Sat Apr 16 202221:55Nick Senzel Placed On COVID-19 IL
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Nick Senzel (illness) was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Saturday. According to Bobby Nightengale Jr. of Cincinatti.com, Senzel was at the ballpark Friday but was sent to the hotel when he was feeling sick before the first pitch. The 26-year-old is considered day-to-day as the COVID-IL has no set minimum number of days. Senzel has struggled to start the year, hitting .118 with an RBI over five games. Right-hander Daniel Duarte was recalled in a corresponding move. Fantasy managers should continue to stash Senzel in deep-league formats as he could return to action soon if he submits a negative test in the upcoming days.

Sat Apr 16 202213:16Nick Senzel Could Return On Saturday
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Nick Senzel (illness) has been out of the lineup since colliding with teammates Tommy Pham on Tuesday. He has missed each of the last three games due to illness and not because of the collision with Pham. The young outfielder was reportedly feeling better on Friday. Possibly, Senzel returns to the lineup for Saturday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The upside is there for Senzel, but fantasy managers might have to be patient with him.

Mon Mar 21 202218:29Nick Senzel Avoids Arbitration
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Nick Senzel signed a one-year deal worth $1.2 million to avoid arbitration with the organization. This is a good deal for the oft-injured outfielder. The 26-year-old should get a chance to start everyday in center field and prove himself. He has a solid mix of power and speed that should make him an intriguing late round draft selection. However, Senzel has played a total of 59 big league games over the last two seasons. The hope is that he'll be able to stay healthy and earn himself a better deal next season.

Sun Mar 13 202218:42Nick Senzel Likely To Start In Center Field
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Nick Senzel is likely to begin the season as the starting center fielder, according to manager David Bell. He should be joined by Jesse Winker and Tyler Naquin in the corners. The former second overall pick has struggled to stay healthy in the big leagues. In fact, Senzel was limited to 36 games in 2021 due to a left knee injury. The 26-year-old still has plenty of potential, assuming he can stay on the field. He could be someone worth looking at in the late rounds of fantasy drafts.

Thu Aug 19 202119:17Nick Senzel Placed Back On Injured List Thursday
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Nick Senzel (knee) was placed back on the 10-day injured list on Thursday with fluid on his knee, according to Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Enquirer. Senzel had just been activated from the injured list on Sunday and was optioned to Triple-A, but after several examinations from doctors this week, it was determined he had a buildup of fluid in his knee resulting from the arthroscopic surgery that had kept him sidelined since mid-May. Nightengale reports that Senzel had attempted to play through the pain over the past few days at Triple-A, but he was unable to keep it up. Senzel is slashing .252/.323/.315 with one homer, two steals, eight RBI and 18 runs scored over 36 games this year, and at this point managers in redraft formats can safely drop him to the waiver wire.

Sun Aug 15 202113:45Nick Senzel Activated From IL, Optioned To Triple-A
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Nick Senzel (knee) was activated from the 60-day injured list on Sunday and optioned to Triple-A Louisville, according to Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Enquirer. Senzel has been out of action since mid-May due to arthroscopic knee surgery, and prior to the injury he was slashing .252/.323/.315 with one homer, two steals, eight RBI and 18 runs scored over 36 games. General manager Nick Krall said that the decision to keep Senzel at Triple-A was to maintain some depth on their roster, as Senzel still had options remaining. It's unclear just when Senzel could get called up to rejoin Cincinnati, but the reality is it's unlikely he'll have much value in fantasy to close out the year.

Tue Aug 10 202121:22Nick Senzel Doubles, Singles Twice In Rehab Game
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Nick Senzel (knee) had two singles and a double in a rehab game at Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday. Senzel has been on the injured list since May after having arthroscopic knee surgery. The veteran outfielder was hitting .252 with a homer, 18 runs, eight RBI, and two steals over 36 games before the injury. He is trending toward rejoining the team in the next week or so. Senzel has been playing outfield and shortstop during his rehab assignment.

