Belise said after the game that he strained his right foot -- an injury he has had in the past. He walked gingerly toward the shower after talking to reporters, and it appears he is likely headed to the disabled list.

Rockies owner Dick Monfort has indicated that the club will pick up their portion of Matt Belisle's $4.25 million mutual option for 2014.
Belisle is likely to exercise his part, as well, after posting a disappointing 4.32 ERA across 72 appearances this season. While the right-hander didn't pitch ideally in 2013, he's been one of the Rockies' best relievers over the last few seasons and the club values his leadership.

Rockies manager Walt Weiss indicated Friday that Matt Belisle will be given a few extra days of rest in an attempt to get him back on track.
The 33-year-old has really struggled in the month of September, posting a 13.50 ERA over his 5 1/3 innings. He simply hasn't been himself throughout the 2013 season, leading to speculation that appearing in at least 74 games each of the previous three seasons may have taken its toll.

Matt Belisle explained Sunday that his recent struggles aren't a result of him wearing down, but he thinks he may have become too predictable with his pitches.
The usually dependable 33-year-old righty has posted a 4.50 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 54/13 K/BB ratio over 66 innings this season. Belisle was used in a league-leading 80 games in 2012, and hasn't been nearly as sharp this season.

Matt Belisle took his fifth loss after giving up a two-run homer to Marlon Byrd in the eighth inning against the Mets on Thursday.
Three of those losses have come in his last six appearances, and he's given up a total of 12 runs in his last seven outings. The Rockies have to hope it's just a slump, but it's possible all of those relief innings he's thrown the last few years are catching up to him.
