Mon Mar 31 201423:52Bynum goes for 12 and eight in win
Will Bynum scored 12 points on 3-of-6 shooting (6-of-6 FTs) with two rebounds, eight assists and one steal in 23 minutes off the bench on Monday.
This is Bynum's ceiling right now and that gives him just deep league appeal at best.

Sat Mar 29 201421:52Will Bynum squanders chance vs. Sixers
Will Bynum played 29 minutes vs. the Sixers on Saturday with five points, two boards, two assists and five turnovers on 2-of-11 shooting.
He played a little more tonight with Brandon Jennings being ejected in the first quarter. Bynum has played fairly well when given minutes, but stinking it up against one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA is a tough pill to swallow. Jennings won't be suspended, so there's no reason to add Bynum here.

Tue Mar 25 201401:36Bynum sputters in win over Jazz
Will Bynum scored two points on 1-of-3 shooting with two rebounds and nine assists in 17 minutes off the bench on Monday.
While the assists are nice the zeroes in defensive stat categories are a killer and he didn't hit a three, either. That's the risk in using a bench guy with little history of sustained production while he's hot, but it won't be surprising if he throws up another points and assists line the next time out. Rodney Stuckey scored 19 points with one three and that's just about it to keep his deep league credentials somewhat strong.

Sun Mar 23 201401:15Will Bynum hands out 10 assists in loss
Will Bynum had six points, 10 assists, two steals and a 3-pointer in 24 minutes off the bench on Saturday.
Unlike Friday, Brandon Jennings played reasonably well in this one, yet Bynum was still effective. He's had seven or more assists in four of his last five games and is worth a deep-league look with four games next week.

Thu Mar 20 201401:29Will Bynum double-doubles in loss
Will Bynum came off the bench for 12 points, 10 assists and a 3-pointer on 4-of-8 shooting in Wednesday's loss in Denver.
Starter Brandon Jennings was once again mediocre (3-of-8, 7 points, 5 assists) and Bynum stepped up off the bench. This shouldn't come as too big a surprise, as Bynum has been playing well for some time now, and is averaging 10.8 points and 5.4 assists over his last five games.

Wed Mar 12 201423:20Bynum goes for 12 and seven off the bench
Will Bynum scored 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting (including two threes) with one rebound and seven assists in 22 minutes off the bench on Wednesday.
Bynum may look like a deep league value but he has hit just 39.1 percent of his shots over the last four games while turning the ball over nearly three times per contest. His 13.8 points and 4.8 assists over that span don't do nearly enough to offset that and he's still waiver wire fodder.

Tue Mar 11 201422:52Will Bynum quiet despite 14 shots
Will Bynum came off the bench to hit 4-of-14 shots for eight points and seven assists in 22 minutes.
Brandon Jennings was really struggling tonight (1-of-10 shooting), so we were hoping for a little more from Bynum. He was still effective with 8 & 7, and is averaging 12.6 points, 3.4 assists and 1.0 steals on 35 percent shooting over his last five games.

Sun Mar 9 201421:19Will Bynum makes 10-of-12 FTs, scores 18 pts
Will Bynum provided instant offense in 22 minutes on Sunday, scoring 18 points on 4-of-9 field goals and a game-high 10-of-12 free throws.
Detroit's energetic backup has now scored double-digit points in five of the past six games, though his limited playing time (19 minutes in March) makes him a hit-or-miss option in most leagues. The Pistons are within three games of the East's final playoff spot despite Sunday's loss, so Bynum should continue to get his chances as the regular season winds down.

Sat Mar 8 201400:33Will Bynum playing well for the Pistons
Will Bynum took advantage of garbage time against the Wolves on Friday during a 114-101 loss, finishing with 17 points, three boards, three assists, one steal and two 3-pointers in 21 minutes.
His usage has risen quite a bit lately and the Pistons have really grown fond of him becoming a bit of a sixth man. In his last five, Bynum averaged 13.4 points, 2.2 boards, 4.4 assists, 1.2 steals and 0.6 triples. He's worth a look for point guard-needy owners.

Mon Mar 3 201422:45Bynum scores 16 points with three steals
Will Bynum scored 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting (1-of-2 from deep, 5-of-6 from the line) with three rebounds, three assists and three steals in 18 minutes off the bench on Monday.
Bynum went for 18 and nine last Wednesday and he has been a low-end value in 14-16 team leagues over the last two weeks. It's hard to imagine him sustaining any value beyond that.

Thu Feb 27 201401:42W. Bynum drops 18 & 9 filling in for Jennings
Will Bynum came off the bench to hit 9-of-18 shots for 18 points and nine assists in 31 minutes, filling in for Brandon Jennings after he left with a toe injury on Wednesday.
Bynum was already playing pretty well in a back up role and if Jennings is out for Saturday's game against the Rockets, Bynum would be a solid starting option that day. If you have room and want to take a flier in case Jennings' injury is serious, do it. Over his last five, Bynum is averaging 13.2 points and 7.2 assists.

