LaRoche is out of the lineup against the Indians on Monday.

LaRoche, who was supposed to DH for the White Sox on Monday, was a late scratch due to a reported case of knee soreness. He's day-to-day as of now, but that could change with more information available after the game.

Left-hander Tommy Milone is toeing the rubber for Minnesota on Wednesday, so LaRoche will head to the bench, as he typically does against southpaws. LaRoche hit just .181/.244/.361 in August, his third month of the season with an average below the Mendoza Line.

LaRoche is out of Sunday's lineup against the Mariners, Doug Padilla of ESPN Chicago reports.

LaRoche continues to sit against most southpaws, and that's the case again Sunday as the White Sox face the left-handed Edgar Olmos. Avisail Garcia will serve as the designated hitter in his place, while Trayce Thompson will enter the lineup in right field.

LaRoche went 1-for-3 with two walks, an RBI and a run scored in a 8-7 win over Seattle on Saturday.

It's hard to find a sliver-lining for LaRoche this season, so we'll say his 46 walks are above Major League average. Other than that, his .213 average and .355 slugging percentage are dreadful for a player of his potential. Outside of his rookie season and an injury-riddled 2011, this will be LaRoche's worst season in his career by far as his power and average are dropping at unruly paces. It may be a case of age or being in a new environment, but in any case, he's off-limits for fantasy this season.

LaRoche will receive his second day off in the past three days, as the White Sox will face left-hander Roenis Elias and the 35-year-old has hit just .185 thus far in August. Jose Abreu will draw the start at first base while Avasail Garcia will man the DH duties in his stead.

LaRoche owns just a .596 OPS in August, and the White Sox are taking on left-hander Wade Miley on Tuesday, so manager Robin Ventura decided to give LaRoche the night off. Jose Abreu will cover first base for the White Sox on Tuesday night.

LaRoche went 2-for-4 with a homer, two RBI and two runs scored in a losing effort Sunday against Seattle.

The multi-hit game was his second in his last three starts. LaRoche's season numbers continue to be a big disappointment (.213/.298/.357) as the end of his first season on the south side of Chicago draws near. LaRoche's strikeout rate has jumped from 18.4% last season to 28.8% in his first campaign in the American League. He's also been hitting the ball on the ground at a much higher clip, but there's been no injury-based explanation for the rapid decline from him thus far.

With lefty Vidal Nuno toeing the rubber for Seattle, LaRoche will head to the bench for the fourth time in six games as Jose Abreu takes over at first and Avisail Garcia serves as the DH. LaRoche has just a .396 OPS against southpaws this season and should continue to be heavily shielded from them the rest of the way.

LaRoche went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in the White Sox's win over the Angels on Thursdsay.

Laroche has been all sorts of awful this season, and he has been out of the White Sox's with increasing frequency of late. However, he was in there against the right-handed Nick Tropeano on Thursday, and he took reliever Cam Bedroisan deep. The home run should not change much about LaRoche's trajectory for the remainder of the season, and he should yield at-bats to younger players in September.

LaRoche sat against Hector Santiago on Tuesday, and he could continue to sit against left-handed pitchers, the Daily Herald reports.

The White Sox have not faced many southpaws lately, but LaRoche has not started against one since July 19. LaRoche's season-long struggles have continued, and he may have the best shot of recovering any semblance of success if he plays exclusively with the platoon advantage. Expect the White Sox to use the DH slot to rest other regulars, while placing LaRoche on the bench, when a lefty is on the opposing mound.

With lefty Danny Duffy on the bump for the Royals, LaRoche will take a seat as the White Sox go with a more righty-oriented lineup. Adam Eaton will occupy LaRoche's typical spot as the team's DH, while the recently recalled Trayce Thompson will make his first career start in center field.

LaRoche, who is out of Monday's lineup, will also sit out Tuesday's game as he works on his swing, CSN Chicago's Dan Hayes reports.

LaRoche has struggled mightily this year, but particularly over his last 14 games, in which he's gone an atrocious 6-for-49 (.122). Manager Robin Ventura said the veteran first baseman isn't seeing the ball well and needs to work on his swing mechanics. Those fantasy owners who haven't cut LaRoche loose can only hope that the time off helps him find something down the stretch.

Aside from Adam Eaton and LaRoche, no White Sox hitters showed up against Phil Hughes and company Wednesday, with those two representing five of the team's seven hits (and all the extra-base knocks). Unfortunately, games like this have been few and far between for LaRoche, who'd gone two weeks since his last homer and is still lingering at a .237 average. He does have six hits in 11 at-bats over the last three games, though.

LaRoche is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.

Same as Monday, the White Sox can't use a DH in a National League ballpark, and they obviously want to keep Jose Abreu in the lineup. LaRoche figures to rejoin the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Pirates in Chicago.
