Wed Jul 12 202318:32Tommy Pham Considered Day-To-Day
New York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham (groin) was re-evaluated on Wednesday and is considered day-to-day with right-groin soreness, according to the team. Pham left the finale of the first half of the season on Sunday against the San Diego Padres after tweaking his groin, but it sounds like he'll avoid a trip to the injured to begin the second half this weekend. The 35-year-old should be back on Friday to start a series against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers, but fantasy managers will want to check back on Friday just to be sure. Pham had a strong first half for the Mets and leads the team with an .836 OPS through 206 at-bats. With the Mets well out of first place in the National League East, he could be a trade candidate come the Aug. 1 deadline.

Mon Jul 10 202320:22Tommy Pham's MRI Comes Back Negative
New York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham's (groin) MRI exam in New York on Monday came back negative, according to the team. Pham had tests done on his right groin after tweaking it in Sunday's loss to the San Diego Padres, but thankfully it doesn't appear to be too serious of an injury. And with the All-Star break this week, Pham's injury comes at a good time. The second half of the season doesn't kick off until Friday, so the 35-year-old veteran could be ready for this weekend's series opener against the visiting Los Angeles Dodgers. Fantasy managers will need to check back on Friday to see if he's active. Pham has had a pretty solid season for the Mets, hitting .277 with nine home runs, 34 RBI, 10 stolen bases and 25 runs scored. He went into the break hot, going 16-for-45 (.356) with two homers, four doubles, five RBI, two steals and seven runs scored in his last 12 games since June 27.

Sun Jul 9 202316:34Tommy Pham Injured On Sunday
New York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham (groin) exited Sunday's meeting with the Padres. He didn't last long before suffering a groin injury while fielding a hit in the bottom of the first. The 35-year-old is batting .278 with 57 hits, nine homers, and 34 RBI, so it's not an ideal situation. There should be an update on Pham's condition soon. However, judging by his level of distress, he'll probably miss some time.

Fri Jun 30 202312:24Tommy Pham Could Be Traded
New York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham has become the team's most productive hitter in the last month or so. Since May 18, he is hitting .324 (33-for-102) with five home runs, nine doubles, a triple, 22 RBI, seven stolen bases and 15 runs scored in 30 games played. It has crossed Pham's mind that he could be traded before the Aug. 1 deadline with the Mets sitting at 36-45, 17.5 games out of first place in the National League East. The 35-year-old has been part of deadline deals in the past. He has become the everyday left fielder and is now hitting .273 (47-for-172) with eight homers, 31 RBI and nine steals in 60 games in Queens. For Pham, a change of scenery may be exactly what he doesn't need, as he seems to be pretty comfortable in his current situation in New York.

Sun May 28 202322:53Tommy Pham Comes Out Of Nowhere With Huge Effort
New York Mets outfielder/designated hitter Tommy Pham went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two stolen bases, and two runs scored on Sunday, but the team was outscored 11-10 against the Colorado Rockies. The 35-year-old didn't sign with the Mets until the late stages of the offseason and has underwhelmed overall. The three-hit attack raised his average to a still faint .225 with three homers, 14 RBI and five swipes over 89 at-bats this season. Pham may have helped DFS players take down a tournament on Sunday, but we wouldn't advocate adding the journeyman off fantasy waivers at this time despite the great performance. He's immersed in a part-time role with multiple New York batters.

Fri Mar 31 202318:39Tommy Pham Playing On Friday
New York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Miami Marlins. The veteran outfielder will bat eighth versus left-hander Jesus Luzardo on Friday. The 35-year-old went 0-for-2 with a strikeout on Opening Day. He is hopeful for better results during Friday's contest. Although, Pham didn't have much success at the plate last season. He'll mainly serve as a fourth outfielder for this Mets roster.

Fri Mar 31 202316:00Tommy Pham Starting Friday Against Marlins
New York Mets outfielder Tommy Pham will make his first start of the year on Friday against the Miami Marlins and left-hander Jesus Luzardo. Pham is starting in left field and is batting eighth in the lineup. Mark Canha will serve as the designated hitter and Tomas Nido will do the catching. Daniel Vogelbach and Omar Narvaez are on the bench against the lefty. Pham didn't get the start on Opening Day on Thursday, but he entered for two at-bats and went hitless with one strikeout in a 5-3 win. The 35-year-old veteran had one of the worst seasons of his career in 2022 with the Cincinnati Reds and Boston Red Sox, thanks mostly to a career-high 26.8 percent strikeout rate. He'll be on the short side of a platoon in his first year in Queens.

