Tue Jun 28 202216:05Kolten Wong Activated And Starting On Tuesday
The Milwaukee Brewers have activated second baseman Kolten Wong (calf) from the 10-day injured list. He will be batting fifth in the lineup for Tuesday's game against right-hander Shane Baz and the Tampa Bay Rays. Wong missed about three weeks due to a calf injury. While he was gone, Luis Urias handled the keystone while Jace Peterson primarily covered Urias's usual third base post. Peterson is back in the outfield for Tuesday's game and should continue to see regular playing time with Wong back. Meanwhile, outfielder Jonathan Davis should see reduced action going forward.

Fri Jun 24 202218:19Kolten Wong Set For Rehab Assignment
Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Kolten Wong (calf) will start a rehab assignment this weekend. Wong has been out since early June with a calf injury and will need a rehab assignment before he can return. Originally, Wong planned on returning last weekend, but a setback has held him back longer than expected. The 31-year-old has middling power and speed potential, with five homers and eight steals already to his name. Outside of that, he isn't likely to help much, but he can still be a contributor in deeper leagues where home runs and steals are needed. He shouldn't need longer than a few games to gear up.

Sat Jun 11 202212:31Kolten Wong Lands On Injured List
The Milwaukee Brewers placed second baseman Kolten Wong (calf) on the 10-day injured list on Saturday with a right calf strain and recalled infielder/outfielder Mark Mathias and right-hander Peter Strzelecki from Triple-A Nashville in corresponding moves. Right-hander Luke Barker was also optioned to Nashville. Wong had been out of the lineup since leaving Tuesday's game early with a sore calf. The IL placement is retroactive to Wednesday. Luis Urias had shifted over to the keystone with Wong out this week, but Mathias will get the start at the keystone and hit ninth on Saturday against Washington Nationals left-hander Patrick Corbin. Wong is hitting a disappointing .228 this year with five home runs, but he does have eight stolen bases in 180 at-bats.

Tue Jun 7 202221:40Kolten Wong Exits Early With Calf Discomfort
Milwaukee Brewers' second baseman Kolten Wong (calf) was removed from Tuesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies with calf right calf discomfort. He went 0-for-1 before exiting. Keston Hiura replaced the 31-year-old in the fourth inning. Wong continues to deal with a calf issue and missed a game last week after being hit by a pitch in the calf. The severity of his calf injury is unknown, and Wong is considered day-to-day. Hiura would see an uptick in playing time if Wong were to miss any games. The 25-year-old is a speculative add in most league formats after hitting .218 with five home runs and two stolen bases over 29 games in 2022.

Milwaukee Brewers infielder Kolten Wong put together a strong performance during Sunday's game against the San Diego Padres. Wong has been off to a slow start to the season, but finally got the bat going on Sunday. He went 2-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in the 6-4 loss. This performance marked his fifth career multi home run game. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come for Wong.

Tue May 24 202213:08Kolten Wong Among Leaders In Steals
Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Kolten Wong has stolen five bases in May, keeping him among the league leaders in steals on the season with eight. He has only been caught once this season. Although a .226/.310/.380 slash line leaves plenty to be desired, Wong has also chipped in three homers, 20 runs, and 13 RBI in 153 plate appearances. The steals alone would keep him on fantasy rosters, but the runs make him a solid starter in most formats.

Thu May 5 202211:41Kolten Wong Out, Luis Urias Leading Off Thursday
Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Kolten Wong is not in the starting lineup on Thursday, while third baseman Luis Urias moves to second base and up to the leadoff spot against Cincinnati Reds right-handed rookie Hunter Greene. Urias hit ninth and seventh in his first two games back from the injured list, but he'll move up to leadoff on Thursday with Wong getting a breather. The 24-year-old will have added DFS intrigue out of the leadoff spot against the hard-throwing Greene on Thursday. Meanwhile, Jace Peterson will get the start at the hot corner and will hit eighth for the Brew Crew. Peterson has just seven hits in 44 at-bats with one home run and four RBI and is a desperation DFS selection.

Fri Apr 22 202221:12Kolten Wong Removed From Friday's Game With Illness
Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Kolten Wong left Friday night's game against the Philadelphia Phillies with a stomach illness. Wong went 0-for-1 before leaving the contest following the top of the third inning. He was replaced in the lineup by first baseman Rowdy Tellez, with Keston Hiura sliding over to second base. Look for the Brewers to update Wong's status after the game, although it seems unlikely that he will miss much time. Wong is off to a slow start in 2022, hitting just .188 with no homers and five RBI.

Thu Sep 30 202112:04Kolten Wong Sitting Again Thursday
Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Kolten Wong is out of the lineup for a second consecutive game on Thursday, according to MLB.com. There appear to be no injury concerns, but manager Craig Counsell is giving him extra rest before the postseason. The slick-fielding Wong is in the midst of his best offensive campaign, slashing .274/.338/.451 with 14 HRs, 11 SBs, and 70 runs across 113 games. It'll be Luis Urias who takes his spot at second and will leadoff. In his first full season, Urias has been productive at the plate, batting .248 with 22 HRs, 73 RBI, 75 runs, and an 11.3 BB% over 147 contests. If he's not already rostered, he's a good player to stream in almost every league.

Thu Sep 23 202113:06Kolten Wong Good To Go On Thursday
Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Kolten Wong (hamstring) is slotted into his usual leadoff spot for Thursday's game against his former team, the St. Louis Cardinals. Wong is clearly feeling a lot better today assuming the cautious approach is true. Sun Jul 25 202102:43Sandoval loses no-hitter in 9th, Angels beat Twins 2-1
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Patrick Sandoval had his no-hit bid broken up with one out in the ninth inning on a soft double by rookie Brent Rooker and the Los Angeles Angels beat the Minnesota Twins 2-1 on Saturday night. Sandoval, a 24-year-old lefty who began the game with a 3-13 career record, struck out a career-high 13. There have already been seven no-hitters in the majors this season. The big league record of eight was set in 1884, the first year overhand pitching was permitted. The Twins hadn’t come close to a hit until Rooker, who fanned his first three times up, flared an opposite-field fly that fell just inside the line in right. Sandoval (3-4) smiled after the ball fell, retired the next batter and then was pulled after 108 pitches. He walked one and hit two. Closer Raisel Iglesias allowed an RBI double to Josh Donaldson before getting his 21st save in 25 chances. José Berríos (7-5) allowed two unearned runs in seven innings in perhaps his final start for Minnesota. ASTROS 4, RANGERS... [More]
