Texas Rangers infielder Andy Ibanez (hamstring) made his first appearance since going down a few weeks ago. He didn't miss a beat and was hot at the plate during Tuesday's game against the New York Yankees. Ibanez went 3-for-4 with a double in what ended up being a 7-1 loss. It wasn't a good day for the Rangers batters as Ibanez was the only hitter in the lineup to get multiple hits. The Rangers are likely going to continue starting Ibanez throughout the rest of the season, but his fantasy value is minimal.

Texas Rangers starting pitcher Dane Dunning got the start on Tuesday, but wasn't out there on the mound for too long. He went 2 2/3 innings, three hits allowed, two earned runs, one walk, and three strikeouts in the 7-1 loss to the New York Yankees. Left-hander Kolby Allard took over for him and looked worse in this one. Dunning will carry a 4.34 ERA and 1.43 WHIP into his next matchup versus the Baltimore Orioles. It's a favorable matchup for Dunning, but he's not a reliable option.

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel recorded a no-decision on Tuesday versus the Detroit Tigers. The veteran went five innings and allowed 11 hits, two runs, one walk and struck out two on the evening. The lefty has had a very rough year on the mound and is 8-9 with an ugly 5.18 ERA in 30 starts. Keuchel can be avoided in all formats and is scheduled to face the Cleveland Indians on Sunday.

Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Lourdes Gurriel Jr. hit a home run in his second straight game on Tuesday as his club went on to beat the Rays by a score of 4-2. His solo shot off Drew Rasmussen in the fifth inning broke a 1-1 tie at the time for his second hit of the ball game, and he finished the night going 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored. The 27-year-old has quietly put together a solid fantasy season with 21 home runs, 61 runs, 83 RBI and a .285 average in 135 games this season despite getting the majority of his at-bats in the bottom-third of the Jays order. Although Gurriel may be a bit boring, he remains a sturdy fantasy asset in deep leagues.

Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Alek Manoah improved his record to 7-2 on the season on Tuesday as his club defeated the Rays 4-2. The right-hander was a bit wild in this one by walking six batters and beaning another, but he managed to give up just two runs on five hits over his six frames of work. Manoah punched out seven on the night to give him 109 K in 99 IP this season to go along with a sharp 3.36 ERA and 1.08 in his first 18 big-league starts. He'll have a chance to improve upon his excellent rookie campaign in his next outing this weekend versus the Twins.

Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Daniel Lynch suffered his sixth loss of the year as the team fell 4-1 to the Cleveland Indians on Tuesday. He pitched six innings and allowed four hits, three walks and four earned runs while striking out five. The majority of the damage came in the first inning when Lynch gave up a three-run triple to Indians shortstop Yu Chang. Over 14 starts on the year, the rookie left-hander has gone 4-6 with a 5.40 ERA and a 1.57 WHIP. He should make two more starts on the year as he's lined up to face the Indians again next Tuesday and then the Minnesota Twins in the team's season finale.

Oakland Athletics right-hander James Kaprielian looks to be the odd man out of the rotation after Chris Bassitt (head) returns from the injured list on Thursday, according to manager Bob Melvin. It's not set in stone yet, and it depends on how Bassitt looks once he's back on the mound. Kaprielian is having a solid first full season in the majors, posting an 8-5 record and 3.80 ERA over 21 starts and 111.1 innings. The peripherals don't look as nice, though, as he's struck out 24.2% of the batters he's faced along with an 8.6 BB% and 17 HRs allowed. Still, he's been a good starter in many leagues, and this isn't the news that fantasy managers wanted to hear.

The San Diego Padres have designated Jake Arrieta for assignment on Tuesday, all but ending his brief tenure with the club. Arrieta signed with the Padres on August 16 after the Chicago Cubs let him go earlier in the year. In 24 starts this season, he owns a 7.39 ERA with an ugly 17.7 K% and 1.77 WHIP. He's been even worse on the west coast, pitching to a 10.95 ERA across four appearances. If he gets another chance with a team and makes the big league club, there's no reason for fantasy managers to pay any attention to the right-hander. In a corresponding move, the Padres activated pitcher Javy Guerra from the 60-day injured list.

Miami Marlins starting pitcher Pablo Lopez (shoulder) threw a 21-pitch bullpen session on Wednesday, according to Christina De Nicola of MLB.com. It was his second bullpen session and came a few days after he threw to live hitters. Lopez was placed on the injured list on July 17 with a right rotator cuff strain and previously made one rehab start. However, the Marlins are being extra careful with the 25-year-old after multiple shoulder injuries in the past. Before being sidelined, he was having a great season, posting a 3.03 ERA and 27.1 strikeout percentage. If he comes back before the season is over, he'll likely be limited in his action, which caps his fantasy value.

Los Angeles Dodgers middle infielder Trea Turner was on a seven-game hitting streak going into Tuesday's game against the Colorado Rockies. He recorded four walks and five runs scored over the seven-game stretch. Turner has been with the Dodgers for nearly two months now. Over 40 games with the team, he's slashing .302/.351/.459. During his 96 games with the Nationals this year, he maintained a superior .322/.369/.521 slash line. Turner is scoring runs at a much higher rate with the Dodgers as he has 27 runs over 40 games, compared to 66 runs over 96 games with the Nationals, but he may still be getting adjusted to his new surroundings a bit.

