Thu Feb 21 201319:19Eric Maynor will not be available for Friday
Eric Maynor will not be available for Friday's game against the Lakers.
He was viewed as one of the better backup point guards in the league before tearing his ACL in January 2012, but he was never really able to get it going since the major injury. Maynor has a career 2.9 assist-to-turnover ratio and shoots 35 percent from 3-point land, so he could be an interesting backup and may be paired with Damian Lillard in a two-point backcourt. Obviously, Lillard leads all point guards in minutes with 38.5 per game and Maynor has absolutely no impact on this year's heavy favorite for Rookie of the Year.

Thu Feb 21 201314:53Blazers acquire backup PG Maynor from Thunder
Blazers acquired PG Eric Maynor from the Thunder via trade.
Maynor was the No. 3 point guard in Oklahoma City behind Russell Westbrook and Reggie Jackson. In Portland, he'll slide in as Damian Lillard's direct backup. But considering Lillard averages 38.5 minutes a night, there won't be a ton of opportunity. The Blazers gave up a draft pick in the deal.

Thu Feb 21 201310:06Thunder want first-round pick for Eric Maynor
The Thunder are seeking a first-round pick for Eric Maynor, according to Sam Amick of USA Today.
Good luck with that. Maynor has fallen to third on the point guard depth chart and hasn't played in any of the last three games. He'll be hitting free agency at the end of the season, so the Thunder may not find a taker at their asking price.

Sun Feb 10 201309:34Report: Thunder field offers for Eric Maynor
The Thunder have received "numerous inquiries" about Eric Maynor, according to Yahoo!'s Marc Spears.
The same report suggests that OKC "is inclined to keep Maynor but is open-minded." Maynor has fallen behind Reggie Jackson in the rotation, which gives this rumor some extra plausibility, but it would take an ideal situation for Maynor to make any noise in fantasy leagues.

Fri Jan 11 201308:39Eric Maynor not interested in D-League
Eric Maynor is not interested in taking a D-League assignment after losing the backup PG spot to Reggie Jackson.
"No," said Maynor, who repeated his answer twice more. Maynor's future with OKC is very much in doubt with his free agency looming at season's end, and he could be on the move before the trade deadline if the Thunder can find the right deal.

Tue Jan 8 201308:22Report: Sixers inquired on Eric Maynor
The Sixers "explored a trade" for Eric Maynor, a source tells the Philadelphia Inquirer.
However, the talks didn't get very far and it doesn't sound as if there is a deal to be done at this juncture. The two sides could revisit talks down the road, but for now, it appears Maynor will stay put. He's a candidate to be dealt as he's in the final season of his contract and it would be a surprise to see OKC re-sign him.

Mon Nov 26 201209:10Brooks not contemplating backup PG change
Scott Brooks is not contemplating a change at backup point guard.
Eric Maynor is averaging 4.1 points and 1.9 assists on 31.7 percent shooting, but third-string PG Reggie Jackson is averaging just a point on 33.3 percent shooting. "I haven't thought about it," Brooks said in regards to making a change. As long as Russell Westbrook is healthy, it doesn't matter who the backup is for fantasy owners.

Sat Nov 10 201202:49Maynor hits three treys vs. Pistons
Eric Maynor hit 5-of-6 shots and three 3-pointers for 13 points on Friday.
Maynor added three assists to his statline, and will only have real value if Russell Westbrook or Kevin Martin suffers an injury.

Wed Oct 31 201213:36Eric Maynor beats Jackson for backup PG
Eric Maynor has won the backup PG spot over Reggie Jackson.
The two players were competing to be Russell Westbrook's primary backup throughout the preseason, but Maynor was always expected to win the gig. He's fully healthy coming off of knee surgery and should be a stabilizing force in OKC's second unit.

Sun Oct 28 201219:52Eric Maynor will become restricted FA
The Thunder and Eric Maynor have agreed to end negotiations on a contract extension, which means Maynor will become a restricted free agent this summer.
Maynor is coming off major ACL surgery, so the Thunder have little incentive to hand him a big contract before the season even begins. They have some financial flexibility now that James Harden is gone, and they'll have the opportunity to match any offers Maynor gets next summer.

Tue Oct 23 201223:41Maynor scores 13 points in start on Tuesday
Eric Maynor played 32 minutes as the starter on Wednesday and had 13 points, two assists, one steal and three triples against the Bulls.
Before Maynor tore his ACL last year, he was considered as one of the better backup point guards in the NBA. He would really have some fantasy value should something happen to Russell Westbrook, but that's a bit unlikely since Westbrook has yet to miss a game in his NBA career.

