Wed Sep 9 201517:03World Peace could be close to one year-deal with former team
World Peace, who has been working out daily at the Lakers' facility, could be close to a one year-deal with his former team, Adrian Wojnarowski reports.
If the 35-year-old ends up with a roster spot in Los Angeles, he'll likely serve as a mentor for the team's young talent, such as power forward Julius Randle. World Peace would have limited fantasy value in his role with the Lakers, well past his prime and era of fantasy relevance. His last NBA appearance was with the Knicks during the 2013-14 season, when he averaged 4.8 points, 2.0 rebounds, 0.6 assists, and 0.8 steals in 13 minutes per game throughout 29 games.
Tue Mar 24 201510:15World Peace signed agreement with Italian team Pallacanestro Can...
World Peace signed an agreement with Italian team Pallacanestro Cantu for the rest of the season, according to the team's official twitter account.
With the Chinese Basketball Association season finished, Artest isn't waiting long to find work elsewhere. It's quite possible he's played his last game in the NBA, but he doesn't seem to be having much trouble finding work in Asia and Europe.
Thu Jul 31 201416:40World Peace signed one-year
World Peace signed a one-year, $1.43 million contract in the Chinese Basketball Association on Thursday, Sportando reports.
World Peace toughed out a knee concern last season, which eventually forced the Knicks to buy out his contract in late February. Only mustering 29 appearances, he averaged 4.8 points (on 40 percent shooting), two rebounds, and 0.8 steals in 13 minutes. If his stint in China goes swimmingly, an NBA team could come calling once the season concludes in February or March.
Wed Jul 30 201409:48Metta World Peace close to signing in China
Free agent Metta World Peace is reportedly close to signing with the Sichuan Blue Whales in the Chinese Basketball Association.
MWP struggled to earn minutes under Knicks coach Mike Woodson last season, and he wasn't picked up after being waived by New York in February. He'd undoubtedly be a popular figure in China if he does sign with the Blue Whales, but we've learned not to assume anything until Metta signs on the dotted line -- before signing with the Knicks last summer, he said that he might retire, play in China, or coach in the Arena Football League.

Sat Jul 19 201417:12Knicks interested in Metta World Peace
The Knicks are interested in signing Metta World Peace.
MWP has been doing radio shows and posting entertaining tweets in the past year, so it's not clear how well he'd perform. He said he still has some left in the tank and he's not going to retire. We'll see how this plays out, but he won't be worth drafting in fantasy leagues.

Fri Jun 13 201415:49Metta World Peace not considering retirement
Metta World Peace took to his Twitter profile on Friday to announce that he is not considering retirement.
"No way in the world I am retiring. I'm too good," said World Peace. "Last year I had a consistent pre-season. I can't control what a coach does! I played very well in the Garden last year. I played well for the Lakers prior. Metta World will be back hard body next year." World Peace is currently set to be the assistant coach of a girls high school basketball team, but it seems apparent that he'd be more than willing to take an offer from an NBA team if the situation presents itself.

Thu Jun 12 201417:04World Peace to be girls high school coach
Metta World Peace will be a girls high school basketball assistant coach next season.
He was bought out of his contract by the Knicks in February and has been a free agent ever since. There have been some rumors about World Peace possibly rejoining the Knicks now that his former coach Phil Jackson is the primary decision maker in New York. This is a very interesting choice for the man formerly known as Ron Artest, but he still intends to fulfill any NBA duties he may have.

Mon Feb 24 201417:09Metta World Peace bought out on Monday
Metta World Peace has been bought out by the Knicks.
He'll hit waivers and is expected to become a free agent unless a team claims him. World Peace has interest from the Spurs and Clippers for now, but there will likely be other names popping up. He can be left on the wire in all leagues.

Sun Feb 23 201412:17Metta World Peace could land in San Antonio?
If Metta World Peace is bought out from the Knicks, it's possible that he could sign in San Antonio according to local Spurs beat writer Mike Monroe.
There's a lot of speculation here, but it is possible MWP could make the move to SA. Peace has a good relationship with player development coach Chad Forcier from his days in Indiana, and with Kawhi Leonard still nursing a sore hand the Spurs may be looking for some depth at that position. From a fantasy perspective, MWP would have very limited value as a reserve in SA. There's nothing really concrete here, but we thought we'd just pass along the info.

