OF Keon Broxton moved into the Brewers' leadoff spot Sunday afternoon, replacing slumping 2B Jonathan Vilar. Broxton is batting .318 (27-for-85) this month with five doubles, two triples -- including one Sunday - four home runs and 11 RBIs.

OF Domingo Santana moved up to No. 2 in the Brewers' lineup Sunday and made the most of it with two hits including his first career grand slam. Manager Craig Counsell said that Santana's improved production -- he's batting .333 this month with 15 RBIs -- made it a no-brainer to put him into more of a run-producing role.

SS Orlando Arcia extended his hitting streak to a career-high eight games Sunday with a two-hit effort against Arizona. He's batting .387 (12-for-31) during that stretch with six runs, a double, a walk and two RBIs.

LHP Brett Anderson remains on the disabled list with his lower back strain. He was due to get off the DL on May 17, but is still in rehab process and may not return to the club until mid-June. Eddie Butler, who filled in for Anderson in a start last week at San Francisco, is slated to start Tuesday's game at San Diego.

RHP Jake Arrieta isn't ailing, but his pitch velocity is down which has led Chicago observers to wonder if he's hiding an injury. That led his agent, Scott Boras, to aggressively reply that a drop-off in velocity is normal among elite pitchers. He had charts created indicating similar velocity changes of star hurlers including Claytn Kershaw, Zach Greinke and Max Scherzer. "(They're) evaluating a player on a 60-day moment or a 10-start moment when he has three years of history. Don't do it. That's not fair. That's not an evaluation,'' Boras said. "The reality of it is Jake has a great history. He did in '14, '15, '16 and now he's doing it in '17." Arrieta has allowed ten home runs this season, well above his usual trend.

RF Jay Bruce went 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs, giving him 34 RBIs on the season in 45 games. That's good enough for the team lead and ties him for 10th in the NL. Bruce had just 19 RBIs in 50 games with the Mets in 2016.

DH Kennys Vargas was optioned to Triple-A Rochester after the 15-inning game Sunday with the Twins needing bullpen reinforcements. Vargas went 0-for-8 with four strikeouts Sunday, leaving him with a .258/.280/.483 slash line. He has five homers and 19 RBIs.

OF Yoenis Cespedes (strained left hamstring) had his second rehab start indefinitely postponed after coming up with soreness in his quad in his first game back with Class A St. Lucie on Friday. Cespedes hasn't played for the Mets since April 27.

2B Josh Harrison was 2-for-5 Sunday, extending his hitting streak to 10 games. That's the longest streak for a Pirates player this season and the fourth-longest active streak in the National League.

CF Andrew McCutchen went 1-for-4 Sunday, giving him hits in four straight games. He is 5-for-13 in that span. McCutchen's hit was the 1,342th of his career, tying catcher Manny Sanguillen for 18th all-time amongst Pirates players.

RF Gregory Polanco went 2-for-4 with a homer and scored two runs Sunday. In three games since returning from the disabled list on May 26, he is 5-for-13 (.385) with two home runs. He only hit one home run in 2017 in his 34 games before the injury.

2B/OF Ben Zobrist was not in the starting lineup again Sunday as he receives treatment for a sore wrist that developed in his first at-bat Friday against the Dodgers. No MRI is scheduled and the Cubs hope he is back in the lineup this week.

2B Javier Baez was back in the starting lineup for the Cubs Sunday against the Dodgers, leading off a day after Ian Happ started ahead of him and Baez had the day off.

OF Adam Duvall hit two home runs Sunday, his 12th and 13th of the season. Duvall is one of four Reds players to have at least 10 homers this season. Sunday marked the fourth multi-homer game of his career and first of 2017.

OF Scott Schebler hit his 15th home run of the season Sunday. The blast tied Schebler for the National League lead in home runs with Washington's Bryce Harper. Schebler homered twice in the series against the Phillies, and has five in his last eight games.

SS Zack Cozart boasts an 11-game hitting streak. Cozart had a 1-for-5 showing Sunday and went 6-for-13 in the series.

2B Jose Peraza extended his hitting streak to 13 games in Sunday's series finale. It's the best streak of the 23-year-old's career. Peraza went 2-for-5 on Sunday and led off the game with a single.

OF Howie Kendrick is expected to be activated off the disabled list Monday. Kendrick has been out since April 15 with an oblique injury. In 10 games this season, the 12-year major league veteran has a .333 average and .883 OPS.

3B Maikel Franco hit a single in the fourth inning to snap an 0-for-11 streak at the plate. The 24-year-old still had a tough series, going 1-for-10 as his season average dipped to .213. Franco was held out of the lineup for two games earlier in the week, and he continues to search for answers at the plate.

RHP Luis Garcia threw two perfect innings out of the Phillies bullpen Sunday, lowering his season ERA to 2.51. Garcia has not allowed a run in 10 of his 13 appearances this season, and has given up 14 hits in 14 1/3 innings.
