Wed Jun 19 201314:24Rashard Lewis leaning toward opting in
Rashard Lewis is leaning toward exercising his option for next season.
Lewis has a player's option for just about $1.4 million for the 2013-14 season and recently refuted a report that claimed he was planning to opt out of the deal and test free agency. We found it hard to believe Lewis would choose to leave the Heat and a guaranteed payday and it at least sounds like he'll have another season in Miami before he has to decide his future.

Mon Jun 17 201308:50Rashard Lewis refutes report he'll opt in
Rashard Lewis refuted a report that he'd opt in with the Heat next season.
Lewis said "I don't plan on opting out at all" previously, so he's really just changing his mind. "I haven't agreed to anything," he said. "I have no idea. I haven't even talked to my agent." We can't imagine a better scenario for Lewis as he's nearing the end of his career, but if he wants to leave the Heat, that's his prerogative.

Wed Jun 12 201308:28Rashard Lewis won't opt out of deal w/ Heat
Rashard Lewis does not plan to opt out of his contract with the Heat after the season.
"I'm with the Miami Heat. I don't plan on opting out at all," he said. And why would we? Lewis can ride the end of the bench and be in the title hunt during his time with the team, so we fully expect him to stay true to his word.

Mon Apr 15 201321:43Rashard Lewis scores 19; Miller scores 11
Rashard Lewis scored 19 points on 5-of-13 shooting (including three treys) with three rebounds, one steal and one block in a start at small forward on Monday.
Lewis and Mike Miller (11 points, eight rebounds, three assists, three treys) are owners' safer bets for value during the Heat's finale, though Norris Cole certainly added his name to the list with tonight's near triple-double. If you want to dig a bit deeper, you can look at James Jones (14 points, four rebounds, three assists, two blocks, two threes) and Chris Andersen (seven points, three boards, two blocks).

Fri Apr 12 201322:56Lewis scores 19; Allen scores 17 vs. Celtics
Rashard Lewis scored 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting (including three treys) with one rebound and one assist in 24 minutes off the bench on Friday against the Celtics.
Lewis did well to score this much with the Big Three on the court, and he's certainly worth a look knowing that they will probably miss a few more games. Ray Allen added 17 points with three triples in the Heat's win.

Wed Apr 10 201322:46Rashard Lewis scores season-high 17 in win
Rashard Lewis started for the depleted Heat on Wednesday and hit 5-of-14 shots on his way to a season-high 17 points, five rebounds and three 3-pointers in 37 minutes.
He's scored between 14 and 17 points in three of his last four games, and looks like a decent silly-season pickup at this point, as the Heat clinched home court all the way through the playoffs with tonight's win over the Wizards.

Sat Apr 6 201322:24Heat get a boost as Rashard scores 14 points
The Heat got an unexpected boost from Rashard Lewis on Saturday, as he scored 14 points with two 3-pointers, seven rebounds, three assists and one steal vs. the Sixers.
Shard dropped 14 points and two 3s in Miami's last game, but it's hard to trust him with LeBron active and both Chris Bosh and Dwyane Wade listed as day-to-day. Owners in standard leagues should be able to find a more trustworthy option.

Fri Apr 5 201323:45Rashard Lewis relevant again (somewhat)
Rashard Lewis scored 14 points on 5-of-12 shooting (including two threes) with five rebounds, one steal and one block in 32 minutes on Friday.
With the Big Three resting from time to time now Lewis has value as a spot play, but even then he carries a ton of risk and that situation will worsen as guys return.

Sun Mar 31 201321:37Rashard Lewis has four blocks in rare start
With LeBron James rested on Sunday, Rashard Lewis started at SF and had seven points, three rebounds, three assists, one steal and four blocks.
Lewis went 1-of-6 from downtown and he'd be an interesting option if LBJ misses any more games, but that may not happen. Just keep an eye on him as we navigate the final wacky weeks of the regular season.

Tue Dec 18 201208:15Rashard Lewis has fallen out of the rotation
Rashard Lewis has once again fallen out of the rotation.
Lewis will eventually return to the rotation when someone like Mike Miller (back) needs to take some time off in the regular season, but 'Shard isn't an option in standard formats even when playing.

