OF Leonys Martin agreed to a one-year contract with the Tigers, the team announced Tuesday. Terms of his deal were not announced by the Tigers, but USA Today reports Martin will make $1.75 million and could earn $1.1 million in incentives. Martin, 29, is entering his eighth big-league season after spending the 2017 campaign split between the Mariners and Cubs.

RHP Dan Otero signed a two-year contract with the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday to avoid arbitration. The deal includes a team option for the 2020 season, the Indians announced. Otero posted an 8-1 mark with a 2.14 ERA in 114 relief appearances for the Indians the past two seasons, including a 3-0 record in 2017. The Indians acquired Otero from the Philadelphia Phillies in December 2015 in exchange for cash considerations. The 32-year-old owns a 20-7 mark with a 2.91 ERA in six major league seasons with the San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics and Indians.

RHP Miles Mikolas was signed to a two-year contract, the St. Louis Cardinals announced on Tuesday. Financial terms were not disclosed by the Cardinals, but multiple reports have Mikolas receiving between $14 million and $16 million in the contract. Mikolas, who last pitched in the majors for the Texas Rangers in 2014, has flourished with the Yomiuri Giants of the Japan Central League during the past three seasons. The 29-year-old owns a 31-13 mark with a 2.18 ERA in 62 starts during that time, including 14-8 with a 2.25 ERA in 27 starts last season. Mikolas sports a 4-6 record with a 5.32 ERA in three major league seasons with the San Diego Padres and Rangers.

RHP Wily Peralta signed a one-year contract with the Kansas City Royals, the team announced Tuesday. Peralta will reportedly make $1.5 million this coming season. The option is worth $3 million with a $25,000 buyout. Peralta, 28, is coming off a poor season in which he went 5-4 with a 7.85 ERA in 19 appearances (eight starts) with the Milwaukee Brewers. He also spent time at Triple-A Colorado Springs in 2017, and went 1-0 with one save and a 3.38 ERA in 13 appearances with the Sky Sox.

RHP Tyler Thornburg and the Boston Red Sox agreed to terms on a one-year contract that avoided arbitration, the team announced Monday. Thornburg missed last season with a right shoulder impingement after the Red Sox acquired him from the Milwaukee Brewers on Dec. 6. The 29-year-old posted a 14-9 mark with a 2.87 ERA in 144 career appearances with the Brewers from 2012-16.

LHP Dallas Keuchel sustained a "minor (left) foot sprain" during the Astros' World Series championship parade, according to reports. TMZ Sports was first to report Keuchel's injury. The Astros confirmed the injury to the Houston Chronicle. Keuchel, who was seen wearing a walking boot, told TMZ he slipped during the celebration. The Chronicle reports Keuchel is expected to be ready for spring training in the middle of February.

C Welington Castillo has agreed to a two-year, $15 million deal with the White Sox. Castillo, 30, has a club option for the 2020 season at $8 million or a $500,000 buyout. The Dominican Republic native enjoyed the best season of his eight-year career as a member of the Baltimore Orioles in 2017, batting .282 with a .813 OPS and 20 home runs in 96 games. Castillo also led the majors by throwing out 44.4 percent of attempted base stealers. "Adding Welington benefits us both in the short and long term," said Rick Hahn, White Sox senior vice president/general manager.

RHP Danny Farquhar avoided arbitration with the White Sox and agreed to a one-year, $1.05 million contract for 2018. Farquhar, 30, went 2-0 with a 4.40 ERA in 15 appearances with the White Sox in 2017 after being signed as a free agent in July. The Louisiana-Lafayette product spent 2016 and the first half of 2017 with the Rays before being released and signed by the Sox.

3B Mike Moustakas, formerly of the Royals, has been named the American League Comeback Player of the Year. Moustakas slugged a career-high 38 home runs and hit .272 with 85 RBIs last season. He missed most of the 2016 season after sustaining a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee after colliding with teammate Alex Gordon pursuing a fly ball in a late-May game. Moustakas is now a free agent.

C Stephen Vogt agreed to a $3.065 million contract with the Brewers to avoid arbitration on Friday. The 33-year-old catcher and two-time All-Star as a member of the Athletics joined the Brewers via waivers last June. In 122 at-bats with the Brewers, Vogt hit .254 with eight home runs and 20 RBIs. Vogt made $2.965 million last season between the Brewers and A's.

