Kaman (shoulder) will not play Wednesday against the Jazz.

Kaman will sit out a third consecutive game since spraining his shoulder against Orlando on Friday. With LaMarcus Aldridge considered questionable, the Blazers could again be shorthanded in the frontcourt, as was the case Tuesday night. That means Joel Freeland, who played 23 minutes Tuesday, and Meyers Leonard (15 minutes) could again see increased workloads.

Kaman (shoulder) traveled with the Blazers to Utah, but a decision hasn't been made on his availability for Wednesday's contest against the Jazz, CSN Northwest reports.

Since leaving Friday's loss at Orlando, Kaman has missed both of the Blazers' subsequent defeats Saturday and Tuesday as a result of a strained shoulder. Another absence would translate to guaranteed playing time for Joel Freeland and Meyers Leonard, especially against the Jazz's imposing frontcourt.

Since the break, he's shot at least 60 percent from the field nine times in 12 appearances, meaning his reduction in workload (20 to 17 minutes) has yielded fruit. During that span, he's averaging 8.1 points (on 58 percent shooting), 5.8 boards, and 0.8 assists.

Kaman posted eight points (4-6 FG) and seven rebounds in 16 minutes during Wednesday's win at the Clippers.

Kaman missed the Blazers' final game before the break due to a sprained right ankle. However, he's used his limited workload efficiently in the meantime, averaging 7.5 points (on 59 percent shooting), 5.7 boards, and 0.7 assists in 18 minutes. His minutes could be cut somewhat as Joel Freeland works himself into game shape, but the latter has logged two and zero minutes in two games since missing two months due to a shoulder strain.

Kaman (ankle) returned from a one-game absence Friday. He scored six points (3-5 FG) and added two rebounds and two blocks in 16 minutes against the Jazz.

Kaman has cooled down lately, to the point where he now has very little fantasy value in most formats. Though his workload is mostly unchanged, his productivity is way down. It is unlikely that the Trail Blazers' trade will have much impact on Kaman, since both departed forwards were only rarely used, and Kaman's workload has remained steady all season.

Kaman has a right ankle sprain and will sit out Wednesday's game.

He will miss the Blazers' final game before the All-Star break, which makes sense considering Portland is playing the lowly Lakers, and should be able to get a win without Kaman. He should be considered questionable for the Feb. 20 game in Utah.

This small promotion will likely continue for as long as either Freeland or Lopez stay sidelined, and at this point it would appear that Kaman likely has around two weeks left before Freeland returns to the court.

Barring an unforeseen move, Kaman should be the starter for the next several games, so long as Freeland and Lopez remain out.

Thomas Robinson saw just 13 minutes, so it looks like Kaman will be the guy in the middle for the Blazers over the next couple of weeks. Don't expect those block numbers every night, but he should be a modest source of points and boards as long as he remains in the starting lineup.
