Hundley, 34, batted .244 with nine homers and 35 RBIs last season while serving as Buster Posey's backup. Hundley hit .249 for his career with 81 homers and 340 RBIs in 847 games with San Diego Padres, Baltimore Orioles, Colorado Rockies and Giants.

C Nick Hundley was honored before the game with the presentation of the Giants' annual Willie Mac Award, identifying the club's most inspirational player in 2017. C Nick Hundley had a three-run and four RBIs in his 61st start at catcher this season Monday. C Buster Posey has made 22 starts at first base this year, tied for the second-most in his carer.