Tue Dec 4 201222:17Rashard Lewis fails to score in start
Rashard Lewis made another start in place of Shane Battier on Tuesday, but missed his only shot and failed to score in just 15 minutes of action.
Mike Miller had 11 points, four rebounds and three 3-pointers, and if you somehow still own Lewis in a deep league, dumping him for Miller (or someone else) is a must.

Sat Dec 1 201222:40Rashard Lewis plays 14 minutes in start at SF
Rashard Lewis hit 1-of-4 shots for two points on Saturday, playing 14 minutes in a start at small forward.
If Thursday's one-shot dud hadn't scared you away from Rashard, this ought to do the trick.

Thu Nov 29 201223:29Rashard Lewis is quiet in start on Thursday
Rashard Lewis started for the injured Shane Battier and played 21 minutes, scored three points and grabbed three rebounds in Thursday's 105-100 win over the Spurs.
Mike Miller played just 17 minutes and scored two points while Norris Cole played 20 minutes and had eight points. The bottom line is that there doesn't appear to be a clear winner from the Shane Battier injury news and owners shouldn't look to find a spot-start based on Battier likely being out on Saturday.

Mon Nov 26 201208:18Rashard Lewis has fallen out of the rotation
Rashard Lewis has fallen out of the Heat rotation, but the move is not expected to be permanent.
There's a lot of talent on the bench, a lot of guys that can play any given night," Lewis said. He added that Erik Spoelstra told him that the lineup was going to be tinkered with, so Lewis' sudden increase of time on the bench is not unexpected. Although he's found his 3-point stroke again, Lewis is not a fantasy asset.

Thu Nov 22 201206:44Lewis (illness) good to go on Saturday
Rashard Lewis (illness) said that he would be "good to go" for Saturday's game against the Cavs.
Lewis could have a nice game against a banged up Cavs team with little depth, especially if the starters can put the game away early. All of that said, he offers little else but 3-point shooting for owners in deep leagues.

Wed Nov 21 201222:25Rashard Lewis sits with illness on Wednesday
Rashard Lewis (illness) did not play for the Heat on Wednesday against the Bucks.
He was sick yesterday and Coach Spo opted not to play him. He has little to no value while Miami is at full strength.

Sat Nov 3 201204:59Lewis hits four threes off the bench on Fri
Rashard Lewis hit four 3-pointers off the bench on Friday, scoring 16 points on 5-of-9 shooting with six rebounds and no other stats in 20 minutes.
Lewis will be one of those guys that proves Kobe knee treatment is the panacea for all knee injuries, but we'll need to see a whole season's worth of solid play before going there. If healthy and mobile, he could conceivably be worth a look if you need 3-point shooting but that's about it.

Thu Nov 1 201210:21Rashard Lewis feels much better health wise
Rashard Lewis said he feels "10 times better than I did in the last two years."
Lewis was effective in his first game as a member of the Heat, and now that he can actually get his legs into his shot, it should help his efficiency. However, over an 82-game season, we're skeptical that his body will hold up and he won't see enough playing time to be a fantasy option.

Tue Oct 30 201223:26Rashard Lewis scores 10 in Heat opener
Rashard Lewis came off the bench for 10 points, five rebounds and a 3-pointer in 19 minutes on Tuesday.
He hit 4-of-5 shots and should be a nice option for the Heat off the bench. However, we don't trust his legs to hold up and he'll struggle to see enough minutes to be a top fantasy option. He also saw a few more minutes tonight when LeBron James left with leg cramps.

Sat Oct 20 201218:01Rashard Lewis hits a few threes on Saturday
Rashard Lewis hit three treys on his way to 15 points, three boards and four steals in 20 minutes against the Spurs on Saturday.
LeBron didn't play, so Coach Spo let Rashard loose a bit. He's a very good shooter for his size and is a nice fit for Miami. However, fantasy owners should just view him as a player as a daily streaming option to help in threes.