New York Mets starting pitcher Noah Syndergaard (elbow) is starting a rehab assignment with Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday, according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network. He's missed the past two seasons after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He was in line to return earlier in the year but faced multiple setbacks in his recovery. It's probably too late in the season to stretch him out as a starter, so expect to see Syndergaard in the Mets bullpen. During his last season in 2019, Syndergaard posted a 4.28 ERA, 24.5 K% and 1.23 WHIP. There's no way to know how he'll will perform when he returns, but he's safe to leave on the wire as a reliever.

The Boston Red Sox called up relief pitcher Ryan Brasier from Triple-A prior to Tuesday's game against the New York Mets. The team sent fellow reliever Garrett Whitlock (pectoral) to the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Brasier has made just five appearances for the Red Sox this year and he has a 4.15 ERA and a 2.54 WHIP. Whitlock was one of the team's top setup men. Brasier likely won't see high-leverage work going forward. Hansel Robles, Josh Taylor and Garrett Richards figure to be the team's primary high-leverage arms in front of the team's primary closer Adam Ottavino.

San Francisco Giants left-hander Scott Kazmir will start Wednesday's game against the San Diego Padres, according to Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle. The Giants have been rolling with a four-man rotation lately but will recall Kazmir, who's been pitching in Triple-A. It's his first season in the bigs since 2016, and he made two starts earlier in the year, most recently on June 4. He's posted a 6.43 ERA, 24.1 K%, and 3.4 BB%. Both of his starts were less than five innings, and it'll probably be more of the same Wednesday. Fantasy managers can feel comfortable leaving Kazmir on the waiver wire.

Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Tyrone Taylor (oblique) was activated from the injured list prior to Tuesday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals. He is slotted into the No. 8 spot in the team's batting order for the game. To clear roster space for Taylor, relief pitcher Miguel Sanchez was sent to Triple-A. Taylor missed about a month due to a right oblique strain. Over 82 games on the year, he's slashing .245/.324/.453 with 10 home runs, five stolen bases, 37 RBI and 30 runs. He will likely be in a bit of a platoon situation in the Brewers outfield, splitting playing time with Jackie Bradley Jr. and Jace Peterson.

The Chicago Cubs placed first baseman/outfielder Alfonso Rivas (finger) on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. Outfielder Nick Martini was called up from Triple-A in a corresponding move. Rivas is dealing with a right middle finger injury. He'll have a chance to return during the team's penultimate series of the year if he only requires the minimum amount of days on the injured list. The 25-year-old rookie had been performing well at the plate in September. He had a .324/.405/.405 slash line over 37 at-bats this month. He was seeing semi-regular playing time while also being utilized as a pinch-hitter.

Chicago White Sox outfielder Adam Engel (shoulder) was activated from the injured list prior to Tuesday's game against the Detroit Tigers. He started in right field and batted eighth in the game, going 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Engel was sidelined for about a month due to left shoulder inflammation. He also missed about two months earlier this year with a hamstring injury. He's played in a total of 34 games for the White Sox this year and he's tallied seven home runs, seven stolen bases, 18 RBI and 20 runs while slashing .248/.336/.505.

The Texas Rangers designated starting pitcher Kohei Arihara for assignment on Sunday. He cleared waivers and he has now been outrighted to Triple-A Round Rock. The 29-year-old struggled in his first taste of the MLB this year, going 2-4 with a 6.64 ERA and a 1.43 WHIP over 10 starts. In his most recent start against the Houston Astros on September 15, he allowed eight hits and six earned runs over four innings. Arihara will remain in the Rangers organization for now and attempt to work his way back up to the big leagues.

San Diego Padres outfielder Wil Myers is not part of the starting lineup on Tuesday as the team prepares to face Kevin Gausman and the San Francisco Giants. The Padres are going with Tommy Pham, Jurickson Profar and Trent Grisham in the outfield for the game. Myers has been left out of the starting lineup a decent amount lately. The Padres have a clogged outfield right now and Myers isn't doing himself any favors by slashing .217/.288/.457 so far in September. Myers and Profar are basically in a 50/50 platoon for the moment, but Profar is also struggling with a .158/.200/.289 slash line in September.

Milwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Brett Anderson (shoulder) will be activated from the injured list and he will start Wednesday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. The left-hander has been sidelined since the start of the month after getting hit in his pitching shoulder by a comebacker. He is expected to be on a bit of a pitch count in his return. Anderson has a 4.18 ERA and a 1.34 WHIP over 88.1 innings on the year. He's not someone worth rostering in fantasy leagues.

Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Josh Rojas is absent from the starting lineup for Tuesday's game as the team is hosting Jesse Chavez and the Atlanta Braves. Daulton Varsho is leading off in the game while Ildemaro Vargas is getting the start at shortstop. Rojas has been providing a decent spark at the top of the Diamondbacks lineup lately. He's slashing .254/.308/.305 with two stolen bases and 10 runs scored so far in September. He has 11 home runs, nine stolen bases and a .766 OPS over 130 games on the year.
