Thu Dec 1 202220:16Tim Hardaway Jr. Finding Success In The Starting Lineup
Dallas Mavericks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. is finding his groove after a dreadful start to the season. Currently holding a career-worst .477 true shooting mark, the Mavericks guard is experiencing a favorable two-game stretch. Scoring 11 points on 3-for-4 three-point shooting in the first half versus the Detroit Pistons continues his resurgence in the starting lineup. Last Tuesday saw Hardaway register 22 points on the Golden State Warriors. If Hardaway keeps up this level of play, many fantasy managers will have to take a chance on him.

Wed Nov 9 202212:21Tim Hardaway Jr. Tagged As Questionable For Wednesday
Dallas Mavericks forward Tim Hardaway Jr. (hip) is officially listed as questionable on Wednesday. The 30-year-old veteran suffered a hip strain against the Brooklyn Nets on Monday when he slipped and fell awkwardly. It doesn't seem to be too severe of an injury, but the Mavericks are probably being a little cautious for this game against the Orlando Magic. While he's out, Josh Green should see increased minutes as he did against Brooklyn. He'll serve as a good streaming option for those fantasy managers that might need one.

Tue Nov 8 202200:09Tim Hardaway Jr. Suffers Hip Injury Against Nets
Dallas Mavericks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. (hip) exited Monday's game against Brooklyn. He did not return. The 30-year-old slipped on a slick surface of the court and was ruled out shortly after with a strained left hip. It's unknown if Hardaway will be available for Wednesday's meeting with the Magic. However, if he isn't, Josh Green may see additional minutes. Green scored a season-high 16 points while compiling five rebounds and two assists versus the Nets, so he will have streaming appeal in deep fantasy formats if Hardaway can't suit up.

Thu Oct 27 202219:29Tim Hardaway Jr. Will Play Against Brooklyn
Dallas Mavericks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. (foot) is officially active for Thursday's game against the Brooklyn Nets. After a one-game absence, he'll make his return to help out the offense alongside Luka Doncic. The 30-year-old hasn't shot the ball particularly well so far. If there's anyone to get back on track against, it would be the Nets, who have had one of the worst defenses in the league so far. Right now, fantasy managers should wait for some more consistent production before adding Hardaway to their rosters.

Thu Oct 27 202214:56Tim Hardaway Jr. Questionable For Thursday
Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Tim Hardaway Jr. (foot) is questionable for Thursday's matchup against Brooklyn. He's dealing with right foot soreness and already missed Tuesday's loss to New Orleans. Spencer Dinwiddie picked up a bunch of extra minutes against the Pelicans and should do the same on Thursday if Hardaway Jr. remains sidelined. The former Net has enjoyed a strong start for the season and even had a nice 24-point outing last time out.

Tue Oct 25 202218:24Tim Hardaway Jr. Ruled Out Against New Orleans
Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Tim Hardaway Jr. (foot) will not play Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans. Hardaway was doubtful coming into the night so this should not come as a big surprise. Hardaway missed a large amount of games last season due to a foot injury, but thankfully this is not the same foot. Reggie Bullock should continue to start on the wing and newcomer Facundo Campazzo may pick up extra minutes in his season debut Tuesday. Given Hardaway's status, he could be leaning towards doubtful for their next game on Thursday against the Brooklyn Nets.

Tue Oct 25 202216:05Tim Hardaway Jr. Tagged As Doubtful For Tuesday
Dallas Mavericks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. (foot) is listed as doubtful for Tuesday night against the New Orleans Pelicans. It seems as though he's just facing some foot soreness and is probably going to receive a rest day. In his two games this season, he's averaging 12.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.5 assists on just 30% shooting from the floor. In category formats, he's usually good for some points, rebounds and three-point shooting. He may just need some time to shake the rust off after missing half of last season.

