DETROIT (AP) — The Philadelphia Phillies have put Brad Miller on the 10-day injured list, less than 24 hours after he made a game-saving throw from left field against Detroit.The Phillies said Wednesday that Miller has a right hip flexor strain. 2B Sean Rodriguez had a solo homer and run-scoring single in Thursday's 7-5 victory over the Detroit Tigers. The homer was his second since being acquired from Atlanta on Aug. 5. Rodriguez's versatility gives manager Clint Hurdle much more flexibility with his lineups and in-game maneuvers. He has played four positions -- shortstop, second, third and right field -- in his first four games since the Braves traded him away for a minor leaguer.

SS Sean Rodriguez, in what would seem to be well deserved, started in his second game back with Pittsburgh after being picked up from Atlanta off of waivers Saturday. He entered Sunday's game in the eighth and, in the 12th, hit a walkoff homer for a 5-4 win against San Diego. Rodriguez spent the previous two seasons with the Pirates before signing with the Braves, and he missed about the first half of the season following a bad auto accident and resulting shoulder surgery. His second game back wasn't as exciting. He was 0-for-3, including grounding into a double play.

INF/OF Sean Rodriguez, re-acquired Saturday off waivers from Atlanta, hit his third career walk-off homer, off San Diego's Buddy Baumann in the 12th. He arrived shortly before the game and was activated. He came in at second base during a double-switch in the top of the eighth to a nice cheer from the crowd, and moved to first in the 11th. "When I made contact, I definitely knew I hit it hard enough to get out. "I definitely want to win. If I can contribute, this is definitely one way," Rodriguez said of the homer.

INF/OF Sean Rodriguez was acquired from the Atlanta Braves on Saturday in exchange for minor league infielder Connor Joe. This will be Rodriguez's second stint with the Pirates. He hit a combined .260 with 28 doubles, 22 home runs and 73 RBIs in 279 games between 2015-16 with Pittsburgh after being acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays in a December 2014 trade. "He brings a unique energy," Pirates manager Clint Hurdle said.

INF/OF Sean Rodriguez hit a pinch-homer on Friday night, his second in seven at-bats. Rodriguez, who made his 2017 debut on July 17, took Phillies reliever Hoby Milner deep in the seventh inning. It was his fourth career pinch-hit home run.