Sat Feb 22 201411:32Metta World Peace tweets buyout is near
Metta World Peace took to Twitter on Saturday morning to announce that his agent is working on a buyout from the Knicks.
The artist formerly known as Artest also reports that a deal could happen at any minute, so it appears his run as a Knick has officially come to an end. MWP says he's healthy and has been highly frustrated with his lack of playing time in New York, so it should be interesting to see where he lands. He's not a must-own player with this news, but he at least deserves some attention depending on where he ends up.

Sat Feb 8 201409:13Metta World Peace open to trade from Knicks
Metta World Peace is reportedly open to being traded from the Knicks due to his negligible role in Mike Woodson's rotation.
MWP may have angered Woodson during a recent practice, when he made a joke about his limited minutes, but World Peace's agent said he "[hasn't] been given an answer" why his client isn't playing. The report by the New York Post doesn't mention any potential landing spots for the veteran forward.

Tue Jan 28 201423:14Metta World Peace plays eight minutes
Metta World Peace returned from an illness on Tuesday and had three points (a 3-pointer) on 1-of-4 shooting in just eight minutes.
He has no fantasy value right now and given the state of his knee, may not the rest of the season.

Sun Jan 26 201413:56Metta World Peace out w/ stomach virus
Metta World Peace will not play on Sunday due to a stomach virus.
MWP said recently that his knee is healthy enough for him to play, but Mike Woodson is concerned about his conditioning and opted not to play him on Friday. The Knicks' veteran forward is averaging just 15 minutes in 23 appearances this season.

Fri Jan 24 201417:48Metta World Peace will dress for Friday
Metta World Peace (knee) will dress for Friday's game against the Bobcats.
He was expected to return on Tuesday, but the Knicks need forwards in the worst way. World Peace might just be active as an emergency, so fantasy owners shouldn't necessarily expect him to play.

Wed Jan 22 201420:03Metta World Peace targeting Tuesday return
Metta World Peace (knee) is targeting a return to the lineup on Tuesday night against the Celtics.
He said his knee feels great and doesn't want to rush back to play against the Lakers on Sunday. World Peace had a two-hour workout and did some shooting drills on Wednesday. He's also been on social media saying he's not in the best shape. Fantasy owners can leave him on the wire.

Tue Jan 21 201410:00Metta World Peace hoping to return this week
Metta World Peace (knee) hopes to return to action sometime this week.
World Peace said he'd have his fifth (and last blood) injection to complete the two-week PRP process he's been undergoing in order to heal his arthritic left knee. "I' m not going to rush," MWP said. "New York City, they rush everything. It's life. It happens when it happens. Take your time. Relax. Slow down the music. Too much techno [music]." While it's nice to know MWP might enjoy a good Barry White album, he likely won't see more than 15 minutes per game even when he's back so fantasy owners can feel free to look elsewhere.

Mon Jan 20 201410:03Metta World Peace may need more knee therapy
Knicks coach Mike Woodson suggested that Metta World Peace (knee) might require another platelet-rich plasma injection before he's ready to return.
MWP played a small bench role even when he was healthy, making his eventual return to action a non-event in fantasy leagues. As for Monday's game, the Knicks may deploy a small lineup with Pablo Prigioni (toe) starting alongside Raymond Felton.

Wed Jan 8 201413:31World Peace has PRP therapy in both knees
Metta World Peace had platelet rich plasma therapy on both knees Monday, and he expects to be out two weeks.
"I did both knees because I didn't want to be off-balance and I knew it was going to help me a little bit," said World Peace, whose left knee has given him the most trouble. Even when he does return toward the end of January, there's no reason to think MWP will earn more than the 15 minutes per game he's averaged thus far.

Wed Jan 1 201411:38Metta World Peace out until late January
Metta World Peace will have plasma-rich platelet therapy on his knee this Monday, and he expects the procedure to sideline him for about two weeks.
"I spoke to Amar'e about [PRP therapy]," World Peace said. "I think he's played well when he gets the minutes. Who knows? Maybe the PRP did work for him." MWP has barely cracked Mike Woodson's rotation and he's averaging a career-low 5.5 points in 15 minutes per game, so his absence doesn't mean much for fantasy purposes.

Tue Dec 31 201313:33Metta World Peace will miss 3-game TX trip
Metta World Peace (knee) had his knee drained on Monday and will miss the Knicks' three-game Texas trip.
World Peace will be out until at least January 7th with this latest news and will have played only five minutes in the Knicks' last eight games at that point. MWP is only averaging 5.5 points and 2.1 rebounds per game this season, so he can dropped without regret in even the deepest of fantasy leagues at this point.
