Demeritte has been suspended 80 games for using a banned substance, Anthony Andro of FOX Sports Southwest reports.
Demeritte will be eligible to return later this season, but the suspension will essentially cost him the rest of current campaign. He has posted a .241/.343/.412 slash line to go along with five home runs and 19 RBI through 48 games with High-A Hickory this season.
