Sun May 28 202316:37Alec Bohm Is Absent From The Lineup On Sunday
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm is sitting out for Sunday's series finale against the Atlanta Braves. This is just a day off Bohm who is slashing .269/.325/.409 to go along with six home runs, 37 RBI, and two stolen bases over 193 at-bats on the year. Edmundo Sosa is starting at third base in his place and batting ninth against Spencer Strider and the Braves.

Fri Apr 7 202316:17Alec Bohm, Kody Clemens To Share 1B Playing Time
Philadelphia Phillies manager Rob Thomson said that infielder Kody Clemens will be the team's first baseman against right-handed pitchers with Darick Hall (thumb) unlikely to return until later this season due to a torn ligament in his thumb that requires surgery. Third baseman Alec Bohm could slide over to first base against left-handed pitchers, but Thomson said Bohm is "our third baseman." Edmundo Sosa and Josh Harrison could man the hot corner on days that Bohm shifts to first base. Clemens got the start at first on Friday against right-hander Hunter Greene and the Cincinnati Reds and hit eighth in the batting order. The 26-year-old hit just .145 with five homers and 17 RBI in 56 games in his first MLB season last year with the Detroit Tigers. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect much, but the uptick in playing time makes him worth a flier in deep-mixed and NL-only leagues.

Thu Feb 16 202315:06Alec Bohm Gains 5-10 Pounds Of Muscle
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm said that he gained five to 10 pounds of muscle during the offseason. Bohm had his best season in his third MLB campaign in 2022 on the way to helping the Phillies to a World Series appearance. He slashed .280/.315/.398 with a .713 OPS and career-highs in home runs (13), RBI (72) and runs scored (79) in 631 plate appearances over 152 games played. Cutting his strikeout rate from 26.6 percent to 17.4 percent was a big key to his improvement. However, the 26-year-old will need to get better at drawing walks and avoid chasing pitches outside the zone in order to continue his ascent offensively. There also isn't a ton of power projection moving forward, which limits his fantasy ceiling in the long term.

Tue Nov 1 202223:41Alec Bohm Hits Solo Shot In Game 3
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm hit a solo home run in Tuesday night's World Series Game 3 off Houston Astros starting pitcher Lance McCullers Jr. He also walked in four plate appearances, as the Phillies won the game 7-0 to take a 2-1 lead in the series. It's his first career playoff home run. Bohm has slashed a disappointing .208/.291/.375 in the postseason, but his struggles have not kept the Phillies from needing just two wins over the next four gams to take home the World Series title.

Sat Oct 15 202211:49Alec Bohm Goes Hitless Friday
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm didn't play a part in Friday's Game 3 9-1 victory over the Atlanta Braves, going 0-for-4 while failing to reach base. The 26-year-old hasn't done much over the three games of the Division Series, batting .188, but he does have a pair of doubles and three RBI. Over 152 games during the regular season, Bohm slashed .280/.315/.398 with 13 home runs, 79 runs, 72 RBI and two stolen bases. He has the potential to contribute to batting average going forward but offers little value everywhere else.

Wed Aug 17 202216:34Alec Bohm Ends Extra-Base Hit Drought
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm went 1-for-4 in Wednesday's 1-0 loss to the Cincinnati Reds. The hit was a double, which marked his first extra-base hit since August 6, 10 games ago. Bohm is having a decent year at the dish, batting .288, but has just eight home runs with 48 RBI, 58 runs, and one stolen base. The 26-year-old should continue playing every day while contributing a higher batting average, but the power remains absent for a second straight season. Bohm is serviceable, but won't be a difference maker for fantasy managers.

Thu Jul 28 202215:15Alec Bohm Hitting Third For Phillies Thursday
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm is starting at third base and is hitting third in the batting order on Thursday against the Pittsburgh Pirates and right-hander Zach Thompson. Bohm has been hot at the plate to kick off the second half of the season, and he's hitting a strong .293/.326/.403 with six home runs, 39 RBI, 47 runs scored and a stolen base in 335 at-bats on the year as a whole. This will be the first time he's hit third in the lineup since his rookie year in 2020. In the month of July, the 25-year-old is hitting .439 (25-for-57) with two home runs, 12 RBI and 11 runs scored in 16 games played. Keep Bohm planted firmly in your fantasy lineups while he's swinging a hot stick.

Mon Jul 11 202221:27Alec Bohm Exits Monday's Game Early
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm (wrist, hand) left Monday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals after appearing to suffer a hand injury. He seemed to have hurt his hand while sliding into second base during the second inning of Monday's contest. The 25-year-old went 1-for-1 before leaving and is considered day-to-day. He will undergo further evaluation, and the Phillies will provide an update after the game. Bohm was heating up before his injury, hitting .360 with two home runs and six RBI over his last seven games. Yairo Munoz replaced Bohm at third base. Munoz would see an uptick in playing time and is a speculative add in deep-league formats, while Bohm is sidelined.

Wed May 25 202201:54Alec Bohm Extends Hitting Streak To Four Games
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm hit a double and scored two runs in Tuesdays loss against Atlanta Braves. He has safely recorded a hit 20 times in 24 games in May. Although he doesnt possess massive power, his solid batting average should keep him on fantasy rosters. Considering its only his third season in the majors, he could continue to develop to be a better player. Hes now a corner-infield version of Michael Brantley with slightly less power.
Wed May 4 202215:38Nick Castellanos Back Wednesday, Alec Bohm Leading Off
Cincinnati Reds outfielder Nick Castellanos is back in the starting lineup on Wednesday after sitting out on Tuesday after his wife went into labor. He was never placed on the paternity list and is back in right field while hitting second on Wednesday against Texas Rangers left-hander Martin Perez. Meanwhile, third baseman Alec Bohm moves up to the leadoff spot after hitting second on Tuesday. The 25-year-old has earned a move up the order by cutting his strikeout rate to a career-best 14.9% while slashing .309/.373/.455 with a 10.2% barrel rate through the first month of the season. Castellanos needs to be back in all fantasy lineups as well, as he's hitting .286 with three home runs, 12 RBI and 11 runs scored in 23 contests this year.

