The Pirates are optimistic Snider (hamstring) will be able to return to the lineup over the weekend against the Cubs, Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
Snider will sit for the sixth straight game Wednesday while he continues to be slowed by the hamstring issue. He was able to log a pinch-hit appearance on Monday and looks to be progressing positively, but it's not certain whether or not he'll be able to reclaim a permanent spot in the lineup once healthy. The recent call-ups of Andrew Lambo and Gregory Polanco have given the Pirates some other options in right field, which could result in something of a three-headed timeshare at the position.

Snider (hamstring) is out of the lineup Tuesday against the Cardinals, Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
Snider returned to his first game action in over a week when he pinch hit Monday. He has not returned to the lineup yet, however, as Andrew Lambo will start in right field again and bat second for the Pirates.

There's a decent chance he returns to the lineup Tuesday. Snider has singled in three at-bats against starter Adam Wainwright.

Snider (hamstring) remains out of the lineup Monday against the Cardinals.
Although Snider successfully completed his workouts over the weekend, the team hasn't given any indication as to when he may return to the lineup. He may very well remain limited through the entirety of the Cardinals series, as the Pirates can afford to take it slow following roster expansion.

Snider (hamstring) successfully completed his workouts over the weekend, though the team hasn't stated when he might return, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
The Pirates are relying on Snider for guidance as the outfielder has dealt with hamstring discomfort in the past. Barring setback, it sounds as though he could return as a pinch-hitter sometime in the next several days.
Sun Aug 31 201411:15Snider (hamstring) out of lineup again Sunday against Reds
Snider (hamstring) is out of the lineup again Sunday against the Reds.
Snider left Wednesday's game with a left hamstring injury, and hasn't returned to the lineup since the injury. The lefty had recently cooled off from a hot streak before the injury, so it's possible when he does return, that he will no longer be an everyday outfielder. Andrew Lambo will start in right field Sunday and bat second for the Pirates.
Sat Aug 30 201414:00Snider (hamstring) remains out of lineup Saturday against Reds
Snider (hamstring) remains out of the lineup Saturday against the Reds, Rob Biertempfel of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
A left hamstring concern resulted in Snider's early exit from Wednesday's game, and while the team has yet to elaborate on the full extent of the issue, the 26-year-old will miss a second straight start Saturday. Andrew Lambo will man right field and bat second against right-hander Alfredo Simon, while Snider remains day-to-day ahead of Sunday's series finale.

Snider (hamstring) is out of the lineup Friday against the Reds.
Snider left Wednesday's game with the injury and missed Thursday as well. The team recently demoted Gregory Polanco and promoted Jose Tabata, who will start in right field Friday and bat second for the Pirates.
Wed Aug 27 201414:35Snider left Wednesday's game with left hamstring discomfort
Snider left Wednesday's game with left hamstring discomfort.
Snider reached base on a bunt single in the bottom of the third inning, but appeared to tweak his hamstring while doing so. He was lifted for pinch-runner Jose Tabata and will undergo treatment on the injury. The Pirates are expected to update Snider's status after reevaluating his condition Thursday.

Snider will bat second and play right field Friday night against the Brewers.
The outfielder is batting .459 (17-for-37) with three homers and seven RBI in his last 10 games. Snider is now even playing ahead of Gregory Polanco in right field, though that will likely change whenever he cools off. The former Blue Jay is also playing well in the field, making it difficult for manager Clint Hurdle to even consider sitting him right now.
Thu Aug 21 201400:21Snider 2-3 with run scored Wednesday against Braves
Snider went 2-for-3 with a run scored Wednesday against the Braves.
With Andrew McCutchen's return from the disabled list Tuesday, Snider will almost certainly lose playing time in the coming weeks. He continues to swing a very hot bat, however, which will likely lead manager Clint Hurdle to find ways to keep him in the mix for the near term.

Snider may find his playing time cut into with the anticipated return of Andrew McCutchen on Tuesday.
Snider went 2-for-4 with a double Monday and is batting .350/.409/.638 with six homers and 18 RBI in 88 plate appearances since July 12. With Starling Marte and Gregory Polanco entrenched in the corner outfield spots, that leaves Snider on the outside looking in. Snider, like Pedro Alvarez, practiced at first base recently, but it's unlikely the Bucs try another untested player at first in the midst of a pennant race. Snider owners may have to wait for another injury before he receives steady playing time again.

Snider went 2-for-4 with a couple of singles in Sunday's 6-5 loss to the Nationals.
Snider finished up a red hot week at the plate by extending his current hitting streak to eight games. Over this stretch, the 26-year-old outfielder is batting an even .400 (12-for-30) with three homers, three doubles and seven RBI. Snider should continue to see regular playing time as long as Andrew McCutchen (ribs) remains out.
Thu Aug 14 201410:00Snider 1-3 with 10th homer of year against Tigers on Wednesday
Snider went 1-for-3 with his 10th homer of the year against the Tigers on Wednesday.
He has six hits in his last 12 at-bats, including five extra-base hits (two doubles, three homers) and seven RBI. Snider will continue to see steady playing time with Andrew McCutchen (rib) on the DL. McCutchen is eligible to come back Aug. 19, but could be out longer.

Snider went 3-for-5 with two home runs, four RBI, three runs scored and one double Monday against the Tigers.
Snider exploded Monday as the Pirates scored 11 runs as a team. Although this was impressive, he is only hitting .251 with nine home runs and 29 RBI this season.

Snider's pinch-hit single Thursday gave him two hits in his last 18 at-bats as his recent hot bat has cooled in August.
He's 2-for-6 against Friday starter Ian Kennedy and could be back in the starting lineup. Interestingly, the outfielder was spotted taking ground balls at first base during practice prior to Thursday's game.
Thu Aug 7 201414:52Snider out of lineup Thursday against Marlins
Snider is out of the lineup Thursday against the Marlins.
Snider will take a seat Wednesday with the left-handed Brian Flynn on the mound for the Marlins. Josh Harrison will move into left field in his place, with Jayson Nix starting at third and Michael Martinez at second.

Snider is batting .343/.410/.629 in his 39 plate appearances and should see additional playing time while Andrew McCutchen (left oblique) is out of the lineup.
He cooled off over the weekend with just one hit in 12 at-bats, but the opportunity will be there for the lefty with Cutch sidelined. Snider holds a .313/.415/.413 slash line in 80 at-bats at PNC Park in 2014, where the Pirates begin an eight-game homestand Tuesday.

Snider is back on the bench Thursday, even though the Diamondbacks are starting the right-handed Josh Collmenter.
Snider committed a baserunning gaffe of epic proportions Wednesday and is likely paying the price for his brain-dead move. It was thought that he could lose playing time with an active Pirates team at the deadline, but the non-waiver deadline passed Thursday without the Bucs making any changes to their major-league roster.

Snider, who homered in his third straight game Tuesday, will start in right field Wednesday afternoon and bat sixth against starter Tim Lincecum.
Snider is one of Pittsburgh's hottest hitters right now. He's 1-for-5 with two RBI and a walk against Lincecum in his career. The Pirates have stuck by the sometimes-beleaguered outfielder and their patience has been rewarded in recent weeks.
