Fri Jul 29 202218:24Tylor Megill To Pitch Out Of Bullpen
New York Mets right-handed pitcher Tylor Megill (shoulder) is likely to assume a bullpen role when he returns to the team. Megill has been dealing with a right shoulder strain that put him on the shelf back on June 17, and he hasn't yet started a rehab assignment. He isn't eligible to return until mid-August, but he likely won't be ready to return by then. With the Mets injury prone rotation, there is always the chance that Megill could see some starts in September, but this news certainly hurts his value for fantasy owners. He can be dropped in any league where IL spots are limited.

Fri Jun 17 202216:35Tylor Megill Goes On Injured List
New York Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill (shoulder) was placed on the injured list on Friday with a right shoulder strain. The plan is to shut him down for four weeks before he's re-evaluated. Megill had to leave his start early on Thursday against the Milwaukee Brewers after just 3 1/3 innings because of his shoulder, and now he'll be out for over a month. The good news for the Mets is that Max Scherzer (oblique) is nearing a return to the rotation, but losing Megill is a big blow after he recently had returned to the rotation. Fantasy managers should expect him to be out until at least August. The 26-year-old right-hander currently has a 5.01 ERA (3.62 FIP), 1.21 WHIP, 47 strikeouts and 11 walks in 41 1/3 innings over his nine starts.

Tue Jun 7 202222:18Tylor Megill Will Return Friday Or Saturday Vs. Angels
According to New York Mets manager Buck Showalter, pitcher Tylor Megill (biceps) could start Friday or Saturday against the Los Angeles Angels. He is expected to be reinstated from the injured list to pitch one of the two games. The 26-year-old returned to the Mets clubhouse and said his arm felt great. He threw 3 2/3 innings during a rehab start with Double-A Binghamton. The Mets right-hander has been sidelined since May 11 with biceps tendinitis. Megill owns a 4.41 ERA, 1.13 ERA, and a 37:9 K: BB across 34 2/3 innings in 2022. Fantasy managers might want to see how Megill pitches in his first start back before using him in their lineups once activated.

Mon Jun 6 202219:40Tylor Megill Could Start Saturday
New York Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill (biceps) is on a flight to join the team in San Diego on Monday and is expected to be activated from the injured list for this weekend's series against the Los Angeles Angels. Megill will potentially start on Saturday against the Angels. The 26-year-old right-hander has been out almost a month with biceps tendonitis, but he struck out five hitters in 3 2/3 innings during a minor league rehab start on Sunday for Double-A Binghamton and is nearing a return to the Mets rotation. The Angels are slumping badly right now as an offense, but Megill will still be a pretty risky fantasy play in his first start back this weekend. Before his injury, he had a 4.41 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 37 strikeouts and nine walks in 34 2/3 innings in seven starts in his second MLB season.

Fri Jun 3 202220:04Tylor Megill To Make Rehab Start Sunday
New York Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill (biceps) will make a minor league rehab start for Double-A Binghamton on Sunday. The 26-year-old might only need a couple of rehab starts before he's activated to rejoin the starting rotation, barring any setbacks. Megill will slide right back into the Mets rotation when he's ready with Max Scherzer still on the injured list and Jacob deGrom yet to make his 2022 season debut. In seven starts in his second MLB season, Megill has a 4.41 ERA and a 1.12 WHIP with 37 strikeouts and nine walks allowed in 34 2/3 innings pitched.

Mon May 30 202218:25Tylor Megill Hoping To Throw Live BP Tuesday
New York Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill (biceps) said that he's hoping to throw live batting practice on Tuesday. Megill was put on the injured list on May 15 with right biceps tendonitis. The 26-year-old right-hander should go on a minor league rehab assignment shortly after he resumes facing live hitters. Before his injury, he had made seven starts for the Mets and had allowed 17 earned runs on 30 hits while walking nine and striking out 37 in 34 2/3 innings pitched. Given the injured state of New York's starting rotation at the moment, Megill will be assured of a rotation spot when he's ready to return from the injured list.

We still don't have a very specific timeline for his return, but things should become more clear in the coming week or so. The 26-year-old has gone 4-2 with a 4.41 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP this season.

Sun May 15 202216:08Tylor Megill's MRI Reveals No Structural Damage
The New York Mets received the results of the MRI on starting pitcher Tylor Megill (biceps) on Sunday. The MRI showed no structure damage and he has been diagnosed with right biceps tendinitis. According to Mets beat writer Anthony DiComo, the team plans to keep Megill from throwing for a few days, allowing the inflammation to settle. After that, the team will reassess. Megill was placed on the 15-day injured list on Sunday, so he will at least be out of the rotation for the next three turns. We should have a more clear idea of his timeline sometime this next week.

