Gonzalez pitched five solid innings, giving up one run on five hits to pick up the win Wednesday against the Rockies.
Gonzalez retired the first nine Rockies he faced before Charlie Blackmon singled to start the fourth. After Blackmon stole second, he scored on Carlos Gonzalez's single. With Chad Billingsley (shoulder) on the DL, Gonzalez was recalled prior to the game from Triple-A Lehigh Valley for his third big league start. He'll pick up another start Monday against the Mets.

Gonzalez will be recalled from Triple-A to start Wednesday's game.
As expected, Gonzalez will be the temporary replacement for Chad Billingsley (shoulder), who was placed on the DL on Sunday. Gonzalez was originally scheduled to make a Triple-A start for Lehigh Valley on Wednesday, so he'll take the hill on normal rest.

Gonzalez will likely be recalled from Triple-A to start Wednesday for the Phillies, the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
The Phillies placed Chad Billingsley on the disabled list Sunday with a strained shoulder. Gonzalez is scheduled to pitch Wednesday for Lehigh Valley, so his schedule lines up nicely to fill in for Billingsley.

Manager Ryne Sandberg said Gonzalez is a candidate to pitch when the Phillies next need a fifth starter, the Philadelphia Daily News reports.
The Phillies won't need a fifth start until May 12. Sean O'Sullivan, who starts a rehab assignment Thursday, is the likely other candidate for the start. Gonzalez allowed two runs in five innings Sunday against the Marlins before being optioned back to Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Gonzalez was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday.
Gonzalez's second start of the season went much better than his first, as he struck out five Marlins over five innings of two-run ball to pick up the first win of his career. It still wasn't enough to keep a spot in the rotation, with Chad Billingsley (elbow) on track to make his Phillies debut Tuesday against the Braves. Philadelphia may temporarily use a four-man rotation, until Sean O'Sullivan (knee) return.

Gonzalez is expected to make another start Sunday against the Marlins, the Phillies' official site reports.
Gonzalez was roughed up in his major league debut. He allowed seven runs on 10 hits in just 2.2 innings Tuesday against the Cardinals. Gonzalez's hold on a rotation spot is expected to be short lived with Chad Billingsley likely to come off the disabled list in early or mid-May.

Gonzalez was mauled in his MLB debut Tuesday in St. Louis, as he gave up seven runs on 10 hits and two walks in just 2.2 innings.
Well, that's about as poor a first impression as you can make. Gonzalez certainly didn't put forth much of a case for a rotation spot, and his numbers in the minors over the last two seasons don't point to a terrific amount of upside. That said, he's still just 22 years old.

Gonzalez will be promoted from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Tuesday to make his major league debut against the Cardinals, CSN Philadelphia reports.
Gonzalez is 1-1 with a 3.57 ERA and a 9:2 K:BB ratio in 17.2 innings for Lehigh Valley this season. He throws a low-90s fastball that he compliments with a curveball, cutter and changeup.