Thu Jul 29 202123:55Nick Senzel To Begin Rehab Assignment Friday
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Nick Senzel (knee) is scheduled to play in his first rehab game Friday for Triple-A Louisville, according to Bobby Nightengale of the Cincinnati Enquirer. The 26-year-old underwent arthroscopic on his left knee in late May and is on track for a return in early August, barring any setbacks during his rehab assignment. The former #2 overall pick is also expected to get reps in the outfield and shortstop, increasing his flexibility to stay in the lineup for the Reds and fantasy managers. Senzel makes for an interesting add in deep mixed leagues with his power-speed profile. Before going on the shelf, Senzel was hitting .252/.323/.315 with a homer, eight RBI, and two steals in 111 at-bats.

Thu May 27 202115:44Senzel set for knee surgery, Hoffman added to Reds IL
CINCINNATI (AP) — Nick Senzel of the Cincinnati Reds is scheduled to have knee surgery on Friday and could miss four to six weeks. The Reds also announced Thursday that right-handed starter Jeff Hoffman has been put on the 10-day injured list with a sore shoulder. Senzel, who began the season as the center fielder before moving to third base, has been on the 10-day injured list with left knee inflammation since last Friday. He hasn't played since May 17. Senzel and Hoffman are the latest injuries for the Reds. First baseman Joey Votto is recovering from a fractured thumb. Mike Moustakas, who moved from third base to first base after Votto was hurt, is out with a heel injury. Left-handed starter Wade Miley, who threw a no-hitter against Cleveland May 7, was put on the 10-day injured list May 21 with a left foot sprain. Outfielder Aristides Aquino, on the injured list since April 16 when he had hand surgery, is expected to begin a rehab assignment at Triple-A Louisville in the next week. ___ More AP MLB: https://apnews.com/hub/MLB and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports

BALTIMORE (AP) — Trey Mancini hit a go-ahead solo homer and later knocked in an insurance run, Jorge López and four relievers combined on a four-hitter and the Baltimore Orioles beat the Boston Red Sox 4-1 on Monday night. The Orioles had dropped their first six games at Camden Yards this season against the Red Sox and avoided a four-game sweep. It was the first time the home team won in 10 games between the teams this season. Boston still has the best record (22-14) and the best road record (12-5) in baseball. Baltimore’s bullpen combined for 3 1/3 scoreless innings, retiring all 10 batters it faced. Tanner Scott (2-2) struck out his only hitter to complete the sixth, Travis Lakins Sr. and Paul Fry both completed perfect innings, and César Valdez worked the ninth for his eighth save. Fri May 7 202122:45Reds' Wiley has no-hitter thru 8 innings against Indians
CLEVELAND (AP) — Cincinnati's Wade Miley is pitching a no-hitter through eight innings against the Cleveland Indians on Friday night. The left-hander has been in control of a Cleveland team that entered the series batting just .213 but has won five straight and nine of 11. But although he's shutting down the Indians, Zach Plesac is doing the same to the Reds, who haven't scored either. The Indians didn't get a baserunner until the sixth, when Amed Rosario reached on second baseman Nick Senzel's throwing error. Senzel was actually charged with two errors on the play. Miley has thrown 106 pitches. Franmil Reyes has come the closest to getting a hit for the Indians, but his hard smash in the fifth was right at shortstop Kyle Farmer, who knocked it down and had plenty of time to throw out the slow-footed slugger. Miley, who came in just 1-4 in eight career starts against the Indians, recorded four strikeouts the first time through Cleveland's lineup. The 34-year-old Miley is bidding to throw the fourth no-hitter in the majors this season. The Indians were no-hit last month by Chicago's Carlos Rodón. Miley is in his second season with Cincinnati. He's also pitched for Houston, Milwaukee, Baltimore, Seattle, Boston and Arizona. Cincinnati's last no-hitter was by Homer Bailey in 2013 — his second with the club. ___ More AP MLB: https://apnews.com/hub/MLB and https://twitter.com/AP_Sports
