Ravelo (wrist) is still rehabbing from wrist surgery and is playing in simulated games at the A's spring training complex in Mesa, reports Kimberley Contreas of Scout.com.
Ravelo, acquired in an off-season trade with the White Sox, had wrist surgery in mid-March. Once his rehab is complete, he will likely report to the A's Double-A affiliate. In 133 games in Double-A in 2014, Ravelo had 11 homers and 10 steals and could have a shot to join the A's in 2016.
Fri Mar 13 201520:02Ravelo won't resume baseball activities for 6-8 weeks
Ravelo won't resume baseball activities for 6-8 weeks, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
Ravelo's surgery on his wrist went as planned Friday, and he will now begin the rehab process. When he does return, it will likely be at either the Double-A or Triple-A level.
Thu Mar 12 201518:22Ravelo will undergo surgery on wrist Friday
Ravelo will undergo surgery on his wrist Friday, Jane Lee of MLB.com reports.
Ravelo was traded from the White Sox to the Athletics in the offseason as part of the deal that sent Jeff Samardzija to Chicago. He stood little-to-no chance of snagging a roster spot out of camp, and the surgery assures he will begin the season somewhere in the minor leagues this season.

The White Sox traded Ravelo to the A's on Tuesday along with Marcus Semien, Chris Bassitt and Josh Phegley in exchange for Jeff Samardzija and Michael Ynoa.
Ravelo's name was not included in initial reports of the trade, but he will be headed to Oakland as part of the six-player swap. The 22-year-old Ravelo made the jump to Double-A Birmingham last season and posted an impressive .309/.386/.473 batting line with 11 homers, 10 steals and a 56:77 BB:K in 133 games, perhaps putting him in line for a utility role with the big club late in 2015.