Sun May 15 202212:54Tylor Megill Placed On Injured List With Lat Inflammation
The New York Mets placed starting pitcher Tylor Megill (lat) on the 15-day injured list with right lat inflammation on Sunday. The results of the MRI will help indicate how long he is expected to be out for. The 26-year-old was off to a nice start to the year before being shelled by the Washington Nationals this past Wednesday. Over seven starts, he's gone 4-2 with a 4.41 ERA and a 1.13 WHIP. Sat Apr 30 202213:44Tylor Megill, Relievers Combine For No-Hitter On Friday
New York Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill recorded the win during Friday's victory over the Phillies. The righty was on the bump for five innings (88 pitches), compiling five strikeouts while walking three batters. However, the biggest storyline of the night resulted from Megill, along with relievers Drew Smith, Joely Rodriguez, Seth Lugo, and Edwin Diaz, collectively throwing a no-hitter, the 17th combined feat in MLB history. Nonetheless, New York kept it rolling by easily taking care of Philadelphia to remain one of the most potent teams in baseball. Megill also picked up his fourth win, already tying his mark from last season, and is now sitting on a 1.93 ERA to go along with 27 strikeouts. The 26-year-old continues to exceed expectations, so fantasy managers should keep him going when he's back on the hill again.

Fri Apr 8 202200:22Tylor Megill Victorious On Opening Day
New York Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill earned his first victory of the season in the club's 5-1 Opening Day win over the Nationals. The 26-year-old tossed five-shutout innings while allowing three hits and no walks while striking out six in the 68-pitch performance. He only ran into trouble in the third inning by putting runners on the corners with one out, but he was able to strike out Juan Soto and get Nelson Cruz to groundout to end the inning. Megill showed us some promise through his first 18 starts in the majors a year ago, and he has now undoubtedly put his name on the radar for managers in 12-team formats. The right-hander will face a tougher test in his next outing versus the Phillies, but he's a name to at least keep on your watchlist.

Wed Apr 6 202218:33Tylor Megill Officially Named Opening Day Starter
The New York Mets have officially named Tylor Megill the team's Opening Day starting pitcher. He will take the mound on Thursday against the Washington Nationals. He'll be followed by Max Scherzer (hamstring) on Friday, then Chris Bassitt on Saturday. Megill had his first exposure to the majors last year. He made 18 starts and went 4-6 with a 4.52 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP. He had some concerning underlying stats last year, including a 10% barrel rate that ranked in the bottom 14% of the league and a 25% chase rate that ranked in the bottom 18% of the league. Luckily, he has a relatively favorable matchup against the Nationals to kick off the 2022 campaign. We'll see if he can get the injury-riddled Mets off to a good start to the year.

Wed Apr 6 202211:30Tylor Megill Likely To Start Opening Day
New York Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill is expected to start on Opening Day versus the Washington Nationals. Max Scherzer (hamstring) is likely to start on Friday, while Chris Bassitt gets the nod on Saturday. However, there's a chance that Thursday's contest does get rained out. The 26-year-old was average with the Mets last season. He posted a 4.52 ERA with 99 strikeouts and 27 walks through 18 starts. Hopefully, Megill improves in 2022, but he'll likely end up as a back end starter.

New York Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill allowed just one hit and one walk in five shutout innings in his final start of 2021 against the Atlanta Braves Friday. He struck out six batters and earned his fourth win of the season. Megill finishes the year with a 4.52 ERA and 1.28 WHIP with 99 strikeouts in 89 2/3 innings. He burst onto the scene this year, raising his profile and fantasy relevance significantly. He'll enter 2022 as a streaming option if, as appears likely, he makes the Mets rotation out of spring training.

Sat Sep 25 202110:13Tylor Megill Victimized By Long Ball On Friday
New York Mets starting pitcher Tylor Megill went only four innings on Friday against the Milwaukee Brewers, allowing four earned runs on five hits, including three home runs and four walks in the Mets 5-1 loss. Megill struck out only two batters en route to his sixth loss of the season, dropping his record to 3-6. After a superb July in which Megill posted a 1.04 ERA and 1.04 WHIP over five starts and 26 innings pitched, he has struggled in August and September despite sprinkling in a few quality starts over those two months. In September, Megill now owns a 1-3 record with a bloated 7.20 ERA, 1.65 WHIP and 23 strikeouts over 20 innings in four starts. Megill's recent struggles could be attributed to fatigue, given the fact that he has now thrown 125 innings on the season between the majors and minors. His previous high was 71 2/3 innings in 2019 in the minors. Nonetheless, Megill showed his potential back in July and makes for a solid later-round selection in redraft formats heading into 2022. Fantasy managers in dynasty formats should hang on to Megill given his high strikeout potential (93 strikeouts in 84 2/3 IP) and his strong, consistent performance earlier this summer.
