LaRoche is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros, the Daryl Can Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

With Chicago facing ace lefty Dallas Keuchel, the team will deploy a lineup heavy on right-handed batters. LaRoche will be joined on the bench by Conor Gillaspie, with Geovany Soto starting at DH and Gordon Beckham at third base.

LaRoche went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the White Sox's win over the Tigers on Friday.

The home run was the 250th of LaRoche's career and sent this game into extra innings. LaRoche has been on a bit of a run lately, notching hits in 10 of his last 11 games, and he has three home runs over that stretch.

LaRoche hit a two-run homer and drew a walk in four plate appearances in the back end of Thursday's doubleheader in Baltimore.

He's officially getting hot -- 4-for-7 with three extra-base hits in the doubleheader, and 8-for-15 over his last four games. It's going to take more than four games to make up for his lackluster first two months of the season, but at least he's starting to turn the page.

LaRoche went 3-for-4 with two doubles and an RBI in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader with Baltimore.

The South Side's new first baseman has scuffled all year long, with his strikeout rate having spiked and his power and average fading, but he's found new life over the last three games, going 7-for-12 and striking out just one time. Even so, it's hard to be that optimistic about a 35-year-old who's struggled like LaRoche has, especially considering his tendency over the last several years to follow up good seasons (like 2014) with bad ones.

LaRoche is out of the lineup Sunday against the Athletics, Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Manager Robin Ventura will rest some of his left-handed hitters with southpaw Scott Kazmir on the mound, allowing Emilio Bonifacio to step in at DH in place of LaRoche. The 35-year-old is batting only .238, but has an excellent .370 on-base percentage to go along with four homers and 16 RBI.

LaRoche went 1-for-3 with a run scored and three RBI in the 7-6 win over Oakland Friday.

LaRoche has only 16 RBI on the season, but has grabbed at least one RBI in four of his last five games. He also has 11 walks this month and has posted a .512 OBP in 12 games so far this month, so clearly LaRoche is seeing the ball well right now.

LaRoche is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in Milwaukee, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

Jose Abreu served as the DH over the weekend while dealing with a foot injury, but he's apparently healthy enough to play first base. While there was some talk that Abreu might play third base in a National League park, the White Sox have instead opted to just leave LaRoche out of the lineup. The team may go with a different approach Wednesday in Milwaukee.

LaRoche should remain in the White Sox's lineup, even with the team set to play in an NL park Monday through Wednesday, due to Jose Abreu's foot injury.

LaRoche and Abreu have split first base and DH duties this season, with LaRoche typically seeing more time at DH. That would have portended a seat on the bench in the DH-less Miller Park had Abreu not fouled a ball off his foot over the weekend. LaRoche has a 34 OPS+ on the season, but he has reached base safely in nine straight games, and he has a .500 OBP for the month of May.

LaRoche (illness) is in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Tigers.

LaRoche left Sunday's game early due to an illness, but with more than 48 hours to recover, he should be fine Tuesday night. Per usual, he's batting fourth and serving as the designated hitter.

LaRoche, who is feeling a bit under the weather, was replaced by Conor Gillaspie in the fifth inning Sunday, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.

LaRoche is the latest player to fall victim to the bug that appears to be going around the Chicago clubhouse. He'll take a seat for the rest of the afternoon after going 1-for-2 at the plate with a walk and a run scored.

LaRoche batted from the cleanup spot on Sunday against the Royals and went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.

After a hot start to the year, LaRoche has cooled down of late, dropping his average to .210 and failing to drive in a run in the six games prior to Sunday. He will continue to hit fourth in the order against right-handed pitching, however, and should see his fare share of RBI opportunities moving forward.

LaRoche went 3-for-5 Saturday with his third home run of the season and four RBI.

He's enjoying life as a White Sox so far, racking up 12 RBI in his first 11 games. He should continue seeing plenty of opportunities to drive runs in batting cleanup for Chicago.

LaRoche is 1-for-11 with a double after Chicago's opening series at Kansas City.

It was a rough start for the 35-year-old and his new contract, as six of those 11 outs came by strikeout. A key for LaRoche's career year last season was an 18.4 percent strikeout rate, his lowest in 10 years. He should look better against the Twins though, as he'll be hitting against a mediocre trio of Tommy Milone, Mike Pelfrey and Phil Hughes.

LaRoche was scratched from Wednesday's spring game with an illness, Doug Padilla of ESPN Chicago reports.

LaRoche reported feeling under the weather, but it doesn't appear to be a particularly serious ailment. Consider him day-to-day as he may be held out again Thursday and possibly Friday, but he should be back on the field without missing too much time.

LaRoche has struggled at the plate recently, going 1-for-9 over the past three games since returning from a minor back issue.

LaRoche received one day off last week due to a minor back issue, and has struggled a bit since returning. It's been a struggle overall this spring as well, as the veteran is sticking at just .212/.229/.394 with one home run and nine RBI. However, he's been lauded for his play defensively, and could see a fair amount of time at first base this season.

LaRoche will receive the day off Wednesday with a minor lower-back issue, Dan Hayes of CSN Chicago reports.

The Nationals have the day off Friday, so LaRoche's potential return to the field would come Saturday. The issue appears to be minor, but should be monitored over the next few days to ensure nothing more emerges.

White Sox manager Robin Ventura said Tuesday that he sees LaRoche playing about two games a week at first base next season, ESPNChicago.com reports.

LaRoche is a former Gold Glove winner at first base and clearly has an edge over Jose Abreu, defensively, but the White Sox don't want to penalize Abreu after his AL Rookie of the Year campaign by taking away his defensive responsibilities. Thus, LaRoche will serve primarily as the DH, Ventura clarified, likely only seeing in the range of 50-60 games at first in 2015.

LaRoche signed a two-year, $25 million contract with the Whits Sox on Friday, the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

LaRoche had a decent year with the Nationals in 2014, batting .259/.362/.455 with 26 home runs and 92 RBI. He will head to one of the more hitter-friendly ballparks in baseball. He will join Jose Abreu, who will likely serve mainly as the designated hitter, in the middle of the lineup.

The Nationals declined to pick up the 2015 option on LaRoche's contract, the Washington Post reports.

With Ryan Zimmerman's shoulder issues forcing a move across the diamond, there was just no room in Washington for LaRoche as well. The first baseman will head into free agency sporting a .259/.362/.455 slash line in 140 games (the OBP is a career high) with 26 home runs and 92 RBI. LeRoche turns 35 in November, and likely won't be able to secure a lengthy deal, but his steady stick combined with his excellent defensive reputation should attraction some attention on the market.

LaRoche is not in the lineup for the second game of a doubleheader against the Mets on Friday.

LaRoche started the first game of Thursday's doubleheader as well, but didn't play the second game much like Friday. Tyler Moore will get the call in his place and bats fifth for the Nationals.
