Viciedo was removed from Friday's game with dizziness, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.

Prior to his departure, Viciedo marched in the White Sox's hit parade on Friday night, finishing 2-for-3 with a run scored and a pair of RBI. For now, he's considered day-to-day.

He has been Chicago's everyday left fielder for much of the season, and will get a rare day off Tuesday, with Alejandro De Aza sliding over to patrol left.

Viciedo hit his 16th homer of the season on Friday against the Mariners, as he went 1-for-4 with a run scored and one RBI.

The home run by Viciedo was the only run that the White Sox could provide for starter Jose Quintana. Viciedo (.239/.285/.412) remains a good source of power but his inconsistencies with the bat and low batting average in general keep him from taking the next step as a player.

Viciedo is out of the lineup Friday against the Twins.

Viciedo has played each of the last seven games for the White Sox, but will take a day off Friday in favor of Moises Sierra in right, who will bat ninth for the Sox against the Twins.

Viciedo launched a solo homer in the fourth inning to begin the scoring for the White Sox. He also finished with three singles. The 25-year-old has really dropped off since the start of the season, but he has four home runs in his last seven games to bring his total up to 10 for the year. There's increased chatter that he could be a trade target in advance of the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline.

Gordon Edes of ESPNBoston.com reports that the Mariners and Giants have had trade discussions with the White Sox regarding Dayan Viciedo.

Edes also indicates that the Red Sox could have interest in the outfielder, as they pursued him heavily out of Cuba and are in need of right-handed power. The Mariners have discussed sending Brandon Maurer and another player to the White Sox for Viciedo, Edes says. Viciedo is making just $2.8 million this season and is under team control through 2017.

Viciedo connected with a Jered Weaver pitch for his ninth home run of the season. It was the outfielder's third blast in his last five games after hitting just one in the month prior. Overall, Viciedo is hitting .245/.298/.409 and isn't worth the hassle outside of AL-only leagues.

He hasn't seen his playing time dip much as a result of his struggles, but with Alejandro De Aza finally pulling out of his funk Viciedo could lose some at-bats if he doesn't quickly regain his early form. Perhaps Sunday was a sign of better times to come for Viciedo.

Vicedo entered the game in a 2-for-17 slide at the plate, but Sunday's two-hit effort pushes his batting line back up to .330/.393/.520 to go along with two homers and 12 RBI.

Viciedo is 14-for-24 with six extra-base hits in his last six games. He probably won't keep this up for much longer, but the White Sox might decide to move him into the cleanup spot anyway.

Viciedo singled thrice, doubled, and drew a walk in the effort. He has been on fire lately, with three multi-hit games out of his last four outings. Viciedo now carries a .361/.412/.525 slash line in 68 plate appearances, a welcome sight for the White Sox, who lost Avisail Garcia to left shoulder surgery recently.

Even so, the outfielder scored all three times on base while driving in two. The 25-year-old is 10-for-27 (.370) since becoming a regular a week ago, easing some of the pain of the loss of Avisail Garcia.

Viciedo is now hitting .350 in 20 Cactus League at-bats. That's good news for the White Sox who have recently had trade discussions involving Viciedo. For fantasy purposes, Viciedo doesn't offer much besides an ability to hit home runs. He hit 25 in 2012 and 14 last season in 70 fewer at-bats.