Mon Oct 3 202211:30NBA Draft Analysis: Second-Round Rookies to Watch Early for Fantasy Basketball
It's funny that every year at the NBA Draft, once the end of the guaranteed money and live appearances arrives at the end of the first round, everybody tunes out and refers to the 60th pick as "Mr. Irrelevant." That's not very accurate though, is it? Speaking historically, the title of "Mr. Irrelevant" could just as easily be applied to each pick in the draft, as organizations differ greatly in their evaluation of talent and their own needs, particularly in a year without the NCAA tournament. The nickname just doesn't reflect how basketball works anymore. Executives strategically stockpile second-round draft picks for the less burdensome financial obligations, and organizations in rebuilding mode get super creative to field a respectable team on a budget.Particularly in the NBA where worldwide talent is plentiful and positional lines continue to fade, opportunity is everything: in the right situation, the right under-the-radar player can make an immediate, poignant statement. With professional development leagues for 16-18-year-olds, an ever-expanding set of domestic/international opportunities due to the sheer growth of basketball, and widespread NIL rights for college athletes, players of all levels and localities are starting to get their due exposure and now have enough freedom to hone their skills in a place, and at a pace, that fits best with their path to the NBA.Plus, I am inherently skeptical and distrusting of scouting from the high school level to pre-Draft. That's why in this annual article, I tend to favor overlooked college players (love the mid-majors/non-power conferences) with either well-rounded, polished games, or specific statistical specialties. We are going to discuss a handful of 2022 second-round picks and undrafted free agent signees who, given their individual skillsets and circumstances, warrant the attention of Fantasy Basketball Managers as potential high-impact rookies for the 2022-23 campaign who can quietly be acquired on clearance once they start showing signs of emergence. ... Tue Dec 28 202120:18Tim Hardaway Jr. Remains Unavailable On Wednesday
Dallas Mavericks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. has been ruled out for Wednesday's game against the Sacramento Kings. He continues to sit out due to protocols and has missed each of the last four games. This absence will make it his fifth straight, but hopefully he can be cleared to return soon. Sterling Brown and Frank Ntilikina will be asked to step up in Hardaway's absence. Ntilikina has some deep league appeal, but Jalen Brunson is the one running the show right now. Brunson is a must-have option right now, but Ntilikina could have some low-end appeal as well.

Tue Dec 21 202117:57Tim Hardaway Jr. Enters COVID-19 Safety Protocols
Dallas Mavericks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. has entered the league's health and safety protocols. That means, Hardaway won't be available for Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He marks the fourth Mavericks player to enter protocols over the last few days. Jalen Brunson, Trey Burke and Sterling Brown will all be asked to step up in the absence of Hardaway. Brunson is the best option out of the three. He's worth a look as a streaming option and could be an interesting DFS option for Tuesday's slate.

Mon Dec 20 202109:30Tim Hardaway Jr. Scores Game-High 28 Points As Starter
Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Tim Hardaway Jr. re-entered the starting five on Sunday against Minnesota and went off for a game-high 28 points on 10-for-19 shooting. He finished 4-for-13 from downtown and 4-for-5 at the line, bagging six rebounds and six assists with two steals, one block and one turnover in 41 minutes. This was a big effort from Hardaway Jr., and he'll be in a prime spot to continue to carry the offense, with Luka Doncic (ankle) out and Kristaps Porzingis potentially joining him on the sidelines. The Unicorn exited Sunday's loss in the third quarter with a foot problem.

Tue Dec 7 202119:24Tim Hardaway Jr. Good To Go On Tuesday
Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Tim Hardaway Jr. (knee) is in the lineup for Tuesday's clash with the Nets. The 29-year-old sniper popped up on the injury report with a right knee contusion, but he's good to go. Hardaway Jr. exploded for a season-high 29 points off the bench at the weekend against the Grizzlies, so he's carrying some good momentum ahead of the tough matchup. The Mavs offense will run through Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, who are both back on the court, but Hardaway Jr. should see plenty of the ball as well coming off the bench.

Tue Nov 9 202109:05Tim Hardaway Jr. Shows Off Good Shooting Form Versus Pelicans
Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Tim Hardaway Jr. had a very good shooting night against the Pelicans on Monday, missing just once from downtown and going 6-for-9 overall from the field to finish a 108-92 win with 17 points. He recorded zero turnovers in 33 minutes and grabbed six rebounds while dishing out four assists. Hardaway Jr. tends to be a very streaky shooter and you can tell by his recent outings, as he closed out last week with a seven-point dud against Boston. Putting points on the board against Chicago next isn't going to be easy either. The Bulls are ranked fourth in defensive efficiency and have limited teams to only 11.1 three-point makes per game.

Sun Oct 24 202111:19Tim Hardaway Jr. Heats Up Against Raptors
Dallas Mavericks shooting guard Tim Hardaway Jr. caught fire in the second half to finish with 25 points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal in Saturday's 103-95 victory against the Raptors. Hardaway Jr. went 9-for-16 from the field and 7-for-11 from three-point territory to provide a huge boost for the Mavericks as they completed their second half comeback to earn the road victory. The 29-year-old is a valuable late-round shooting guard option across standard fantasy formats as he will provide quality point totals and production with three-pointers made moving forward.