Tue Apr 5 202214:42Bryson Stott, Alec Bohm Make Opening Day Roster
Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Bryson Stott and third baseman Alec Bohm have been informed that they've made the Opening Day roster. The Phillies believe they can make it work with both players in April without sacrificing too much playing time. Stott is the team's top prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and he had a 1.261 OPS with more walks than strikeouts in spring training to earn the call-up. There's a chance that the 24-year-old shortstop could platoon at third base with Bohm, who hit .247/.305/.342 with seven home runs, 47 RBI and 46 runs scored in 115 games for the Phils last year. Stott would have the upper hand for more at-bats in a straight platoon as the left-handed bat against right-handers, and he could also fill in at shortstop or second base, if needed.

Tue Sep 28 202119:28Alec Bohm Recalled From Triple-A On Tuesday
The Philadelphia Phillies called up third baseman Alec Bohm from Triple-A prior to Tuesday's game against the Atlanta Braves. He is expected to play a reserve role for the final week of the year, splitting third base duties with Freddy Galvis and Ronald Torreyes. The 25-year-old flashed a lot of potential as a rookie in 2020, slashing .338/.400/.481 over 44 games. However, this year was a different story as he slashed just .245/.302/.342 and saw his strikeout rate increase from 20% in 2020 to 26.5% this year. Hopefully the youngster can finish the year off strong and head into the offseason with some positivity.

Thu Aug 26 202120:25Alec Bohm An Option To Play First Base?
With Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins (abdominal) set to undergo season-ending surgery for a lower abdominal tear, the Phillies have a void at first base. Brad Miller, who entered Thursday in a 5-for-36 slump, received the first crack at the position. Alec Bohm, who was recently optioned to Triple-A, could become an option, but general manager Sam Fuld is pumping the brakes on that. Fuld said the team doesn't have immediate plans to have Bohm play first base in the minors, so it's unlikely that he'll be called up to replace Hoskins at the cold corner to close out the season. Bohm finished second in National League Rookie of the Year voting last year, but he's hit just .245/.302/.342 and has struggled on defense in 2021. The 25-year-old should be back up for the stretch run, and hopefully he can end the year on a high note.

Sun Aug 22 202114:36Alec Bohm Optioned To Triple-A On Sunday
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm was optioned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Sunday, according to Todd Zolecki of MLB.com. The move was made to make room for first baseman Rhys Hoskins, who was activated from the 10-day injured list. Bohm has struggled in his sophomore season, slashing .245/.302/.342 with seven home runs, four steals, 47 RBI and 46 runs scored over 111 games. His struggles hit a peak in August, where he's slashing .217/.280/.283 with four RBI, six runs scored and a 16:4 K:BB ratio over 17 games. He can be safely dropped in all redraft formats.

Sat Aug 21 202111:14Alec Bohm Whiffs Thrice Versus Padres As Struggles Continue
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in a win over the Padres on Friday night. Bohm now has just two hits in his last 20 at-bats with seven strikeouts in that span. Bohm was a top prospect for the Phillies and batted a healthy .338 across 44 games in 2020. He's hit a rough sophomore slump, though, as he's slashing just .245/.302/.342 this season with an anemic 76 wRC+. Bohm still possesses sky-high upside long-term, but Bohm is expendable in standard-size redraft leagues.

Tue Aug 3 202109:21Alec Bohm Collects Two Hits In Win Versus Nats
Philadelphia Phillies third baseman Alec Bohm went 2-for-5 with an RBI in a win over the Nationals on Monday. Bohm has a solid .254 batting average, but he's not hitting for much power as he's slugging just .354. Part of the problem has been too many grounders as Bohm's 5.3-degree launch angle and 53% ground ball rate won't get it done. The sophomore hits the ball hard; his average exit velocity is in the top-10% of all hitters and he's got a 50% hard-hit rate. If Bohm can elevate the ball more he could be a star. As it stands, he's a solid corner infield option in 12-team leagues and can be started with three more good matchups versus the Nationals lined up.

Sat Jul 31 202102:55Joey Votto homers for 7th straight game, 1 shy of MLB record
NEW YORK (AP) — Joey Votto homered for the seventh straight game, one shy of a major league record, and the Cincinnati Reds beat the New York Mets 6-2 on Friday night. Jonathan India went deep twice for the Reds, including a leadoff shot that came on Carlos Carrasco’s first pitch with the Mets. Acquired from Cleveland in January, the veteran right-hander finally made his New York debut after recovering from a hamstring injury. It was an up-and-down day for the Mets, who made a big deal to get Javier Báez from the Chicago Cubs before baseball’s trade deadline — and then revealed injured ace Jacob deGrom will be shut down for two more weeks because of inflammation in his pitching elbow, making it unlikely he’ll rejoin the NL East leaders before September. Báez was acquired from the Cubs along with right-hander Trevor Williams for outfield prospect Pete Crow-Armstrong, the Mets’ first-round pick in the 2020 amateur draft. Báez is expected to join the Mets on Saturday and will play shortstop... [More]