RHP Greg Holland, formerly of the Rockies, has been named the National League Comeback Player of the Year. Holland, who missed the entire 2016 season recovering from Tommy John surgery, went 3-6 with a 3.61 ERA and 41 saves for the Rockies. His 41 saves were tied for second-most in the majors last season. Holland is now a free agent.

RHP Yusmeiro Petit agreed to a two-year, $10 million deal with the Athletics on Thursday. Petit, 33, is slated to earn $3.5 million in 2018 and $5.5 million in 2019. There is a contract option for 2020 at $5.5 million with a $1 million buyout. Petit was 5-2 with a 2.76 ERA for the Angels last season. He struck out 101 and walked just 18 in 91 1/3 innings.

RHP Jim Johnson was acquired by the Los Angeles Angels from the Atlanta Braves on Thursday in exchange for minor league pitcher Justin Kelly. Johnson converted 22 of 31 opportunities last season for the Braves. The 34-year-old New York native posted a 6-3 mark with a 5.56 ERA in 61 appearances in 2017. Johnson owns a 33-43 record with a 3.79 ERA in 612 career appearances for the Baltimore Orioles, Oakland Athletics, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Dodgers and Braves. His 176 saves rank seventh among active pitchers, trailing only Craig Kimbrel (291), Kenley Jansen (230), Aroldis Chapman (204), Joakim Soria (204), Greg Holland (186) and Mark Melancon (179).

RHP Brad Boxberger was traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks by the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday in exchange for minor league pitcher Curtis Taylor. Boxberger is two seasons removed from being an All-Star. The 29-year-old had 41 saves in 2015, but was a candidate to be non-tendered on Friday at the 5 p.m. ET deadline to offer arbitration-eligible players contracts. Boxberger overcame missing 80 games with a right flexor strain to post a 4-4 mark with a 3.38 ERA in 30 appearances last season with the Rays. He owns a 17-20 mark with 44 saves and a 3.19 ERA in 231 career innings.

RHP Hisashi Iwakuma signed a minor league contract with an invitation to spring training, the Mariners announced Monday. Iwakuma posted an 0-2 mark with a 4.35 ERA in six starts with the Mariners last season. The 36-year-old Japanese pitcher was placed on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder inflammation on May 10 before being transferred to the 60-day DL on July 24. Iwakuma underwent arthroscopic right shoulder debridement surgery on Sept. 27. He led the Mariners in wins (16), starts (33), innings pitched (199) and strikeouts (147) during the 2016 season.

LHP Blaine Hardy agreed on a one-year contract with the Detroit Tigers on Saturday, thus avoiding arbitration. The deal is worth about $750,000, according to the Detroit News. He made barely above the league minimum last year of about $520,000. He was eligible for arbitration for the first time this offseason. Hardy, 30, pitched in 35 games for Tigers in 2017 and had a 1-0 record with a 5.94 ERA over 33 1/3 innings with 28 strikeouts. Hardy also appeared in 34 games (two starts) with Triple-A Toledo and went 7-3 with three saves, a 3.10 ERA over 40 2/3 innings and 45 strikeouts. In four major league seasons with the Tigers, Hardy has a 9-4 record with a 3.62 ERA over 159 1/3 innings with 134 strikeouts in 164 outings

RF Aaron Judge underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder Monday, but is expected to complete his recovery before the start of spring training. The Yankees announced on Tuesday that Judge's procedure "involved a loose-body removal and cartilage clean-up, and was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles at the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic." Judge, 25, hit an AL-leading and a Yankees-rookie-record 52 home runs while driving in 114 runs and batting .284 over 155 games during his rookie campaign in 2017.

2B Jose Altuve is expected to be Houston's first MVP winner since Jeff Bagwell in the strike-shortened 1994 season. The 5-foot-6 Altuve led the majors with a .346 batting average and to go along with 24 homers and 81 RBIs in 153 games. The other AL MVP finalists are Yankees RF Aaron Judge and Indians INF Jose Ramirez.

LHP Clayton Kershaw, who tied for the major league lead with 18 wins and led the NL with a 2.31 ERA, is vying for his fourth NL Cy Young Award. His competitors are Nationals RHPs Max Scherzer and Stephen Strasburg.

RF Aaron Judge, who led the majors with 52 homers, is a finalist for both the AL Most Valuable Player award and AL Rookie of the Year.Judge is expected to become the Yankees' first Rookie of the Year winner since Derek Jeter in 1996 after hitting .284 with 52 homers, 114 RBIs, 128 runs and 127 walks. While he led the league with 208 strikeouts, Judge also led the league in runs, walks and home runs.
