He began a rehab assignment on Aug. 18 in Tampa and recently played for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.Holliday, 37, was first sidelined on June 28 with a viral infection. Since his return after the All-Star break, he hit just .136 (11-for-81) with one home run and two doubles.Holliday, who signed a one-year, $16-million deal in the offseason, batted .262 with 15 homers and 47 RBIs in the first half of the season, but he now stands at .229 with 16 homers and 51 RBIs in 88 games.The Yankees also announced a number of other moves prior to Friday night's home game against the Boston Red Sox as September arrives, allowing major league teams to keep up to 40 active players on their rosters.The team recalled right-handers Ben Heller and Bryan Mitchell and left-hander Jordan Montgomery from Triple-A.In addition, the Yankees signed catcher Erik Kratz to a major league contract and selected him to the 40-man roster.
