Tue Jun 7 202214:24Jeimer Candelario To IL, Austin Meadows Activated
The Detroit Tigers placed infielder Jeimer Candelario (shoulder) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday with a left shoulder subluxation and reinstated outfielder Austin Meadows (illness) from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Candelario's placement on the IL is retroactive to June 6. Meadows has been out due to symptoms of vertigo, and he went 2-for-13 with a home run on a four-game rehab assignment at Triple-A Toledo. He should return to an everyday starting role in Detroit's outfield. Candelario left the game early on Sunday. The 28-year-old hasn't done much for fantasy managers at the plate this year, slashing .181/.236/.319 with five home runs, 17 RBI and 20 runs scored in 182 at-bats.

Sun Jun 5 202213:06Jeimer Candelario Exits Early On Sunday
Detroit Tigers third baseman Jeimer Candelario (shoulder) left Sunday's contest against the Yankees early after sustaining a left shoulder injury. Josh Donaldson smoked a line drive in the second inning towards Candelario, who tried to make a diving grab, and ended up injuring himself on the play. He was removed from the game shortly thereafter and replaced by Harold Castro. The Tigers should provide an update on Candelario's status following the game but fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now.

Wed May 18 202213:27Jeimer Candelario Homers Tuesday
Detroit Tigers third baseman Jeimer Candelario went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-1 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays, accounting for the only blemish on Shane McClanahan's line for the evening. Candelario is now slashing .203/.255/.336 with three home runs, 14 runs scored, and 12 RBI for the season. It's been a disappointing start to the year for the slugger, though his .237 BABIP sits well below his career mark of .303, so things should turn around to a certain extent, but fantasy managers who thought Candelario was due to exceed his career-high of 19 home runs may be ready to move on.

Fri Oct 1 202118:12Jeimer Candelario On The Bench Friday
Detroit Tigers third baseman Jeimer Candelario isn't in the lineup on Friday for a matchup with the Chicago White Sox and right-handed starter Lance Lynn. The 27-year-old is hitting .271 with a .352 on-base percentage and 16 home runs in 622 plate appearances this season. Instead, it'll be Harold Castro getting the start at third base and batting fifth against the White Sox. Castro is hitting .287 with a .317 on-base percentage and three home runs in 326 plate appearances this season. You're probably better off looking elsewhere for streaming help.

Mon Sep 20 202118:23Jeimer Candelario Not Starting On Monday
Detroit Tigers third baseman Jeimer Candelario isn't in the lineup on Monday for a matchup with the Chicago White Sox and left-handed starter Carlos Rodon. The third baseman has arguably been Detroit's best hitter this season. In 588 plate appearances this season, Candelario is batting .273 with a .349 on-base percentage and 16 home runs. It'll be Isaac Paredes starting at third base and batting eighth against the White Sox on Monday. Paredes is hitting .256 with a .340 on-base percentage and a home run in 47 plate appearances for the Tigers this season. He could be worth a look as a streaming option for fantasy managers in deeper leagues.

Sun Sep 19 202108:08Jeimer Candelario Hits Three-Run Homer On Saturday
Detroit Tigers third baseman Jeimer Candelario had the biggest hit in the game in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. He went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and a walk. He has now homered in two of his last three games and he has six home runs so far in September. The 27-year-old has done some good contact hitting this year with a .273 average over 139 games. However, he only had 10 home runs on the year before the calendar turned to September. He could be a much more valuable fantasy asset if he provided more consistent power to go along with his solid batting average. He's worth a look for fantasy managers in need of a reliable hitter down the stretch.

Fri Sep 17 202107:05Jeimer Candelario Hits A Solo Home Run In Loss To Rays
Detroit Tigers third baseman Jeimer Candelario went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in the team's 5-2 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays on Thursday. The home run was his 15th of the year and his fifth already this month. The 27-year-old has been swinging a hot bat so far in September. He had his first two-homer game of the year last Sunday and he's slashing .283/.345/.679 overall this month. Over 137 games on the year, he has a .273/.349/.450 slash line with 62 RBI and 71 runs to go along with his 15 home runs. He has limited upside for fantasy purposes, but he can help out fantasy managers in deep leagues and AL-only leagues who need a boost in batting average.

