The home run by Viciedo was the only run that the White Sox could provide for starter Jose Quintana. Viciedo (.239/.285/.412) remains a good source of power but his inconsistencies with the bat and low batting average in general keep him from taking the next step as a player.

Gordon Edes of ESPNBoston.com reports that the Mariners and Giants have had trade discussions with the White Sox regarding Dayan Viciedo.

Dayan Viciedo had two hits including a two-run home run in the White Sox' 8-2 win over the Giants on Tuesday.
Viciedo also scored two runs in the victory. It was a rare bright spot in what's been mostly dark times for the 25-year-old this month. After Tuesday's game, Viciedo is just 6-for-52 (.115) with two RBI and two runs scored in June. The slump hasn't cut into his playing time, though, so AL-only managers can't cut ties with him just yet.

Sun Jun 8 201420:39Viciedo has two hits to break extended slump
Dayan Viciedo went 2-for-4 with a double in Sunday's loss to the Angels.
The hits were his first in six games, as he'd been 0-for-21 in the five games prior to Sunday. He hasn't seen his playing time dip much as a result of his struggles, but with Alejandro De Aza finally pulling out of his funk Viciedo could lose some at-bats if he doesn't quickly regain his early form. Perhaps Sunday was a sign of better times to come for Viciedo.

Dayan Viciedo went 3-for-5 with a home run and three runs scored in Sunday's monster win over the Rangers.
Viciedo fell a triple shy of the cycle, but with four career triples it's no huge surprise that he didn't accomplish the feat. Even so, the outfielder scored all three times on base while driving in two. The 25-year-old is 10-for-27 (.370) since becoming a regular a week ago, easing some of the pain of the loss of Avisail Garcia.

Tue Mar 11 201419:19Viciedo goes 2-for-4 against the Rangers
Dayan Viciedo went 2-for-4 with a double against the Rangers on Tuesday.
Viciedo is now hitting .350 in 20 Cactus League at-bats. That's good news for the White Sox who have recently had trade discussions involving Viciedo. For fantasy purposes, Viciedo doesn't offer much besides an ability to hit home runs. He hit 25 in 2012 and 14 last season in 70 fewer at-bats.
