stealings in the game, which proved costly in the 6-5 loss. It was just the fifth time since 1994 that a team was caught stealing four times in a game. Bourgeois is 22-for-28 stealing bases in just 63 games this season.

Sun Jul 31 201117:46No. 3 hitter Bourgeois has big day
Batting third in a "new look" Astros lineup on Sunday, Jason Bourgeois hit a three-run homer while stealing two bases in Houston's 5-4 loss to the Brewers.
"New look" in almost stunningly awful/amateur. The home run was Bourgeois' first of the season, but the swipes were his 21st and 22nd. His speed makes him worth an own in mixed leagues until he gets hurt again.

Jason Bourgeois will start in left field Monday against the Cardinals.
Meanwhile, Carlos Lee will make the start at first base while Brett Wallace will take a seat. Bourgeois remains a serious stolen base threat, but barring injury or a trade, he'll only get sporadic playing time.

Fri Jul 22 201110:56Bourgeois comes off the disabled list
Astros activated OF Jason Bourgeois (quad) from the 15-day disabled list.
Bourgeois last played on June 28. He has excelled when in the lineup this season, hitting .353/.371/.422 while converting 17-of-21 stolen-base attempts in just 45 games, but has struggled with leg injuries. That's not good news for someone who derives most of their value from speed. He's worth a flier in all formats, but be ready for him to go down again.

Tue Jul 5 201123:41Bourgeois unlikely to return after AS break
Astros manager Brad Mills indicated Tuesday that Jason Bourgeois (quadriceps) is unlikely to return from the disabled list when he's eligible following the All-Star break.
"This will be his second time coming back from an injury, and we really kind of need to run him through the course a little bit of playing some games to see if he's healthy," said Mills. "That would only make sense. He needs to find out for himself if he's OK." Bourgeois is hitting .353 with 17 stolen bases in 21 attempts this season, but he has been limited to just 45 games due to two stints on the disabled list.

Wed Jun 29 201108:46Astros place OF Bourgeois (quad) on DL
Astros placed OF Jason Bourgeois on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right quadriceps muscle.
The injury has nagged Bourgeois over the past few days and caused him to leave Tuesday's game after six innings. While Bourgeois is batting .353 over 102 at-bats and has 17 stolen bases in 21 attempts, he just hasn't been able to stay healthy. This is his second trip to the disabled list this season.

Tue Jun 28 201123:48Bourgeois 'pretty concerned' about quad
Jason Bourgeois said that he is "pretty concerned" about his quad injury.
Bourgeois left Tuesday's game after six innings with a strained right quad, the same injury that has bothered him for about a week now. "I was running at 85 to 90 percent waiting for it to start healing up," explained Bourgeois. "Today, it got me pretty good." The Astros' plans for Bourgeois aren't immediately clear, but it wouldn't be surprising if the speedster needs a trip to the disabled list.

Wed Jun 22 201112:17Jason Bourgeois has quad ailment
Jason Bourgeois played through a minor quad injury Tuesday.
"My quad's kind of tight a little bit. I don't know if it was cramping up, dehydration or what," said Bourgeois. "We'll see how it is (today)." With Hunter Pence (elbow) still unavailable, the Astros are short on outfielders. If Bourgeois can't play Wednesday, Carlos Lee will move back to the outfield from DH, with a backup infielder occupying the DH slot.
