Wed Aug 2812:31Weston Wilson Back From Paternity Leave
The Philadelphia Phillies reinstated infielder/outfielder Weston Wilson from the paternity list on Wednesday and optioned infielder Buddy Kennedy to Triple-A Lehigh Valley after Tuesday night's game in a corresponding move. It remains to be seen if Wilson will immediately jump back into the starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale against the Houston Astros at Citizens Bank Park. The 29-year-old ended up only missing two days for the birth of his child. Now that he's back, he'll mostly serve in a platoon role in the outfield for Philadelphia when the team faces a left-handed pitcher, limiting his fantasy appeal to NL-only leagues. He's a fine sleeper target in DFS against southpaws and has hit an impressive .353 overall (18-for-51) with only three home runs and seven RBI on the season. Wilson has gone 12-for-25 (.480) with two of his three homers against lefties in 2024.

Mon Aug 2617:28Phillies Place Weston Wilson On Paternity List
The Philadelphia Phillies placed infielder/outfielder Weston Wilson on the paternity list on Monday and recalled right-hander Max Lazar from Triple-A Lehigh Valley in a corresponding move. The Phillies also optioned left-hander Kolby Allard to Lehigh Valley and recalled infielder Buddy Kennedy from Lehigh Valley. Wilson can miss up to three days and is likely to be unavailable for the entire series against the visiting Houston Astros this week in a rematch of last year's World Series. The 29-year-old has hit a strong .353/.370/.647 with a 1.017 OPS in his 51 at-bats for the Phillies this year, albeit with only three home runs, seven RBI and 10 runs scored on the short side of a platoon in the outfield. Austin Hays is starting in left field for the Phils on Monday and is hitting ninth against Astros right-hander Ronel Blanco.

Fri Aug 1608:58Weston Wilson Hits For The Cycle On Thursday
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Weston Wilson went 4-for-5 with a single, double, triple, and a round-tripper to lead the Phillies to a victory on Thursday evening. Wilson also scored three runs and tallied one RBI. The Clemson product has made just ten starts since rejoining the Phillies in mid-July. Through this stretch, the 29-year-old has performed quite well with a .342/.350/.684 line, three home runs, seven RBI and two doubles. Wilson could begin to earn aa starting role in left field as Brandon Marsh has gone just 7-for-40 through August. Wilson could be worth adding in deeper leagues for now, given his recent hot stretch, and may eventually be a popular target in all leagues if he can find his way into the starting nine on a consistent basis.