Mon Feb 24 201422:20Will Bynum plays just 16 minutes vs. GSW
Will Bynum played 16 minutes against the Warriors on Monday with eight points, three boards, four assists and two turnovers.
He's played the entire fourth quarter in each of the last two games and played nine of the final 12 minutes tonight. Bynum seems to have better control of the offense while running the point and he's getting more chances to make plays. Still, he's averaged just 11.4 points, 6.6 assists, 0.2 steals and 0.2 triples in his last five. He's only an asset for owners in dire straits for point guards.

Sat Feb 22 201423:13Will Bynum feeling it off Pistons bench
Will Bynum hit 7-of-12 shots for 17 points, four rebounds and eight assists in 32 minutes of Saturday's loss to the Mavericks.
Bynum played the entire fourth quarter for the second straight game and is hot, averaging 12.2 points, 2.0 rebounds and 6.6 assists over his last five games. But with Rodney Stuckey healthy and Brandon Jennings in a slump, it's hard to see Bynum keeping this up for much longer. But if you're in a deep league, he might be worth a look in case he stays hot and Jennings ends up in the doghouse.

Sat Feb 22 201401:31Will Bynum closes out the game on Friday
Will Bynum played the entire fourth against the Hawks on Friday, finishing with nine points, two boards, seven assists, one block and two turnovers
New coach, same old doghouse for Brandon Jennings. The starting point guard did this before while Mo Cheek was the coach, but it didn't really cost him playing time in the future. Bynum has played well and the Pistons really battled in the fourth to earn the comeback victory. He's still a risky player to add in standards, but at least he plays the game the right way and his shot selection isn't terrible.

Wed Feb 19 201421:41Will Bynum playing well off Pistons bench
Will Bynum had 14 points, two rebounds, eight assists and a 3-pointer on 5-of-9 shooting off the Pistons bench on Wednesday.
He had nine points and six dimes on Tuesday and is averaging 11.7 points and 6.0 assists over his last three games and could be worth a look in deep leagues if he can stay hot.

Sat Feb 8 201418:22Will Bynum gets DNP-CD after spat w/ coach
Pistons guard Will Bynum didn't leave the bench on Friday, two days after confronting coach Mo Cheeks.
Cheeks said that the benching wasn't punitive but it's impossible to ignore the timing, and presumably Bynum is deep in his coach's doghouse. Chauncey Billups was the beneficiary of the switch, playing nine minutes in his return to the lineup.

Thu Feb 6 201410:43Will Bynum confronts coach during game
Will Bynum was involved in a verbal confrontation with coach Maurice Cheeks during Wednesday's loss to the Magic.
Bynum was visibly angered after playing just three minutes in the first half and was seen in a heated discussion with his coach. "It's part of the game," Cheeks said. "We had a few words and moved on. That's it. There's nothing to elaborate on. We had a few words, and we moved on. It's not the first time I've had words with a player, so it's probably not going to be the last." This altercation shouldn't affect the 31-year-old's fantasy value much as he currently isn't providing much value beyond the deepest of leagues.

Sun Jan 12 201400:21Will Bynum puts up a nice game
Will Bynum was effective again off the bench in Saturday's win over the Suns, scoring 16 points with two boards, one assist, two steals and one turnover in 23 minutes.
Coach Mo Cheek said he's going to play Bynum more as a point guard-type guy and he kept true to his word. Bynum has quite a few holes in his game -- like some leaky defense -- so his fantasy value is far from solidified. If you want to pick him up, hopefully it's not for anyone with proven value.

Sat Jan 11 201418:15Will Bynum to get more minutes at point guard
Will Bynum is expected to see more minutes at point guard vs. the Suns on Saturday.
Coach Mo Cheeks liked the Will Bynum-Brandon Jennings backcourt combo last night. Bynum is coming off a very impressive 16-point, eight board game in the win. He is worth a look in deeper leagues for now with Rodney Stuckey falling out of favor for whatever reason. A move of Brandon Jennings to an off-the-ball guy could help, but his jumper has really been off all year.

Fri Jan 10 201423:09Will Bynum looks great off the bench
Will Bynum propelled the Pistons off the bench in 34 minutes of action during Friday's 114-104 win, scoring 16 points with eight boards, three assists, two blocks, one steal and one 3-pointer.
He ate up most of Rodney Stuckey's minutes, but there has been no reason as to why just yet. Bynum's minutes have been trending up lately and the Pistons played their best game in a while, so he could see more playing time. Still, he's hardly someone worth owning in most leagues until things clear up.
