Weeks has cleared waivers and will be outrighted to Triple-A Pawtucket, the Providence Journal's Brian MacPherson reports.
The Red Sox were able to open up a spot on the 40-man roster while retaining Weeks. In 45 big league plate appearances last season he hit .297 with zero home runs and two steals, and while he will likely never live up to the hype he generated as a prospect a few years ago, Weeks is a good source of organizational infield depth.

Weeks was 2-for-3 with two doubles, a walk, and a pair of runs scored in Boston's win over the Royals on Friday night.
Just acquired from the Orioles at the end of August, the speedy second-sacker figured to be a part-time player down the stretch, but with Dustin Pedroia done for the season, and Brock Holt off with a concussion, he could see a fair amount of playing time and provide some cheap stolen bases to fantasy owners in deeper leagues.

Weeks was activated by the Red Sox and will be available off the bench Sunday against the Rays, MLB.com reports.
Acquired from the Orioles on Saturday in exchange for Kelly Johnson and Michael Almanzar, Weeks will join the big league roster immediately after spending most of the campaign at Triple-A Norfolk. The 27-year-old should give the Red Sox an infusion of speed off the bench, but his inability to play multiple positions will likely limit his at-bats, since Dustin Pedroia (concussion) and Brock Holt rank 1-2 on Boston's depth chart at second base.
Sat Aug 30 201422:46Weeks traded to Red Sox on Saturday
Weeks was traded to the Red Sox on Saturday, The Baltimore Sun reports.
Weeks was sent to the Red Sox along with infielder Ivan DeJesus Jr, while the Orioles acquired infielder Kelly Johnson and minor league pitcher Michael Almanzar. Weeks was recently dealing with a groin injury in the minors, and could be called up to the majors after Dustin Pedroia left Saturday's game against the Rays. Weeks had a slash line of .278/.391/.385 in 62 games in Triple-A this season.

Weeks (groin) was activated from the minor league DL Friday, MASN's Roch Kubatko reports.
He hit .563 with three doubles in five rehab games in the Gulf Coast League, and will now presumably return to Triple-A, with a solid shot at getting called up on Sept. 1.

Weeks (groin) went 1-for-3 in his first rehab game for Baltimore's rookie-level Gulf Coast League team Saturday.
Weeks has been out since July 23 with his groin injury. He should return to Triple-A after several more rehab games. There is a chance Weeks gets a call to the Orioles as rosters expand in September.

Jemile Weeks is meeting up with the Orioles in New York.
The Orioles are expected to officially add him to the 25-man roster before Wednesday's series-finale against the Yankees. No word on a corresponding roster move. Weeks probably won't get enough playing time to produce worthwhile value in standard fantasy leagues.

Jemile Weeks went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts on Sunday, leaving him with a .148 average this spring.

Fri Feb 28 201416:10Jemile Weeks doubles, scores twice
Jemile Weeks doubled, walked, stole a base and scored twice as the Orioles' leadoff hitter Friday.
Ryan Flaherty is the favorite to start at second base for the Orioles, but Weeks has a shot if he gets on base this spring. While the plan appears to be for Nick Markakis to lead off, Weeks would be a speedier alternative if he can secure a starting job.

Tue Dec 3 201300:07Jemile Weeks lands in Baltimore
Orioles acquired 2B Jemile Weeks and a player to be named later from the Athletics in exchange for RHP Jim Johnson.
Weeks had a promising rookie season but was way down the A's depth chart after batting just .219/.301/.300 the last two years. He lands in a good spot in Baltimore, as they're not set at the second base position. At best, though, he'll likely have to beat out a host of competitors for the job.

Two scouts told Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle that the Athletics are willing to trade Jemile Weeks but are "asking for quite a bit" in return.
Weeks doesn't seem to really be in the A's plans anymore, as he's been used as a utility player and DH at Triple-A Sacramento lately. Though his recent track record in the majors is poor, he's a guy that could have some success with a change of scenery.
