McCarthy has two singles in 17 at-bats to begin the season and is a poor DFS choice.

That setup could equate to fantasy gold. Varsho could potentially be a de facto outfielder who is catcher eligible for fantasy managers. Last year, over 95 games in the majors, he slashed .246/.318/.437 with 11 home runs, six stolen bases, 38 RBI and 41 runs. He's ranked as the fourth overall catcher in the RotoBaller rankings. We've yet to see him put it all together offensively in the majors, but if he can, he'll end up being an absolute steal in drafts.

Over 15 games in September, he's slashed .259/.283/.466 with two home runs, two stolen bases, eight RBI and seven runs. Fantasy managers in need of catcher help for the final 10 days of the year should take a hard look at Varsho if he's available.