Wed Jan 18 202314:34Mets Agree To Terms With Tommy Pham
The New York Mets have reportedly agreed to terms with free-agent outfielder Tommy Pham on a one-year deal worth $6 million, per a tweet from the New York Post's Jon Heyman on Wednesday morning. Pham split the 2022 season with the Cincinnati Reds and Boston Red Sox, hitting a cumulative .236 with a .312 on-base percentage, 17 home runs and eight stolen bases in 622 plate appearances. As of now, New York's current outfield options on the team's 40-man roster include Mark Canha, Brandon Nimmo, Khalil Lee, and Starling Marte. Pham will serve as New York's fourth outfielder and can provide some pop in deeper mixed fantasy leagues.

Fri Jan 13 202313:18Mets Considering Tommy Pham
With outfielder Andrew McCutchen returning to the Pittsburgh Pirates, the New York Mets are now considering free-agent outfielder Tommy Pham as their fourth outfielder, among others. Trey Mancini, Adam Duvall, Jurickson Profar and Tyler Naquin are other possibilities that remain on the open market. Pham became a free agent this offseason when the Boston Red Sox declined his $6 million mutual option for 2023. The 34-year-old hit a combined .236/.312/.374 with a .686 OPS, 17 home runs, 63 RBI, 89 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 622 plate appearances and 144 combined games for the Red Sox and Cincinnati Reds in 2022. He's no longer the on-base machine he used to be in his prime, but he'd make for a decent fourth outfielder for the Mets.

Tue Nov 8 202200:50Red Sox Decline Tommy Pham's Team Option Monday
The Boston Red Sox declined outfielder Tommy Pham's one-year, $12 million team option Monday, per the Athletic's Chad Jennings. The veteran was traded from the San Diego Padres during the 2022 season and ended up with a .236/.312/.374 slash line, 17 home runs, 63 RBI, and eight stolen bases in 622 total plate appearances. Pham has shown an intriguing combination of power and speed at times throughout his career, but he has not been able to combine those skills with a decent batting average for the past several seasons. He will be a free agent heading into the off-season.

Wed Oct 5 202218:16Tommy Pham Scratched On Wednesday
Boston Red Sox outfielder Tommy Pham was scratched from the starting lineup on Wednesday in the season finale against the Tampa Bay Rays due to an undisclosed reason. We'll likely have a reason for Pham's absence at some point, but the 34-year-old will finish his season with a .236/.312/.374 slash line with 17 home runs, 63 RBI, 89 runs scored and eight stolen bases in 622 plate appearances and 144 games with the Red Sox and Cincinnati Reds. In his 53 games with Boston, he went 50-for-214 (.234) with six homers, 24 RBI, 32 runs and a steal. With Pham being scratched, Abraham Almonte took over in left field and hit ninth in the batting order against Rays left-hander Josh Fleming on Wednesday.

Thu Aug 25 202216:14Xander Bogaerts, Tommy Pham Return Against Blue Jays
Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts (back) and outfielder Tommy Pham (back) are both back in the starting lineup on Thursday against Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Kevin Gausman. Bogaerts is back at short and hitting cleanup, while Pham is in left field and batting leadoff. Both players left the game early on Tuesday with lower back spasms, but they're back in there against Toronto. Bogaerts hasn't hit well in August, but he's still slashing .298/.369/.439 with an .808 OPS, 10 long balls, 50 RBI, 66 runs scored and seven stolen bases in 433 at-bats this year. Pham has hit .267/.295/.493 with three homers, 13 RBI and 12 runs scored in 18 games since being acquired from the Cincinnati Reds at the trade deadline.