Sat Sep 4 202116:00Jeimer Candelario Has Four Hits Friday
Detroit Tigers third baseman Jeimer Candelario had another productive game on Friday, collecting four hits in five plate appearances in Detroit's 15-5 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Candelario finished a triple short of the cycle, hitting a home run, a pair of doubles, and an infield single. He also drove in a pair of runs, reached base on an error, and scored four runs. The third baseman has enjoyed a strong second half for the Tigers, hitting .310 with a .372 on-base percentage and seven home runs in 188 plate appearances. Consider adding him to your roster if you play in a deeper league where on-base percentage is part of the scoring.

Fri Sep 3 202108:25Jeimer Candelario Goes Yard For His 11th Home Run
Detroit Tigers third baseman Jeimer Candelario went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run in the team's 8-6 loss to the Oakland Athletics on Thursday. The home run was his 11th of the year. Over 125 games this season, Candelario is slashing .274/.351/.431 with 51 RBI and 62 runs to go along with his 11 homers. The 27-year-old doesn't offer a ton of power and isn't much of a high-upside play in any regard. However, he does have some value in deep leagues and AL-only leagues. His .271 xBA ranks in the 79th percentile and he should continue to contribute a solid batting average most weeks while adding some decent runs and RBI totals.

Fri Aug 20 202107:27Jeimer Candelario Goes 3-For-5 In Loss To Angels
Detroit Tigers third baseman Jeimer Candelario had a big day at the plate in the team's 13-10 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday. He went 3-for-5 with a home run, two RBI and three runs. The home run was his 10th of the year. Candelario has been swinging a hot bat in August. Over 16 games this month, he is slashing .300/.364/.583 with three home runs, 11 RBI and 12 runs. The power numbers have been nice to see this month as he had only hit seven total home runs over the first four months of the season. Candelario is a serviceable, albeit unspectacular, fantasy option for anyone in need of depth at a corner infield spot.

Sun Aug 15 202112:13Jeimer Candelario Hits His Ninth Home Run In Saturday's Win
Detroit Tigers third baseman Jeimer Candelario helped the team defeat the Cleveland Indians 6-4 on Saturday. Candelario went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs and two RBI in the game. Candelario has had a fantastic month of August so far. Over 12 games this month, he's slashing .341/.420/.659with two home runs, six doubles, nine RBI and nine runs. He's currently riding a 10-game hitting streak. Candelario has been a bit streaky this year and his power upside is a bit limited as he has just nine home runs over 109 games on the year. However, he can help fantasy managers in batting average, RBI and runs while he continues to hit well.

Wed Aug 11 202107:03Jeimer Candelario Hits His Eighth Home Run On Tuesday
Detroit Tigers third baseman Jeimer Candelario helped lead the team to a 9-4 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday. He went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in the game. The home run was his eighth of the year and his first since July 24. Candelario has been solid at the plate so far this month. Over eight games in August, he is slashing .310/.394/.552 with six RBI and five runs. He's currently riding a six-game hitting streak and he's reached base in 14 straight games. Candelario can offer fantasy managers some help in batting average, but his power bat comes and goes. He's worth a roster spot in AL-only leagues and deep leagues for anyone in need of corner infield depth.

Thu Jul 29 202108:26Jeimer Candelario Doubles Twice, Drives In Three On Wednesday
Detroit Tigers third baseman Jeimer Candelario helped lead the team to a 17-14 victory over the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday. He went 2-for-5 with a walk, two doubles, two runs and three RBI. Candelario has now recorded hits in 10 of his last 11 games. Over 94 games on the year, he's slashing .268/.354/.402 with seven home runs, 26 doubles, 34 RBI and 45 runs. He's someone who should be your radar if you play in an AL-only league or a deep league, but he's not a must-roster player in any format as he offers little power and doesn't particularly excel in any one stat.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — Aaron Judge went from being a late scratch to hitting a tiebreaking single in a two-run 10th inning to help the New York Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Rays for the second straight day, 3-1 on Wednesday night. Judge was taken out of the lineup about 30 minutes before the scheduled first pitch. Although no announcement was made about why, the All-Star right fielder struck out in the fifth pinch-hitting for Estevan Florial. Judge returned to the team Tuesday after going on the COVID-19 injured list July 16. New York also had a big night off the field. The Yankees reached a deal to get All-Star slugger Joey Gallo from the Texas Rangers, a person familiar with the trade told The Associated Press. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the move had not yet been announced and was subject to approval of medical records of the players involved.