Wed Oct 17 201208:13Eric Maynor says his knee is fully healed
Eric Maynor (knee) confirmed that he's fully healed after surgery last year.
Maynor underwent ACL surgery last season, but all signs have been encouraging in his recovery process. Although he said that he's still adjusting to being back on the court, we feel Maynor is the favorite for the backup PG job despite Scott Brooks saying it's a competition between Maynor and Reggie Jackson. Let's remember that Jackson wasn't active during the postseason last year despite Maynor being out.

Wed Oct 3 201219:43Thunder backup PG competition is 'open'
Scott Brooks said that the backup point guard competition is "open" between Reggie Jackson and Eric Maynor.
Maynor is coming off ACL surgery last season and he was cleared for all basketball activities on Monday. While Maynor was considered to be one of the better backup point guards in the NBA before he went down, Reggie Jackson did an fair job in his 11.1 minutes per game last season. Neither will have any value on draft day due to the fact that Russell Westbrook still hasn't missed an NBA game in his career.

Mon Oct 1 201216:09Eric Maynor (knee) cleared for all activities
Eric Maynor (knee) has been cleared for all basketball activities, and he doesn't anticipate being on a medical minute-limit.
Maynor brings terrific leadership to the Thunder second unit, and remains one of the league's most undervalued second-string players. Here's hoping he can stay healthy in 2012-13.

Wed Sep 12 201219:20PG Eric Maynor (knee) cleared to practice
Eric Maynor (knee) has been cleared to practice for the Thunder.
Maynor tore his ACL last season on January 7th and missed the rest of the season. He is viewed as a better-than-average backup point guard, but with Russell Westbrook not missing a game in his career, Maynor has yet to get his chance. He would need Russell Westbrook to miss time to have fantasy value.

Thu Aug 30 201209:08Maynor wants to stay with Thunder long-term
Eric Maynor is hoping to stay with the Thunder long-term.
"I want to be here," Maynor said at the end of last season. "It's very important to me. Whatever we got to do to get it done, we need to make it happen." That is a pretty clear declaration from Maynor, but his future is likely tied to James Harden after OKC extended Serge Ibaka already in the offseason. It's going to be difficult to retain Maynor if the team locks up Harden, and there is no doubt Maynor will have plenty of motivation entering his contract season.

Mon Aug 20 201210:00Maynor facing uncertain future with Thunder
Eric Maynor's agent "refused to discuss" the state of contract negotiations between his client and the Thunder.
Maynor played just nine games in 2011-12 before tearing his ACL, and he's expected to resume his traditional role behind Russell Westbrook this season. However, with Serge Ibaka freshly extended and James Harden's contract next on GM Sam Presti's to-do list, there may not be room for Maynor to also remain with the team. Reggie Jackson's progression will be key in how negotiations proceed between Maynor and the Thunder moving forward.

Sun Jul 22 201210:17Eric Maynor (ACL) resumes on-court workouts
Eric Maynor (ACL surgery) said that his knee is doing "real good," though he didn't offer a return date.
Maynor has resumed on-court workouts and should be ready to go for training camp, which is great news for OKC's second unit. He averaged 4.2 points and 2.4 assists in 15 minutes per game last year -- it doesn't sound like much, but he's one of the league's better backup PGs. Expect Reggie Jackson to fill the third-string PG role while Maynor is healthy.

Tue Jun 26 201210:35Maynor expects to be healthy by next season
Eric Maynor (knee surgery) said that he is "on pace" to be fully recovered by the start of next season.
Maynor missed the majority of this season due to a torn ACL, but he's been working hard and is confident he'll be ready to go. "I'm not going to be behind, Ill tell you that," he said. "I'm working hard this summer, I've been working hard since I got hurt." Maynor is expected to remain in OKC while he rehabs, and he is not currently concerned about his contract status. The VCU product is eligible to become a restricted free agent next summer.

Thu May 31 201213:10Eric Maynor (torn ACL) doing on-court work
Eric Maynor (knee surgery) was doing "aggressive shooting drills" on Thursday.
Maynor tore his ACL in early January, but he's expected to be healthy in time for training camp. The fact that he's already doing on-court work is a positive step in his recovery, and he should be able to bounce back to full strength following his surgery.