Mon Jun 7 202118:22Mavs focus on help for Doncic after another 1st-round exit
Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks are out in the first round again. The urgency to get their young superstar enough help for some deep playoff runs will grow fast, although the Mavericks are about to buy themselves time in pursuit of the franchise's first postseason series victory since the 2011 NBA Finals. Doncic left little doubt Monday he would sign a five-year extension expected to be worth more than $200 million when free agency opens this summer. That contract would start in 2022-23. Meantime, the Mavericks have to decide if Kristaps Porzingis is good enough to make them title contenders as the No. 2 to Doncic after the 7-foot-3 Latvian with a maximum contract was barely a role player in a seven-game loss to the Clippers. While Doncic averaged an NBA-best 35.7 points per game in the first round, Porzingis' production wasn't even close to last season's first-round loss to LA. His per-game averages were down by nearly 12 points and more than three rebounds. Porzingis was a 2018 All-Star... [More]
Tue Jun 1 202119:01Young, Westbrook, Morant back at scenes of ugly fan actions
Philadelphia, Utah and Atlanta can reach the second round. Dallas or the Los Angeles Clippers will get to the verge of it. Yet as Russell Westbrook and Ja Morant try to save their seasons and Trae Young looks for a clinching victory, eyes will be on the action in the seats right along with the court. The games Wednesday are the first for all three of those players in the arenas where they were the subjects of ugly fan actions in Game 2 of these first-round series. The unruly fan behavior continued Monday when a spectator was tackled after running onto the court in Washington, and Young noticed. “They doing it for attention now,” he wrote on Twitter. Young was cursed at in both games and spit on in the second one at Madison Square Garden, the only game the Knicks won in the series. The Hawks went home and easily took Games 3 and 4 in Atlanta. Now they can silence the New York fans for the summer. Hawks coach Nate McMillan said he feels safe as the team returns to New York, adding that the... [More]
Sat May 29 202119:22Lakers, Hawks, Mavs look to seize 1st-round control at home
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Lakers, Atlanta Hawks and Dallas Mavericks all began their first-round playoff series at a home-court disadvantage. After moving ahead of their higher-seeded opponents with early-series road wins, all three are up 2-1 and in position to move to the brink of the second round Sunday. The stakes are similar in all four NBA playoff games on a tantalizing slate: Atlanta, Dallas and the defending NBA champions will attempt to seize firm control of their series at home, while the heavily favored Brooklyn Nets can do the same in Boston. Los Angeles, Atlanta and Dallas are probably aware of the massive statistical edge for NBA teams with a 3-1 series lead — only 13 of 260 teams in that situation have ever blown it. They also realize Phoenix, New York and the Clippers will play for a split with appropriate intensity. “It’s going to be probably the biggest game in this series unless, it goes to a Game 7,” Lakers forward Anthony Davis said Saturday. “We’re going in... Mon May 24 202116:31NBA's young superstars showing their time is now in playoffs
NEW YORK (AP) — Trae Young didn’t look like a postseason rookie in silencing a rocking road crowd in New York. “The moment wasn’t too big for him,” Atlanta teammate Lou Williams said. Nor for Ja Morant or Devin Booker, who were just as impressive in their debuts. Throw in Luka Doncic picking up where he left off last year, and the opening weekend of the playoffs may have proven that the time is now for some of the NBA’s best young guards. “The great players, in every era, that’s what they do,” Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said. “They pose problems.” Booker and Doncic will be back in action Tuesday, hoping to send the two Los Angeles teams into 2-0 holes. Phoenix beat the Lakers 99-90 on Sunday behind 34 points from Booker. In his sixth season, he's got much more NBA experience than Young, Morant or Doncic. But he's still only 24 years old, and no amount of regular-season games is preparation for LeBron James and the defending champions in the postseason. Phoenix coach Monty Williams said... [More]
Thu May 20 202101:57Mavs trying to end 10-year run without playoff series win
DALLAS (AP) — Asked about the decade without a playoff series victory since coaching the Dallas Mavericks to their only championship, Rick Carlisle quickly mentioned the rebuilding phase that accompanied the drought. When a similar question came up a day later, the Dallas coach showed he might be ready to quit answering them. “I keep getting asked about is there pressure to advance, hell yeah there’s pressure to advance!” Carlisle said, his voice rising. “But we’re a championship organization. We’re not just looking to advance one round in the playoffs.” Luka Doncic and the Mavericks will seek the franchise's elusive series victory starting Saturday at the Los Angeles Clippers in a first-round rematch from the Florida bubble last year, when Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and company won in six games. Dirk Nowitzki, Doncic's predecessor as the Euro superstar in Dallas, led a six-game series victory over Miami's LeBron James and Dwyane Wade in the 2011 NBA Finals. Nobody could have imagined the...
