CLEVELAND (AP) — The Cleveland Indians have placed pitcher Carlos Carrasco on the 10-day disabled list with a bruised right elbow.Carrasco was struck by Joe Mauer's line drive in the second inning of Saturday's 9-3 loss to Minnesota. The injury is a big blow for the Indians, whose strong rotation has kept them on top of the AL Central.The 31-year-old Carrasco is 8-5 with a 4.24 ERA in 15 starts.Cleveland also recalled right-hander Shane Bieber from Triple-A Columbus to make his second major league start Sunday. CHICAGO (AP) — Cleveland Indians star reliever Andrew Miller is just about ready to start facing live batters.Manager Terry Francona says the two-time All-Star had his "best" bullpen session Monday since he was placed on the 10-day disabled list in late May because of inflammation in his left knee. He will likely throw another one Wednesday and could start facing some hitters once the team opens a nine-game homestand on Friday.Francona says the Indians were waiting another day to decide whether to place catcher Roberto Perez on the DL. Cabrera, a 2012 All-Star, played 156 combined games last season for the Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Royals, batting .285 with 17 homers and 85 RBIs.In 10 games with Columbus since signing on April 23, Cabrera hit .286 in 42 plate appearances.To make room for Cabrera on the 40-man roster, the Indians optioned right-hander Evan Marshall to Columbus and designated right-hander Alexi Ogando for assignment.