Wed Aug 24 202211:29Xander Bogaerts, Tommy Pham Won't Play Wednesday
Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts (back) and outfielder Tommy Pham (back) will not play on Wednesday against the Toronto Blue Jays. Bogaerts left Tuesday's game early with mid-back spasms after going 0-for-2 with a walk. Meanwhile, Pham also left with back spasms in the same contest. It's unclear if either player will need a stint on the injured list, but for now, fantasy managers should consider them day-to-day. Pham also missed the game last Saturday, so his injury could be a bit more serious. Bogaerts is hitting a strong .298/.369/.439 with an .808 OPS, 10 home runs, 50 RBI, 66 runs scored and seven stolen bases and is a must-start whenever he's in the lineup. In 18 games with Boston, Pham has gone 20-for-75 (.267) with three homers, 13 RBI and 12 runs scored.

Tue Aug 23 202222:17Tommy Pham Exits Early With Back Spasms
Boston Red Sox outfielder Tommy Pham (back) was removed from Tuesday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays with lower-back spasms. Pham exited Tuesday's contest early after crashing into the Green Monster while attempting to make a play on a double from Jackie Bradley Jr. He missed last Saturday's game due to a back issue, and the injury flared up again on Tuesday. The 34-year-old went 0-for-2 before leaving. The severity of Pham's injury is unknown, and he is considered day-to-day. Rob Refsnyder replaced Pham in the third inning and could see an increase in playing time if the veteran is forced to miss any time.

Sat Aug 20 202213:52Tommy Pham Will Sit Out On Saturday
Boston Red Sox outfielder Tommy Pham (back) will not be in the lineup on Saturday against the Baltimore Orioles. Pham told reporters that his back "jammed up" on him and that he won't play on Saturday. The Red Sox have not officially released a lineup yet but it's safe to assume Pham won't be in there. He also mentioned that the IL is not an option so this sounds like a day-to-day situation for the 34-year-old. He's slashing .271/.292/.500 with three home runs and 12 RBI across 70 at-bats with Boston.

Fri Aug 19 202221:57Tommy Pham Leaves With Back Tightness
Boston Red Sox outfielder Tommy Pham left Friday's game against the Baltimore Orioles with tightness in his lower back. Pham was having a big night at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, a run, and three RBI. He was replaced in the lineup by Bobby Dalbec. Pham is hitting .244 with 14 homers, 69 runs, 52 RBI, and seven steals in 2022. Look for the Red Sox to update his injury status after Friday's game ends.

Sun Aug 7 202212:21Tommy Pham Hitting Leadoff Again Sunday
Boston Red Sox outfielder Tommy Pham is starting in left field and hitting leadoff on Sunday against Kansas City Royals right-hander Brad Keller. Pham was moved to the leadoff spot on Saturday and promptly went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts. It's part of manager Alex Cora's new plan to drop rookie outfielder Jarren Duran in the order -- Duran is batting ninth Sunday. Before hitting leadoff on Saturday, Pham hadn't hit in the top spot in the batting order in 95 previous games with the Reds and Red Sox this year. The 34-year-old has plenty of experience in the spot, though, and it should make him more attractive from a fantasy standpoint. In 360 at-bats this year, he's hitting .233/.314/.367 with 11 home runs, 39 RBI, 60 runs scored and seven stolen bases.

Mon Aug 1 202219:24Red Sox Acquire Tommy Pham From Reds
The Boston Red Sox acquired outfielder Tommy Pham from the Cincinnati Reds on Monday. It's unknown what the Reds are receiving in return. The Red Sox also sent catcher Christian Vazquez to the Houston Astros on Monday, so the Red Sox appear to be trying to walk the buy/sell tightrope this year. It remains to be seen if they will trade designated hitter J.D. Martinez before Tuesday's deadline. The 34-year-old Pham will head to Beantown after hitting .238/.320/.374 with 11 home runs, 39 RBI, 57 runs scored and seven stolen bases in 387 plate appearances over 91 games for the Reds. Pham's fantasy value shouldn't be affected by the move all that much, but if anything, he'll receive a slight boost while moving to a better Red Sox lineup.

Wed Jun 29 202216:56Tommy Pham Back In The Lineup On Wednesday
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Tommy Pham (back) is included in the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against left-hander Justin Steele and the Chicago Cubs. He'll be hitting out of his usual No. 3 spot and covering left field in the game. Pham was a late scratch from Tuesday's lineup as he was dealing with lower-back stiffness. The 34-year-old veteran is currently in the midst of his best offensive month of the year. Across 22 June games, he's slashed .265/.347/.482 with five home runs, two stolen bases, 13 RBI and 17 runs.
